The eighth season of AMC’s The Walking Dead recently commenced production in southern Georgia, and some of the cast members have begun to share images from the set to their social media accounts. Up until now, they’ve all been fairly innocuous little character teases, but the latest pic from series newcomer Daniel Newman may have just spoiled a pretty major plot point.
Newman, who plays a Kingdom soldier named Daniel, shared an Instagram photo (which has since been deleted) of himself alongside Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Jeremy Palko (Andy), and the trio appear to be hanging out at the Saviors’ compound. This would obviously seems to confirm that Rick will be taking the fight to Negan after the villain’s defeat in the season 7 finale, and it also suggests that a significant battle from the source material is on the horizon.

Season 7 marked a strong year for The Walking Dead, but it was far from perfect and certainly stumbled more than a few times. Despite the fact that many viewers were upset with the brutal deaths of Glenn and Abraham in the premiere, the arrival of Negan was exactly what the show needed and the character proved to be a fascinating villain.
Rick Grimes’ arc, on the other hand, was a little hit and miss. He spent the first half of the season completely passive after being “broken” by Negan, something many fans struggled to accept after years of seeing him being so proactive. That thankfully changed as time went on and he started preparing for all-out war. But what’s to come in season 8 for our beloved protagonist?

The season 7 finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead did give us a showdown (or sorts) between Rick and his allies and Negan’s band of Saviors, but it really didn’t bring us the “All-Out War” promised by both an early synopsis and Robert Kirkman’s source material. Be that as it may, nobody can deny that it was an eventful season when it came to losing some main characters, as Glenn and Abraham bought it in the premiere, and Sasha sacrificed herself in the recent finale.
As such, three series regular spots opened up and from what we understand, they’ve now been filled. According to TV Line, we’ll be seeing a lot more of Steven Ogg, Katelyn Nacon and Pollyanna McIntosh when The Walking Dead returns for its latest season this fall, and the fact that their characters will have expanded roles may give us some...

AMC’s small-screen adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s long-running comic book series, The Walking Dead, has never shied away from following its ruthless source material and killing off main characters, but this was taken to a whole new level when a particularly nasty villain named Negan showed up with a barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bat. Even still, fans have always assumed that Rick Grimes, at least, was safe – however, the man who plays him isn’t quite so sure.
During an interview with The La Times, Andrew Lincoln shared his thoughts on his character’s longevity, and it sounds like he might have accepted that fact that literally nobody is safe on the show anymore. The actor admits that, for the first time, he’s come to see Rick as “expendable,” saying that all bets are off.

When it comes to The Walking Dead I find myself to be very critical of the show. While I tend to stick with it, I find there are often episodes that feature way too much dialogue only to end with a scene of action that makes sure we look forward to the episode to come. With that in mind, how did I find Rock in the Road?
Thankfully as we usually see with the mid-season premier, this is an episode where a lot happens. Now that Daryl (Norman Reedus) has returned to the group, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is ready for action. With Hilltop ready to join in the fight against the wishes of Gregory (Xander Berkeley), Jesus (Tom Payne) decides...

Season 7 of The Walking Dead kicked off with Rick Grimes really being put through the wringer as he had to witness the murder of two of his closest friends before Negan made it clear who’s boss. Since then, he’s been willfully subservient to the leader of the Saviors, something which has irritated fans of the normally tough as nails survivor. Thankfully, things changed in the midseason finale when Rick decided to step up and rally the communities against Negan in what looks set to be an all-out war from here onwards.
Talking in a recent interview, Andrew Lincoln shared his thoughts on how Rick will react to the other groups of survivors and spoke about the fact that he’s now taking a stand against Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s villain.
“I think certainly obviously in the first eight, the realization and all through the end of last season,...

Disclaimer: As always, there will be major spoilers in any Twd comic review.
The Walking Dead issue #163 is the largest Twd comic ever, with preordered numbers exceeding 750,000. This makes it one of the highest sold comics in nearly two decades and there are a few reasons for this. First, the comic is selling at a price of 25¢ and it is a 40-page extended issue. Second, and this may be an even bigger reason, this is the book that is rumored to be Rick Grimes final stand, where he will meet an untimely death at the hands of 10,000 zombies. Finally, if Rick does indeed perish, then Negan would obviously be a big player in both this issue and in the future of Team Alexandria.
So, did our favorite protagonist get crushed, as one of the covers leads you to believe? Read on if you dare!

Rick has never had a great grasp on the people of Alexandria. Despite Deanna's support, he's faced a lot of resistance from within the community, particularly where Spencer is concerned. The latter has been a vocal critic of Rick despite his mother's support for the gun-slinging lawman, and the actions of this week's episode won't give Spencer, or anyone else who doubts Rick's abilities, a reason to second-guess their scepticism of the Ricktatorship. Or rather, the puppet state Rick runs for Negan.

