- Wrote the landmark DC Comic series Crisis on Infinite Earths.
- Marv Wolfman helped expand the concept of comprehensive credits for writers in mainstream comic books. This occurred in 1969 when the DC horror comic, "House of Secrets," #83 had the host character in the issue's framing story mention that he is going to tell a story, written by Marv Wolfman, that he said was told to him by a "Wandering Wolfman," The American comic book censor bureau, the Comics Code Authority, refused to approve the story because that line meant that it had a werewolf in it, which was explicitly forbidden by the Code. Wolfman's editor protested and explained that he wrote the line because the writer's actual surname is Wolfman. In response, the CCA insisted on a formal writing credit in the story to show that fact, which was done. After that incident, all the talent at DC Comics demanded that they have their own names be given equivalent credits and thus official credits became standard practice.
- Created the current iteration of Robin (Robin III/Tim Drake) for DC comics. The character has remained popular for nearly twenty years and has its own self-titled long-running series.
- Created the character of Hannibal King (played by Ryan Reynolds in 'Blade: Trinity (2004)') for the comic book "Tomb of Dracula" #25.
- Former Editor-In-Chief of Marvel Comics.
- Created the character 'Bullseye' for Daredevil comics.
- Longtime comic writer who had long runs on Tomb of Dracula for Marvel and New Teen Titans for DC Comics.
- Longtime writer of Marvel Comics' Tomb Of Dracula series, which is where Blade the Vampire Hunter made his first appearance. The character was later adapted to film form with Wesley Snipes in the starring role. In addition to that horror title, Marvel could not resist the opportunity to assign him to write a few stories for the concurrent title, "Werewolf by Night," with the first credit playfully noting in an editor's note, "At last -- Werewolf -- written by a Wolfman.".
