Deadline reports that the Miramax label at Paramount, which is now operating under new boss Jonathan Glickman, has given the greenlight to a new Scary Movie sequel, with the plan being to get the film into theatres sometime in 2025. If any writers or a director are attached to the project, they weren’t named in this announcement.

Scary Movie 2 was released in 2001, and the Wayans remained at the head of the creative team for that one. Marvel Poster Reveals How Charlie Sheen Will Look Like As Iron Man 13 Years Before Robert Downey Jr.
While most of the audience might remember Charlie Sheen popularly for playing the role of Charlie Harper in the iconic sitcom series Two and a Half Men, some still remember him back for his heyday as one of the most dynamic stars in the industry with a stellar reputation that one could bank on. But in recent times, he has been surrounded to the neck by a bad reputation and controversies.

Actor Marlon Wayans is known for his stand-up comedy and comedic roles in films such as White Chicks and the Scary Movie franchise. Though the actor has ventured into dramatic territory with films such as Requiem For A Dream he was mostly known for his comedic endeavors as he gained fame with his sitcom with brother Shawn Wayans, The Wayans Bros.
Wayans also starred in the 2009 action film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The Stephen Sommers directorial was an adaptation of the popular comics of the same name and starred Channing Tatum and Wayans in lead roles. Due to Wayans’ reputation as a comic actor, fans were reportedly concerned that the film would not be a serious adaptation of the action comics.

Is it time to play Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” for White Chicks 2? What Marlon and Shawn Wayans have said about the possibility of filming a sequel to the 2004 comedy turned early-aughts classic. Plus, who among their co-stars is eager for a White Chicks 2, and where the future of the Wayans brothers’ comedy stands today.
A ‘White Chicks 2’ sequel isn’t officially in the works
Sorry, White Chicks fans. The story of brothers Marcus (Marlon Wayans) and Kevin Copeland (Shawn Wayans) memorably going undercover as white women to investigate socialites’ kidnappings isn’t continuing. At least, not right now.
Marlon and Shawn, who wrote and starred in the film together along with their brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans as co-writer and director, have both discussed the possibility of a sequel over the years. However, today, one isn’t in development or production at Sony, the movie studio that owns the rights to the original.

Paris Hilton and her sister Nicky Hilton were used as inspirations for the movie White Chicks. But when Nicky Hilton confronted the Wayans brothers herself, the two initially denied this was the case.

Shawn and Marlon Wayans were used to co-starring and sometimes even developing their own projects. The pair enjoyed a long run on the hit sitcom simply titled The Wayans Bros. Afterward, the duo turned their attention to movies, and developed two of the Scary Movie films. Disagreements with the studio would eventually see the two Wayans brothers leave the Scary Movie franchise behind. But this allowed them to tackle a brand new movie idea in White Chicks.

A story about Jim Carrey might make him sound like a cheesy 1980s infomercial psychic telling you to "visualize it, dream it, attain it." But how Jim Carrey-esque of him, after all. Carrey exploded onto the scene in 1994 with "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective." But he'd been plugging away at comedy since the 1970s — first with standup and then small movie roles throughout the 1980s. His profile began to grow with a starring role on Fox's sketch show "In Living Color."
In 1994, Morgan Creek Entertainment put down 450,000 on a lottery ticket with Carrey as the lead in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective." It was a gamble, as some thought Carrey's over-the-top style might not work. Spoiler alert: It did.

Marlon Wayans is airing out his complaints about cancel culture.
In an interview with Buzzfeed, the actor was asked whether his 2004 comedy “White Chicks” would “thrive” in 2022.
“I think they’re needed. Marlon Wayans is ready to walk “A Thousand Miles” to defend his 2004 film “White Chicks.”
The controversial comedy starred Wayans and his brother Shawn Wayans as two FBI agents who go undercover as white women to stop a kidnapping. Wayans’ brother Keenan Ivory Wayans directed the film.

Could Marlon Wayans get away with making “White Chicks” in 2022? It’s a question that was recently posed to the comedian by Buzzfeed and led him to rail against “cancel culture.”

We’re one week away from Halloween, which means we’re diving into some of the scariest movies ever made. Hence, White Chicks–you know, the movie where Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans play FBI agents who go undercover as, well, white chicks. And yes, the makeup was a horrifying sight to behold.
In a recent interview with BuzzFeed, Marlon Wayans was asked if a movie like White Chicks would be received well in 2022–not by critics (it holds a 15 on Rotten Tomatoes), but in the climate of political correctness. Wayans took the chance to lay into cancel culture, saying movies like White Chicks “are needed” more than ever.