After forcing fans to wait all summer find out who died via the spiked bat of The Walking Dead's new super-villain Negan, the first episode of the new season – "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be" – spent its initial half-hour teasing us some more. When we last saw Rick Grimes and company, things were not looking good for them. Of course, one survivor in particular is going to have a very bad day when The Walking Dead return to AMC on October 23rd, and following the release of that tense sneak peek, they have today announced the title of the season seven premiere along with a brief - and unrevealing - synopsis for the episode. It's going to be called, "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be." What significance does that have? Well, cast your minds back to season one and you may remember that as being the line spoken by Dr. Edwin Jenner at the Center for Disease Control after Rick expressed his gratitude for the chance to leave the building before it exploded and live on. Clearly, the murder of one of his friends by Negan and his trusty baseball bat...

Clip It: Each day, Jon Davis looks at the world of trailers, featurettes and clips and puts it all in perspective. The Walking Dead season 7 trailer was released at Comic-Con today, and it features new footage of comics standout King Ezekiel (and his poorly rendered tiger). But what we're most interested in is the conclusion of cliffhanger that many people found ridiculous: who is Negan going to kill? Since the producers don't want to give it away, most of the trailer depicts the bat Lucille (inanimate though she is) considering each kneeling character with an accompanying flashback. This story has taken too long to be horrifying anymore. At least the comic took us by surprise. We have all summer to picture each character getting beaten to death and Chris Hardwick helping us through it, so put us out of our misery already. Here's who I think Negan's bat Lucille should...

Death is inevitable. We’re all going to die someday, so just be thankful that you’re not living in the world of The Walking Dead where it creeps up on people far quicker than they could ever hope.
It may seem like the lazy way out to simply kill off a character for effect, but in a world overflowing with rotting flesh-eaters, it’s the easiest way to move storylines along while producing immense drama and generally making us all cry.
First up, can we just address a pretty major issue? You don’t really think anybody’s making it out of this show alive, do you? If you’re clinging to the hope that there’s a happy ending after all is said and done, then I can only commend, respect, admire and ultimately pity you.

Spoilers for tonight's "The Walking Dead" coming up just as soon as there are people in my proximity with open toed shoes... Yup. They screwed it up. Even more than I imagined they could at first. The morning after "Thank You" aired — and after Scott Gimple's weird statement to "Talking Dead" (more on that in a bit) — I wrote that the series had inadvertently created a no-win scenario, by turning what had seemed to be Glenn's certain death into something more ambiguous after the fact. As a result, one of two things was going to happen: 1)Fans upset that one of their favorite characters had suffered such a meaningless death would be given false hope, then made even angrier because Glenn was really dead; or 2)Glenn's survival, no matter the mechanism, would not only render him (and Rick, Carol, and other core characters) invulnerable going forward, but obliterate the...

The future of Harmon and Justin Roiland's Adult Swim series "Rick and Morty," on the other hand, seems so secure that, in an interview earlier this week, the two creators made several casual references to things they intend to do in season 3. Finishing up its first season run with last night's spectacular finale, "The Flash" will return to The CW in the Fall with one hell of a cliffhanger to resolve.
"The Flash" Season Finale Spoilers Ahead
By the end of the season finale, Barry Allen had fully accepted his Flash identity and was trying to use his super speed to negate a growing black hole above Central City. Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) is dead, and Reverse Flash/fake Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) has been erased from existence.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has now spoken with THR to answer some of the big lingering questions left by that finale. First up, he confirms Tom Cavanagh will be back and will continue to be a regular next season. He was also asked if Rick Cosnett will return as Eddie?
"The great thing with our show - you saw it with Colin Donnell and...

Earlier this season, "The Walking Dead" hammered home the notion that the world had been irrevocably changed, and that our heroes must continue pushing forward -- adapting to their new life and new surroundings, and refusing to live in the past -- in order to survive. "We can't go back" became a mantra of sorts, adopted by Rick and co. to excuse the terrible things they've had to do throughout the series's run, and convince themselves to keep going despite every urge to give up, and every loss they've encountered along the way. Even Gareth, the cannibalistic gang leader at Terminus, spouted those words, convinced that he was doing the right thing as he slit people's throats in order to feast on their flesh.
So viewers no doubt experienced a bit of whiplash when a new mantra entered the fold during last night's season five finale, "Conquer," which offered a...

