The last time audiences saw Peyton List's Maddie Nears, she had just remembered that she wasn't ever killed in the first place. Instead, another spirit belonging to the mysterious Janet Hamilton forcefully took over her body.
To make matters worse, she all but lost her best friend in the real world and was blindsided by the betrayal of Josh Zuckerman's Mr. Martin.

"You don't recognize me, do you? Even though we've met a thousand times..." Breaking Glass Pictures has revealed a new trailer for a strange time travel sci-fi thriller titled Variant, which is written & directed by a filmmaker named Tony Leech (he also co-directed 2005's Hoodwinked). This hasn't been seen many places yet and doesn't look like it's really anything worth talking about, another of these junk indie sci-fi films that will be instantly forgotten upon release. Huh. When an artist struggling for purpose meets a mysterious yet charming stranger, she becomes entangled in his twisted attempts to "relive the perfect moment". It's hard to tell from this trailer - is he an android? Does he have a time machine? Are they in a simulation? Wtf is going on in this. Ashlynn Yennie stars with Dino Antoniou, Sonalii Castillo, Josh Zuckerman, and Chelsea Yakura-Kurtz. This really looks like one big mess.

Christopher Nolan is getting a big endorsement for Oppenheimer from Paul Schrader who is praising his latest film.
In a post on Facebook, the Taxi Driver screenwriter and American Gigolo director shared a photo alongside Nolan giving high marks to the movie about the atomic bomb.
“Oppenheimer. The best, most important film of this century,” Schrader wrote. “If you see one film in cinemas this year it should be Oppenheimer. I’m not a Nolan groupie but this one blows the doors off the hinges.”
Oppenheimer has already been getting positive reactions from film critics following its multiple screenings.
The film stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist credited as the “father of the atomic bomb.” The film is directed and written by Nolan and is based on “American Prometheus” by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

Christopher Nolan kicked off Universal’s CinemaCon presentation today in Las Vegas, taking the stage to talk about his thriller Oppenheimer, which releases in July. Cillian Murphy stars as the titular J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist whose work on the Manhattan Project led to the creation of the atomic bomb.
“I’m here with a story in the story of J Robert Oppenheimer,” Nolan said. “I know of no more dramatic tale with higher stakes, twists and turns and ethical dilemmas. … The finest minds in the country were in a desperate race against the Nazis to harness the power of the atom in World War II. Picture those same minds realizing the possibility that they might set fire to the entire world, yet they went ahead and pushed the button. I wanted to be there and see what that might be like.”

She claims she’s been busy working on her portfolio and, of course, she doesn’t mention being out in the woods all alone with a shovel after the homecoming dance.
Simon’s also a little distracted and is wearing mismatched socks for his interview with Northwestern. He’s hoping the Northwestern alum will understand that he’s been thinking about his best friend being murdered. Simon admits he doesn’t think it makes any sense that the janitor killed her. Chances are good that, if you know me in the real world, you’ve heard me repeat/paraphrase/mangle the Samuel Johnson quote, “[W]hen a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.” I believe that deeply.
Allow me to mangle/paraphrase the quote further, because while Johnson never said, “[W]hen a man is tired of ghosts, he is tired of the afterlife,” I’m beginning to believe that I am, indeed, suffering from ghost fatigue. Which is not, in fact, a less appreciated Mission: Impossible sequel.
The show with the poor fortune to trigger this growing apparition-apathy is Paramount+’s middling boo-dunnit School Spirits. But it could just as easily have been ABC’s middling comedy Not Dead Yet or a mini-marathon of CBS’ Ghosts or lingering memories of last summer’s instantly forgotten (but actually better than middling) Netflix series Boo, Bitch. School is difficult enough, but it's about to be more difficult for a teenager named Maddie (played by Peyton List), tasked with solving her murder.
Paramount+ dropped the official teaser for School Spirits this week, and it looks set to be one of the most talked-about shows of the year so far.
The trailer introduces us to Maddie, a teenager who finds herself dead, and her spirit is stuck at school.
Maddie has no idea how she died, but she can see the reactions from the other students in the school as she tries to comprehend how she got stuck there.
The minute she tries to step foot off the school grounds, she's taken back to the crime scene.
It's a compelling hook for a teen drama, and the official trailer makes it seem like this one is worth watching.