The Wayans Brothers aren’t exactly known for their high-value comedy. While Marlon and Shawn Wayans are very talented individuals, every movie that they’ve written has rotten tomatoes score on the prestigious website. Enter White Chicks, a 2004 film that centers around the two brothers going undercover in the Hamptons as two…well, white chicks. And when I say white chicks, I mean the ugliest white chicks you’ll ever see on screen. The comedy was thrashed by critics, citing offensive humor, hideous undercover disguises as white girls, and horrible social commentary as the reason the film fails to be funny. Currently, the

Marlon Wayans says it’s time for a sequel to “White Chicks.” In the 2004 comedy, he and his brother Shawn Wayans star as FBI agents who pretend to be the young white vapid socialites that they have been assigned to protect from a potential kidnapping. “I think ‘White Chicks 2’ is necessary,” Marlon Wayans tells me. “I think we’ve tightened up so much that we need to loosen our ties a bit and laugh a little bit.” The $37 million film grossed more than $113 million worldwide. “I don’t think Hollywood understands what a juggernaut ‘White Chicks 2’ would be,” Wayans says. The brothers have plenty of story ideas for a sequel. “And the world just keeps giving us more,” Wayans says. “‘White Chicks 2’ is writing itself.”
The actor can now be seen on the big screen playing Aretha Franklin’s (Jennifer Hudson) abusive first husband Ted White.

It was only a matter of time before the most powerful brothers in Hollywood got into business together. In the late ’90s, “Scary Movie,” a comedy that satirized slasher-killer movies, brought three of the Wayans brothers — Marlon, Shawn and Keenen Ivory — to the doorstep of Dimension Films, the boutique horror studio run by Bob and Harvey Weinstein.
According to Marlon, making “Scary Movie” with the Weinsteins for a summer 2000 release was indeed a frightening experience. And not just because he was abruptly fired from making the third movie in the franchise, “Scary Movie 3,” on a holiday.
“[The Weinstein’s are] not the best or the kindest people to be in business with,” Marlon Wayans tells Variety. “They’re very much an evil regime, I guess. They do what they want to do how they do it — and it can be rude and quite disrespectful. We couldn’t come to terms on the deal.

Will Tyler Perry win his third Worst Actress Razzie Award for playing his signature role as Madea in “A Madea Family Funeral”? It was purported to be the final Madea movie, so perhaps the Razzies will want to send him out with a bang — or with a bomb, as it were. But might it also be time to retire the Razzies trend of nominating male actors for female roles?
Perry is certainly not the only male performer who has been nominated across gender categories for playing a role in drag. The stars of the Fox sketch comedy series In Living Color took a walk back in time Saturday, to share details on how the 1990s hit came about during a special screening at the Tribeca Film Festival.
The hit comedy was a result of the then-fledgling Fox network’s desire to “push the envelope,” said Keenan Ivory Wayans, who created, wrote and starred in the program from 20th Century Fox Television.
During an onstage discussion, Wayans recalled meeting with Fox execs after showing them his 1988 feature, I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.
“The TV folks invited me to meet them. I wasn’t looking [to do TV], I wanted to make movies,” said Wayans who was joined by In Living Color alums Shawn Wayans, Kim Wayans, Tommy Davidson and David Alan Grier.

Twenty-five years after the finale of “In Living Color,” creator and star Keenen Ivory Wayans still knows that his groundbreaking show took big chances to make television history.
Speaking at a sold-out Tribeca Film Festival panel honoring the sketch comedy series on Saturday, he said that “the intent of the show was to include everybody. Everybody is going to laugh.” However, he also noted that “you can only be as good as the time period you live in…with the information you have. So, that is what we tried to do. You can do what you wanna do in living color, including reunite 25 years after your TV series comes to an end. That’s what creator/star Keenan Ivory Wayans just did at Tribeca with co-stars Shawn Wayans, Kim Wayans, Tommy Davidson, and David Alan Grier, celebrating the sketch-comedy show’s five-season run in the early ’90s. Though lesser known than late-night standard-bearer “Saturday Night Live,” “In Living Color” launched the careers of Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx, and Jennifer Lopez, among others, while giving voice to a new brand of humor.
Moderated by Aisha Harris of the New York Times, the reunion followed a screening of the pilot episode. Harris put the show’s importance into context, noting that a number of black comedians had risen to fame prior to “In Living Color” premiering in 1990 but that there was still nothing on the air quite like it.

Yikes! Marlon Wayans is not holding back when it comes to criticizing Kim Zolciak's appearance. The 45-year-old actor recently posted a photo of the Real Housewives of Atlanta star to Instagram, seemingly slamming her plastic surgery procedures. The 39-year-old Bravo personality even responded to the embarrassing dig, and fans of both Marlon and Kim were quick to comment their opinions about his post. Watch the video above to see what Marlon wrote shared about Kim!