Every fan of the Walking Dead will have certain expectations for every episode; Rick will talk about solemnly about survival, Carl will be whiny as hell (making you inevitably hope that this is the one where he dies) and Daryl will do something very manly whilst looking very dirty.
Daryl is one of the show’s favourite characters precisely because of his loyal devotion to his friends – even if it is guarded – and his unfailing ability to kill walkers in any and all conceivable manner. He is the ultimate man; a primal hunter with both a bad side and a soft side and when you see him cry, you cry too and get up off of your sofa and lick the television screen to comfort him.
Okay, so maybe that’s just some fans.
And because he is one of your favourites, it would be interesting to see the journey from his perspective.

A major power struggle is a-brewin' in Alexandria, and for once, it may be Rick and (some of) his people who are on the wrong side of the equation. This week's episode of "The Walking Dead," entitled "Spend," made it clear that the community was not without its flaws: Jessie is almost certainly being abused by her husband, Pete; Deanna's son, Aiden (the a-hole who nearly got his search party killed a couple weeks ago), and his pal, Nick, prove that they're every bit the jerks we thought they were by confessing that they abandoned four people to be eaten simply because they got spooked; construction foreman Tobin nearly lets one of his workers get devoured by an oncoming horde (before Abraham mercifully and badassedly steps in) simply because that's just protocol.
But for all Alexandria's faults, it seems that the settlement isn't exactly Woodbury or Terminus, either -- at least,...

The 3Xk storyline makes a welcome return in this week's episode of Castle...
This review contains spoilers.
7.14 Resurrection
Jerry Tyson has Ed Turner. Sorry, that’s an anagram, as Castle point out in the last minutes of Resurrection. Jerry Tyson has returned.
I try never to watch the previews for episodes on shows I am reviewing so that those carefully edited scenes don’t led me astray when I start writing. As a result, I rarely know what an episode is going to be about until I sit down to watch it. So when it became clear very early on that Resurrection was carrying on the 3Xk storyline, I was so surprised and pleased, I actually yelped.
Because while Castle is really good when it does its fun episodes, my favorites are always the myth arc episodes. Please forgive my exuberance in advance.

Casablanca Screens at The Hi-Pointe Theater in St. Louis Saturday morning February 14th at 10:30am
Casablanca was the last movie that the Tivoli showed in the 35mm format (about 2 years ago) – and now you’ll have the chance to see it presented in a sharp digital presentation when it plays this Saturday morning at The Hi-Pointe as part of their monthly Classic Film Series.
I there was ever a film deserved to be considered a classic then Casablanca is it, Even if you haven’t seen it before you’ll recognize much of the dialogue; it is probably the most quoted, and misquoted, film of all time. Humphrey Bogart is excellent in this career defining role as bar owner Rick Blaine who has come into possession of two “letters of transit” which...

By the time "The Walking Dead" Season 5 returns on Sunday, February 8, 2015, more than two months will have passed since the dramatic events of the midseason finale. There's a lot to look forward to in the eight episodes to come, including more characters and content from the comic books, and - of course - the dramatic fallout from Beth Greene's (Emily Kinney) death in the Grady hospital storyline. Here are five things to keep in mind as we approach the second half of AMC's zombie apocalypse juggernaut.
1. Episode 9 Called One of the Best Episodes in "Twd" History
Season 5, Episode 9 is the next new episode coming our way in February, and it's meant to be visually unique, very emotional, and so good it's been dubbed the best. We may feel differently - it may end up being a polarizing episode - but the praise comes from people involved with the show who...

Castle‘s seventh season already has proven to be a landmark one, in that Rick and Kate finally (finally) tied the knot. But this cycle could also make its mark in other ways, as leads Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic will have to make a decision about their future with the trusty ABC procedural.
Here in Part 2 of my sit-down with Katic, she previews the ersatz Caskett honeymoon to come (airing tonight at 10/9c), sings the praises of a showcase for a fellow cast member and ponders the possibility of Season 8 (and beyond).

The Walking Dead, Season 5, Episode 2: “Strangers”
Directed by David Boyd
Written by Robert Kirkman
Airs Sundays at 9pm Et on AMC
After last week’s action extravaganza, “Strangers” is unsurprisingly a much quieter episode of The Walking Dead. Written by comic creator Robert Kirkman, “Strangers” follows the entire group traveling side by side, and introduces us to a new character (the mysterious Father Gabriel played by Seth Gilliam). The group takes shelter in a church, before making a decision about Abraham’s proposed plan for D.C.; meanwhile Bob discovers a new horror lurking in the woods. Gareth and his Terminus buddies are back for more disgusting cannibal mayhem.
“No Sanctuary” is a fantastic episode and was an exciting way to kick of the fifth season. It features some of the best action sequences of the series history, but the more pressing questions about Terminus and Beth’s whereabouts...
