Not long ago, Netflix released the trailer for Season 3, and Polin fans are already obsessing over the transformation of their favorite characters.
It's all thanks to the costume, makeup and hair designers, who went all out with color theory to show how much both Mr. Bridgerton and Ms. Featherington have grown since last season.
Colin and Penelope's Season 3 Transformation
On April 11, 2024, a brand new trailer was released, the details of which can tell us a lot about the production quality of the new episodes. And of course, the main magnets of the new trailer are Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).
'In Seasons 1 and 2, we emphasized all the rounds, so his hair was quite round. His costume also had a lot of frills, so we didn't see his square jawline,' Erika Ökvist, the show's Emmy Award-winning hair and makeup designer, told TV Line about Colin.
Oh yeah,...

“Brother, under what foreign sun did you apparently get so sturdy,” an amused Benedict grills his younger sibling Colin in a recent Bridgerton trailer. To be fair, he has a point.
The Netflix drama’s upcoming third season, premiering with the first four episodes on Thursday, May 16, finds Colin appearing less boyish and more like a man ready to win Penelope’s heart after insulting her at last season’s Featherington Ball.

Time away from the Ton was very good to Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). The middle Bridgerton sibling steps into the spotlight in the highly-anticipated third season of the Netflix series. Upon his return, the debonair Colin has all the young ladies swooning with his updated wardrobe and perfectly coifed (and very voluminous) hair. Costume designer John Glaser and hair and makeup designer Erika Ökvist dish the details on Colin’s makeover in Bridgerton Season 3. “Well, first of all, John switched him up, and he also comes with incredible bone structure,” Ökvist tells TV Insider of Newton’s new look. “I mean, those cheekbones, that really square jawline, and his eyebrows are almost like seagull wings. If you look up any kind of cartoon hero picture, it’s pretty much him. In Seasons 1 and 2 we used soft and round shapes on him so he feels younger.” Glaser brings up how Colin...

How did “Bridgerton’s” Queen Charlotte meet her king? It’s time to find out thanks to a clip of their meet-cute, shared Saturday by Netflix as part of the streamer’s Tudum fan festival. (Watch the clip above.)
Young Queen Charlotte, played by India Amarteifio is determined to flee some sort of event (and what sounds like an arranged marriage) by climbing up a flowering and somewhat thorny vine. Corey Mylchreest, who plays Young King George, stumbles upon her, and not knowing who he is, she asks for his help in getting over the wall.
But, while she tries angle after angle, he refuses her requests and reveals his true identity, leaving her stunned.
The clip is fans’ first real look at the show, with Amarteifio bringing to life the beloved character originated by actress Golda Rosheuvel in “Bridgerton.”

As Season 3 of “Making the Cut” hits Prime Video Friday, Aug. 19, mentor Tim Gunn tells TheWrap how “Project Runway’s” major success delayed the start of its fellow design competition show.
“[‘Making the Cut’] actually is the show that Heidi [Klum] and I’ve wanted to do for years, but because of the success of ‘Project Runway,’ no one would let us tamper with the format,” Gunn told TheWrap.
Compared to “Project Runway,” which Klum hosted alongside Gunn as the designers’ mentor from 2004 to 2018, Gunn sees the Prime Video series as “a much broader conversation,” which takes designers’ brands and overall potential into account during judging.

After working closely with each other throughout “Bridgerton” Season 2, it was only fitting that costume designer Sophie Canale learned she was nominated for an Emmy from hair and makeup designer — and fellow nominee — Erika Ökvist.
“I actually found out through Erika calling me, which was a lovely surprise,” Canale, who is up for the Outstanding Period Costumes award for Episode 207, “Harmony,” said during TheWrap’s screening series, featuring the “Bridgerton” team. “And it was just so nice for us to both to have that conversation together.”
“Yeah, I was so happy,” Erika, who got a nom for Outstanding Period And/Or Character Hairstyling for the Season 2 finale – “The Viscount Who Loved Me” added. “I was so happy because I was on set. And Annie Laks [senior vice president of creative content] from Shondaland phoned me and was like, ‘Hey, I think – yeah,...

“The most important thing about this job is to find the character,” declares hair and makeup designer Erika Ökvist, the artist responsible for the myriad of period looks on the Netflix drama “Bridgerton.” The second season of the hit Regency-era romance centers around Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) as he searches for a suitable wife. Anthony’s practicality leads him to court Miss Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), whose elder sister Kate (Simone Ashley) serves as an object of frustration and fascination for young Anthony. In our exclusive video interview (watch above), Ökvist describes the logistics in creating the dazzling and varied period looks and why she believes in the collaborative process.
SEEKris Bowers interview: ‘Bridgerton’ composer
Ökvist’s work begins with a series of fittings during which the character’s look is established. Collaborating with the costume designer, production designer and the actor, Ökvist works to create what she calls the “DNA” of the character.

This is the second year for the Makeup and Hairstylists Guild joining the awards game, and they've been a welcome addition to the circuit. They spread their nods thin across a number of categories, but it's a good window into what this branch digs, for sure. This year, the only two films on the Academy's bake-off list of finalists that didn't garner any recognition were "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and "Noah." Meaning "Foxcatcher," "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Maleficent" and "The Theory of Everything" were each represented in one form or another. Meanwhile, "Guardians of the Galaxy" led with the most mentions at three, while "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Interstellar" and "Into the Woods" each got a pair. As previously announced, Oscar-winning make-up artist Rick Baker and Emmy-nominated hair stylist Kathryn Blondell will receive the Guild's Lifetime Achievement Awards.