Spirited is a Christmas musical comedy streaming on Apple TV+, starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds. It is co-written and directed by Sean Anders.
The tables are turned, and this Christmas it is the Ghost of Christmas Present who must do some reevaluating.
Premise
This year’s target of the Ghost of Christmas Present is the ruthless businessman, Clint Briggs. As Present describes him, “he’s like the prefect combination of Mussolini and Seacrest.” His dark soul must be reformed by a visit from three spirits. Things will not follow the traditional process, when Christmas Present has to contend with Briggs who will shrewdly subject the Ghost to his own journey through his past, present and future.
Spirited (2022) Movie Review
A movie that has Will Ferrell written all over it: it is edgy but within limits. It goes ever so slightly beyond the canons of Christmas movies, managing to bring us something outside the norm.

Regarded as one of the best films of all time, “The Godfather” was released in 1972. The film was adapted from Mario Puzo’s best-selling 1969 novel and is set in the 1940s, following the Mafia family the Corelones in New York.
Marlon Brando played The Godfather himself, Don Vito Corleone, who passes down his gangster ties to his sons Sonny (James Caan) and Michael (Al Pacino). Michael has distanced himself from the involvement of his family in crime, but he comes back into the fold after violence claims his Sicilian wife, and he returns home to marry Kay (Diane Keaton) a non-Italian.
The film won the Oscars for Best Picture, Actor (Brando) and Adapted Screenplay and gave birth to one of the best sequels ever made. And now, the story behind the story is being told.

Paramount+ is going to the mattresses on April 28. The streamer will debut the first three episodes of The Offer. Based on the experiences of producer Albert S. Ruddy, played by Miles Teller, the original miniseries is about the making of Francis Ford Coppola’s 1972 gangster classic, The Godfather. But it is really a love story to early 1970s filmmaking. Paramount+ will also add remastered versions of the full Godfather trilogy to its streaming library. Promoted as an epic tale of betrayal, power, and murder, the first film is an allegory to the American dream, corporate malfeasance, and family. The film trilogy, as a whole, can be seen as a metaphor for the motion picture industry at the end of the 20th Century.

From the day Nicole Clemens took the reins of Paramount Television Studios in 2018, she fielded calls about whether “The Godfather” was available for development as a TV series.
The answer was always no. “The Godfather” — Francis Ford Coppola’s 1972 masterpiece that begat 1974’s “The Godfather: Part II” and 1990’s “The Godfather: Part III” — is among the most valuable assets in the Paramount Pictures vault.
Clemens couldn’t help thinking about all of those inquiries a year later when she took a general meeting with nonagenarian producer Albert S. Ruddy, whose quirky résumé ranges from “The Godfather” to “Hogan’s Heroes” to “Walker, Texas Ranger.” As he regaled her with tales of his transformation in the late 1960s from a computer programmer for Rand Corp. to Hollywood producer, she began to think that Ruddy’s story of breaking in as an outsider could be the Pov for a series about the making of “The Godfather.

Author and naturalist Bradley Trevor Greive will appear as an animated globetrotting wildlife expert on Netflix in October via Kapow Pictures and Mission Control Media’s Adventure Beast.
Produced with the streamer’s unscripted department, the series stars a 2D version of the Penguin Bloom co-author that travels the world, getting into zany misadventures while imparting weird and wonderful nature factoids.
Greive voices the character and is also a writer alongside Kapow co-founder Mark Gravas, who also directs. There are further voice contributions from Danice Cabanela and Josh Zuckerman.
Executive producing are Mission Control Media’s Michael Agbabian and Dwight D. Smith, alongside Gravas, fellow Kapow co-founder Sandra Walters, Greive, and Brian Frange. Brent Burnette is co-executive producer.
The idea originated in 2014, when Gravas made some animated shorts featuring a costumed Greive talking about his animal encounters and lesser-known wildlife facts.

Exclusive: Filming on The Offer, Paramount+’s upcoming limited series about the making of The Godfather, was suspended due to a positive test in the central Zone A that includes the cast and those interacting with them, Deadline has learned.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily halted production on The Offer due to the return of a positive coronavirus test result during routine testing,” a rep for series producer Paramount Television Studios said in a statement to Deadline about the production pause, which came Wednesday. “We will continue to follow all safety protocols and monitor the situation closely.”
The development comes amid a surge of the Delta Covid variant in Los Angeles. HBO’s Westworld and FX’s American Horror Story also recently paused production over positive Covid tests.
