Diminutive, dumpy, red-haired comedy actress of flamboyant personality. Often in cockney roles and a familiar foil for Benny Hill, Spike Milligan and Eric Sykes. Started acting in the 1940's at the Unity Theatre. In BBC productions from 1949.
