As tradition would have it, director James Gunn released an all-new mixtape across digital streaming platforms marking the Nov. 25 premiere of “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” on Disney+.
Set to an assortment of Christmas tunes hand-selected by Gunn, the holiday special follows Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Drax (Dave Bautista) on a quest to kidnap actor Kevin Bacon from Earth and bring him back to Peter (Chris Pratt) as a Christmas gift.
The corresponding playlist — titled “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Awesome Mix” — consists of 11 tracks, which are a mixture of needle drops and original songs used in the one-off. Gunn enlisted the help of Rhett Miller, frontman of the Old 97’s, to write the special’s comedic opening number, “I Don’t Know What Christmas Is (But Christmastime Is Here).”
“When I wrote a song for the #GotGHolidaySpecial I asked my pal @rhettmiller to write with me & then said,...

While there were plenty of reasons for fans to be excited about the “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special,” one was certainly the soundtrack. Writer/director James Gunn took great pride in putting together the curated soundtrack for the first “Guardians” movie in 2014, which not only became a hallmark of the franchise but also kicked off a slew of imitators.
Gunn took the same care in choosing the songs for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and, of course, this holiday special for which he put his Christmas music knowledge to the test.
Below, we’ve put together a complete list of all the songs in the “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special,” which includes an original song written by Gunn and performed by Old ‘97s called “I Don’t Know What Christmas Is (But Christmastime Is Here).”

With its devoted, Gen Z audience, Webtoon has emerged as a vital platform on which up-and-coming creators can share their artistic work. Since 2020, the platform has paid out more than 27 million to the creators of its webcomics, and now, one of those comics is getting a screen adaptation.
Brat TV, which is known for launching serial programs that feature social media influencers in their starring roles, is adapting The Four of Them, one of the buzziest webcomics on Webtoon. True to form, the three-episode series will be led by a number of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube stars. Jack Wright, one of the original members of Hype House, will take the lead as Johnny, one member of the titular foursome. TikTokers Savanah Moss, Gianna Marie, and Leilani Green will join the cast, as will actors like Emily Brolin who have more traditional backgrounds.

Grange Hill. The only school kids ever seemed to be interested in. Us included…
At your school, did anyone die in the swimming pool? Did you have to contend with vicious bullies (and we’re talking about the teachers!)? Did everyone have London accents coarse enough to strip the paint off the classroom doors? Yes? Flippin’ ’eck, you must have gone to Grange Hill!
If you grew up in the 1980s but don’t have a fondness for Grange Hill, there’s probably only one explanation: you were banned from watching it. Yep, for those of us who could get away with it, this rites-of-passage drama series about the pupils of a north-London comprehensive was must-see television, but by parents and teachers it was generally despised. It all started in 1978, and continues to this day (just about), but its golden age was undoubtedly the 1980s.

He was once voted the funniest man on television. He was later vilified as a sexist pig who objectified and demeaned women. Benny Hill has always been a magnet for controversy. Was he a comedy pioneer who ushered in a new level of racy rowdiness to television or was he a misogynistic pervert who set back the cause of female empowerment by decades? Whichever side of the fence you’re on in the debate, no one can deny that Benny Hill made his mark on popular culture. Benny Hill: the Complete Mega-Set delivers 20 years worth of Hill’s unforgettable antics.
Even decades later, who can hear the catchy saxophone tune “Yakety Sax” without thinking of Benny Hill? The highlight of his 50 year show business career was the sketch comedy series, The Benny Hill Show, which ran from 1969-1989. Produced for Thames Television, the show was a ground-breaking piece of raucous,...
