What happens to a one-hit-wonder girlband when their allocated 15 minutes of fame comes to an abrupt end, and they’re no longer the hottest young things in coordinated but subtly different outfits?
It’s a question answered in all-singing, all-dancing style by effervescent sitcom Girls5eva, which debuted on US streamer Peacock in 2021 but is now finally available to stream on Netflix, where a third season will arrive later this year. Created by Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt writer Meredith Scardino and exec-produced by Tina Fey, this underrated gem has enough energy and emotion to fill stadiums, and more Nineties-style pop treats than an ancient Now That’s What I Call Music disc. It’s This Is Spinal Tap for turn-of-the-millennium girl groups, turning the synths up to 11.

"It's a lifestyle, Garage." Platinum Pictures has revealed an official trailer for a music documentary called, very simply: 25 Years of UK Garage. One of the most descriptive titles of the year, as the film is literally about 25 years of UK garage music and the dance music scene in Britain. Made by the same filmmakers behind United Nation Three Decades of Drum & Bass. 25 Years of UK Garage provides insight into the stories of the DJ's and Mc's from the UK Garage dance music scene over the past two and a half decades. The "Garage Nation" scene is very specific to the UK, though it has spread worldwide thanks to the internet. The doc film features appearances from Richie Campbell, Anthony Joshua, Mc Harvey, Leo Ihenacho, Ms. Dynamite, Lisa Maffia, Megaman, So Solid Crew, Dane Bowers, M.C. Creed, DJ Majestic, Mc Bushkin, Heartless Crew, DJ Swiss, DJ Pds, Oxide & Neutrino, Scott Garcia.

Spoilers, as Andy Serkis chats to us about round off the Apes trilogy with War For The Planet Of The Apes...
Now that the Caesar trilogy of Planet Of The Apes movies has been completed, and War For The the Planet Of The Apes is about to join the others on Blu-ray, it's going to be entirely possible, and extremely tempting, to sit down and watch the character's entire journey in a single session. Well, I say 'extremely tempting' - I actually mean completely inevitable.
I met up with Serkis to discuss the release of War For The Planet Of The Apes, and thought we could use the session to track his performance of Caesar across an entire lifetime. I was also interested in some under-discussed potential and practices of performance capture. Here's how our conversation went. Strictly speaking, there are spoilers ahead.

What will gradually dawn on you about Heroes of the Monkey Tavern is what it doesn’t contain. No item wear; no exterior environments (in fact, very little variation in environments at all); no ammo counters; no gameplay variation; and no real story to speak of. It opens with a static painting of the titular tavern. Your silhouetted heroes are approached by a stranger, who speaks of a dungeon with untold treasures. Off you go, into the darkness.
Once down there, you will work your way up through a series of levels – seven floors and a boss level, all told – fighting a generic selection of fantasy enemies: orcs, skeletons, mummies, goblins etc. Your party is yours to choose, and once again the options are fantasy staples: warrior, ranger, priest, blah. Torchlight flickers on brownstone walls; competent, moody music summons hints of Howard Shore’s Two Towers score; secret walls slide...

I happen to love chess. I think it’s far and away the best board game that measures intelligence. When I think of chess I actually think of the piano. You have to wonder how in depth a person’s brain has to be to come up with the concept of a piano. I mean do you realize how many combinations 88 keys makes? The progression from one key to the next? The infinite amount of possibilities? I feel like chess is the same way. There are nearly an unlimited amount of combinations in this game and you can create what feels

Dear Mrs Burley,
I have a question. As a journalist with ‘…over a million minutes of presenting live TV’ - as your Twitter bio informs us - are you not aware of basic Journalism concepts?
Have you fallen so deep into Mr Murdoch’s pocket that terms such as objectivity, impartiality and balanced opinion have become as disposable as the media in which you now preside over?
To sit and watch your embarrassing attempt at ‘journalism’ during the interview with Merlin Entertainment Chief Executive Nick Varney was…well…painful. You alluded to the most farcical interview style, one driven purely by content and controversy, failing to give any form of balanced insight throughout. What’s more you attacked a man based on hearsay, speculation and an aggressive agenda styled round the trash produced by Fox News and the like (yet another convenient entity of Rupert Murdoch’s empire).

Britain's Got Talent continued its exciting semi-final week tonight (May 26) as Old Men Grooving and Jules O'Dwyer and her performing dog Matisse advanced.
The best news came for Jules and her dancing pooch as they actually earned an automatic advancement by topping the public vote, while Old Men Grooving beat Revelation Avenue in a second-place battle.
Dance troupe Groove Thing, contortionist Bonetics, illusionist Michael Late and singer Alison Jiear were given less encouraging news, as they won't be moving on.
We gather reactions to tonight's Britain's Got Talent episode below:
1. The surviving acts have their supporters – and their very famous detractors!

