Gennadiy Mikhaylovich Tsyferov is Soviet storyteller, screenwriter and playwright. In 1949, he entered the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Faculty of Japanese, but because of the great shortsightedness he was not taken to the Japanese department, but was taken to the Mongolian. After studying for 2 years at the institute, he was expelled for poor progress. In 1951, Gennadiy Mikhaylovich entered the Krupskaya Pedagogical Institute. At the end of the institute (1956) he worked for three years as an educator in a boarding school. Already at this time, Tsyferov began to write miniature tales, which he sent to Korney Ivanovich Chukovskiy for feedback. Gradually changed his teaching activities to literary - worked not for a long time in Uchitelskaya Gazeta, in the magazine Murzilka, and wrote for Literary Newspaper. In the new publishing house "Malysh", created in 1957, and with the support of its chief editor, Yuriy Timofeyev, Tsyferov's tales saw the light of day. Along with writing, he collaborated with children's radio broadcasts, worked on television, and appeared in libraries. Gennadiy Tsyferov also worked as a scriptwriter in animation, where he, in collaboration with Soyuzmultfilm studio and in collaboration with Genrikh Sapgir, produced more than two dozen cartoons. Mostly he worked with directors Roman Kachanov, Vadim Kurchevskiy, Vladimir Degtyaryov, Nikolay Serebryakov. Together with G. Sapgir wrote plays for puppet theaters. In 1968 he became a member of the Union of Cinematographers.
