- Lisa grew up in the Bloor West Village area of Toronto, where where by the time she was 8, she was expressing herself in theatrical productions. After studying theatre arts at York University, she launched her acting career with numerous appearances in TV shows, films and commercials, including Sirens (1994), The Assignment (1997), Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy (1996), and most notably, playing the younger version of the Geena Davis character in The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996).
Lisa then decided to form her own production company, Mighty Brave Productions, to explore her unique brand of storytelling. She had immediate success with her award-winning performance in Last Tango In Transylvania (2000 NYC Fringe Festival), and short films Chasing Aces (2005), Boundless (which aired as an episode of In the Can with JR Digs (2006), and The Gospel of Phi (2007), all of which were recognized by the Canadian Comedy Awards.
In 2010, Lisa began to explore the multimedia possibilities of online video and visual art. She had her first gallery showings in June 2011 at the Phoenix Art Museum and the Film Bar in Phoenix, Arizona. Since then, she has pulled all of her influences and passions together in a one-of-a-kind art practice devoted to the exploration of identity and the discovery of truth through artifice, including her twenty-seven-foot-tall Nuit Blanche installation Queen of the Parade (2013), starring in the film If All You Have Is a Hammer, Everything Looks Like a Nail (2014) for director Will Kwan, and producing the documentary GLACIOLOGY: Further Conversation (2017).
Since 2014 Lisa has been creating immersive otherworldly film based universes for Art Galleries and Festivals. She coined the term "Realistic Confabulation" for her storytelling style, mixing wild fictions with her real life history.