Revelation avenue are off. And the revelation is that too much fried chicken is bad for you #Bgt

I fear Britains running out of talent #Bgt
— Chris Stark (@Chris_Stark) May 26, 2015

Anthony Mann
As much as any other filmmaker who found a niche in a given genre, in the 10 Westerns Anthony Mann directed from 1950 to 1958 he carved out a place in film history as one who not only reveled in the conventions of that particular form, but also as one who imbued in it a distinct aesthetic and narrative approach. In doing so, Mann created Westerns that were simultaneously about the making of the West as a historical phenomenon, as well as about the making of its own developing cinematic genus. At the same time, he also established the traits that would define his auteur status, formal devices that lend his work the qualities of a director who enjoyed, understood, and readily exploited and manipulated a type of film's essential features.

Dane Bowers has denied dating Alicia Douvall.
The singer took to Twitter to respond to reports that he and the former Celebrity Big Brother housemate were seeing each other for eight months.
Bowers wrote: "Wow! Just read that Alicia said she was "seeing me" for eight months??? Wow!! I think I've Met her three times?! Most amazing bulls**t yet!"
Douvall became the second housemate to be evicted from Celebrity Big Brother on Friday (January 23).
Katie Price previously shocked the Celebrity Big Brother housemates by revealing that she took an overdose following her split with Bowers.

Alicia Douvall thinks Katie Price is ''jealous'' of her. The 35-year-old model - who also dated two of Katie's ex's, Dwight Yorke and Dane Bowers - has revealed that her 'Celebrity Big Brother' housemate has an ''underlying insecurity''. No.1's Week. Movie Week. '80s Week. Zzzzz.
Is it any wonder that X Factor ratings are tumbling when the show's theme weeks continue to be so predictable? Someone is singing 'Listen' from Dreamgirls you say? Gosh, we've never heard that before.
In the spirit of goodwill, we've got some suggestions that might spice things up and get some songs on a Saturday night that we haven't heard murdered 256 times before.
1. Sing Your Name Week
Inspired by the brilliantly named Ben Haenow, who could perform Crowded House's 'Don't Dream It's Over' ("Hey Now! Hey Now!"), everyone has to sing a song connected to their name.
Fleur East can tackle anything by East 17, Stereo Kicks can tackle a Stereophonics vs Rizzle Kicks mash-up, Lola Saunders can tackle the Kinks classic, Jack Walton could attempt 'Hit The Road Jack' and Only The Young could murder 'We Are Young'.
2. Simon Cowell...

Well, that was intense. If it wasn't Girl Thing at each other's throats in Ireland or Kavana 'not putting the effort in' at 5th Story's studio sessions, it all got a bit heated in Big Reunion land - we needed at least three cuppas to handle the drama. But we survived, and we're all a bit more knowledgeable - here's what we learned from this week's episode...
1. Jodi Albert agreed to host Girl Thing's reunion at the Irish mansion she shares with Kian Egan.
Honestly, what was she thinking? How those tasteful sofas escaped without blood splatter, we'll never know. On the other hand, maybe it's because almost the first thing Jodi said to Linzi when seeing her for the first time in 13 years was that she had to take her shoes off or Kian would kill them.
2. Everyone in Girl Thing was terrified about the reunion.

5th Story performed for the very first time at 'The Big Reunion' concert last night (21.02.14). The newly-formed super-group roused fans at London's Hammersmith Apollo with a set comprised of songs made famous by each of the band members, including Another Level's Dane Bowers, Blazin' Squad's Kenzie, Gareth Gates, Kavana and Adam Rickitt. The group's set list featured Another Level's 'Freak Me', Blazin' Squad's 'Flip Reverse', Adam's 'I Breathe Again', Kavana's 'I Can Make You Feel Good' and finally, closing the show, Gareth's number one hit 'Spirit in the Sky'. Speaking to Bang Showbiz after the concert, Dane revealed it was ''difficult'' to...

The Big Reunion is doing something different this series, by forming a brand new supergroup! 5th Story might not have stories of their tensions as a band, but Dane Bowers, Gareth Gates, Kavana, Kenzie and Adam Rickitt certainly didn't hold back about their time in the spotlight in tonight's show. Read on to find out what we learned from their confessions...
1. We miss Pop Idol.
Who knew? But seeing just a glimpse of Gareth Gates on Pop Idol back in the day brought memories flooding back of Dr Fox and Pete Waterman, of Ant & Dec hosting (we forgot!) and of how generally all-round great it was. So thanks for that, Big Reunion.
2. Gareth Gates regrets denying the whole "Katie Price" thing.
"We saw each other for about three or four months and it was fun - she's a really lovely, lovely girl," Gareth said nervously, as the show flashed up...

