I have never seen a Wong Kar Wai film. Assuming that visitors to a Wong Kar Wai message board would be more capable of answering my questions, where do you think I should start - that is with what film(s)?

I would assume some value to watching them in some natural chronology. Since more recent films might bare marks best understood with familiarity to the director's other works.

So what films are most pertinent to my watching? What order should I attempt to view them in?

Part of my wanting to watch his films is due to reading something about his films addressing issues described as "romantic melancholy" and I am interested in that, but I ask you, Wong Kar Wai afficianados, is that an apt description of his work?
