- Steve Wynn is most notable for his contributions to the hotel and gaming industry in Las Vegas. Wynn has also left a mark in the film industry, primarily through the use of lending his hotels as backdrops for movies. In 1997, he lent The Mirage resort for the filming of Vegas Vacation starring Chevy Chase. The Mirage was also featured in The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013. as well as Ocean's Eleven in 2001, and The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013. The Bellagio was heavily featured in 2001's Ocean's Eleven, which showcased Wynn's extravagant Fountains of Bellagio attraction that takes place on the resort's 8-acre man-made lake. Its sequel, Ocean's Thirteen, featured the resort once more in 2007. In 2015, Paul Blart Mall Cop 2, was filmed at Wynn Las Vegas.
Wynn has also received special thanks from the production team at Vegas Vacation. Additionally, he served as Executive Producer for the TV Special, Cher...at the Mirage, which aired in 1990.
Throughout his five-decade career, he has placed performance at the center of his hotels. The Mirage and the Bellagio featured the great acrobatic feats of Cirque du Soleil. Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Las Vegas houses the Encore theater, which showcases theatrical and musical shows. and is home to Le Reve, an acrobatic production set inside an aquatic theater-in-the-round. Wynn has also served on the Board of Trustees for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which produces 3,500 performances annually across the greater Washington D.C. area.
After retiring from the hotel and hospitality industry in 2018, Wynn switched his focus from performing arts to fine art.