The Big Reunion star Adam Rickitt opens up about his struggle with bulimia in this week's episode.
The former Coronation Street hunk - who is in the show as part of brand new supergroup 5th Story - explained that his attempt to be something he wasn't at boarding school put too much pressure on him.
"For two years I made myself sick, from one time a day to 15, 20 times a day," Rickitt says. "To the point I'd be throwing up blood. But I didn't care because it was a way of not having to think for a day."
Elsewhere in the clips, Kavana admits that after the end of his solo career he felt like a "complete and utter failure", saying: "That's when I turned to drink, just to cope."
The video also gives a preview of Gareth Gates speaking about his time on Pop Idol, Dane Bowers saying that...

Myleene Klass has responded to claims made in tonight's (February 6) episode of The Big Reunion.
Viewers saw Linzi from Girl Thing explain that her vocals were on the backing track of Hear'Say's 2001 hit 'Pure and Simple'.
The track was originally recorded by Girl Thing, but there is dispute over whether the group helped to write the song.
Linzi insists that she was heavily involved, while the song's credited writers deny that the girls had any input.
After watching the scenes as they aired on ITV this evening, Klass tweeted: "I Knew we never sang the backing vocals! #BigReunion."
Klass was chosen to join Hear'Say alongside Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, Noel Sullivan and Danny Foster when the group was formed on 2001 show Popstars.

Oh, isn't it good to have The Big Reunion back? As the sort of people who grew up pasting Top of the Pops stickers on every available surface, it's pleasing that we can revisit the glory years with the help of an ITV2 show on these cold, wet January nights. And boy, episode one did not disappoint. But as pop devotees, what exactly did we learn? Well, read on for the all-important lessons from tonight's instalment...
1. Andi Peters is still cheeky.
Well. Andi's narration was one of the best things about tonight's show, but we admit to blushing at times. "Simon Cowell splashed his massive wad in the direction of a famous French landmark." Andi, this is a family show! (Praise, though, for dubbing 'Freak Me' a "bonking anthem".)
2. Girl Thing's Nikki is voice twins with Philomena Cunk from Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe.
Seriously. It's creepy.
3. Victoria Beckham is loads of fun.

Adam Rickitt, Kenzie, Kavana, Gareth Gates and Dane Bowers have teamed up for the ITV2 series and will perform each other's tracks during the programme.

Eternal, A1 and Damage will appear in the new series of 'The Big Reunion'. The ITV2 reality show has already helped to relaunch the careers of Blue, Atomic Kitten and Liberty X, and after the programme became a huge success, the acts headed out on tour. Eternal, A1 and Damage are among the acts taking part in the second series of The Big Reunion.
ITV2 tonight confirmed the names of the six groups who have signed up to get back together for the upcoming second series of the television show.
One of the bands is brand new supergroup 5th Story, combining Gareth Gates, Another Level's Dane Bowers, Adam Rickitt, Kavana and Blazing Squad's Kenzie.
Eternal will raise eyebrows as Louise Redknapp has not agreed to return, with band member Vernette Bennett saying: "We have a band member who doesn't want to be there. What do you do with that?"
Kelle Bryan added: "We never communicated. It festered into something very ugly."
Rounding out the cast are 3T - who discuss how coming from the Jackson dynasty could be a curse - and Girl Thing - whose single 'Pure and Simple' was taken from them to give to Hear'Say.

Not since the days of Jedward, Olly Murs and Rikki Loney (?!) has X Factor treated us to a Big Band Week. It's a chance for the acts to show off their most powerful vocal performances and knock out some good old fashioned Rat Pack classics. Or at least that's the plan anyway.
Can Sam Callahan finally win over Gary Barlow? How old is Nicholas McDonald? (16!!) And will Nicole Scherzinger be as 'excited' as she was on last week's Live Show? These are all questions we hope will be answered this evening.
Join us from 8pm when it all kicks off again on ITV.
21:32See you tomorrow at 8pm. Celine Dion and Robbie Williams are the special guests. Thanks for all the comments, as always. We love them all. Good and bad.
21:30That's all for tonight folks. There's no Flash Vote tonight. You'll have to wait 24 hours to find...

The cast of ITV2's The Big Reunion have announced details of their Christmas single.
Atomic Kitten, Blue, Five, Liberty X, 911, Honeyz and B*Witched will release a cover Wizzard's 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' on December 15 via Universal Music.
All profits from the song will go to ITV's Text Santa charity appeal, which raises money and awareness for six UK based charities in the run-up to a televised event on Friday, December 20.
Liz McClarnon from Atomic Kitten said: "When we started the talks for The Big Reunion this time last year, we couldn't have imagined we'd end up recording a Text Santa Christmas single! It's all for charity and we are so humbled to be a part of it!"
Keavy from B*Witched added: "Back in the day we were in competition with each other; this time round we get to do one big fantastic single together.
