Where Is Wendy Williams? executive producers Mark Ford and Erica Hanson opened up about their concerns for Wendy Williams’ health while they were filming the Lifetime documentary.
During an awards consideration panel in Los Angeles, Ford and Hanson said they were “worried” about Williams’ circumstances during production, via People. They noticed that she had been living alone, without food in her refrigerator, and tried to get in touch with her family.
“The deeper we got into it, we didn’t want to let go of Wendy until we got her back in touch with her family,” Ford said. “Because we felt that at a certain point that’s who’s going to be there for her to care for her.”

The last couple Reznor-Ross soundtracks weren’t hitting as hard: on The Killer they ceded ground to Morrissey, replacing their multi-tone soundscapes for atmospherics; Bones and All found them exploring some more pastoral tones to admirable, if limited ends; Empire of Light, what can you say. There’s a special joy, then, listening to their work for Challengers, which our review was indeed correct in calling “their most inspired work in some time”––it suggests those bouncier, more aggressive bits from The Social Network becoming an entire album unto themselves.
There’s also “Compress / Repress,” a track the duo wrote with Luca Guadagnino and which finds Reznor making a rare vocal appearance. It’s been, somehow, six years since a non-instrumental Nine Inch Nails album; this writer hopes it sparks something of the frontman’s old habits.

Wendy Williams was once the host of The Wendy Williams Show, a daytime talk show that gave Williams a platform to share her unfiltered opinions regarding Hollywood stars and gossip. The show ended in 2022, and Williams came under financial guardianship that same year. Her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, recently claimed that Williams’ guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, “depleted” his ex-wife’s finances.
Wendy Williams’ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, says Williams’ guardian ‘depleted’ Williams’ money
Wendy Williams is under financial conservatorship after Wells Fargo claimed the host was of “unsound mind” in 2022. Today, her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, oversees Williams’ finances. According to Williams’ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, Morrissey is depleting Williams of her money.
Hunter and Morrissey discussed the matter in divorce court on Friday, April 19, 2024. Hunter’s divorce payments that he received from Williams stopped in 2022 after the courts placed her under a financial conservatorship. Hunter wants Williams’ payments to continue, and he also wants to see Williams’ financial records.

A divorce judge is slamming Wendy Williams’ financial guardian for not forking over her financial records to her ex-husband Kevin Hunter. Although Hunter has made multiple requests for bank documents, Williams’ guardian Sabrina Morrissey has continuously failed to materialize any records. The judge clarified that there would be no resolution in the couple’s divorce settlement unless Morrissey coughed up the bank statements. Continue reading to see what unfolded in court last week.
Kevin Hunter: ‘This Has Become A Real Travesty’
Kevin Hunter has suggested that Sabrina Morrissey is purposefully withholding the financial records from him. He claims that she’s doing this because she is secretly pocketing Wendy Williams’ money for herself.
He stated that Morrissey has not provided him a reason for stopping his severance payments, which were made to him from Wendy Williams at the time of their divorce through January 2022.

Alec Baldwin’s lawyers alleged a “stunning abuse of prosecutorial power” in the “Rust” case on Tuesday, arguing that a favorable plea offer was withdrawn last fall due to a misunderstanding about Baldwin’s role in a documentary about the case.
Baldwin is facing a trial in July in Santa Fe, N.M., on a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. If convicted, he faces up to 18 months in prison.
Last October, prosecutors offered him a misdemeanor plea that would carry no jail time. But prosecutor Kari Morrissey said in a recent filing that she rescinded that offer after learning that Baldwin had “commissioned his own documentary” about Hutchins’ death, and was pressuring witnesses in the case to participate.
Concerned that Baldwin’s conduct would cause ongoing harm the victims and their families, she withdraw the offer and decided to seek a felony indictment.

Previously, Kevin Hunter has come forward and said that his “severance” payments from Wendy Williams stopped in 2022 shortly before she was put under the care of a financial guardian. He brought the case up again because he said that their out-of-court mediation was not working.
According to Hunter, he made a request for financial documents to prove that Williams was actually broke. He said that without the $37,500 monthly payments, he was suffering financially.

Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is heading to prison after getting sentenced to 18 months behind bars for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
“You alone turned a safe weapon into a lethal weapon,” Judge Mary Marlow Sommer said to Gutierrez-Reed in her sentencing Monday after shutting down defense pleas for probation and counseling. “But for you, Ms. Hutchins would be alive, a husband would have his partner and a little boy would have his mother.” The 18-month sentence is the maximum penalty a criminal can receive under New Mexico law.
Gutierrez-Reed has expressed deep remorse for the tragic event, saying her “heart aches” for everyone affected by her negligence. Chalking her actions up to being “young and naive,” she disapproves of the media painting her as a monster in this scenario. “I beg you please don’t give me more time,” Gutierrez-Reed pleaded to the court before sentencing. “The jury...

As Alec Baldwin awaits his July trial date for involuntary manslaughter charges on the rest of Rust, the case against him continues to build. The case stems from the tragedy of the 2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was killed by a prop gun fired by Baldwin.
While Alec Baldwin has pleaded not guilty in the Rust case, the prosecution is pressing forward that there was more involved than just gunfire that should contribute to a guilty verdict. According to prosecutor Kari Morrissey, reckless behavior and disregard ultimately led to that moment in which the 42-year-old Hutchins died. “To watch Mr. Baldwin’s conduct on the set of Rust is to witness a man who has absolutely no control of his own emotions and absolutely no concern for how his conduct affects those around him. Witnesses have testified that it was this exact conduct that contributed to safety compromises on set.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the Rust armorer who loaded the live round into the gun Alec Baldwin was holding when it discharged and killed the film’s cinematographer, will serve 18 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter.
The decision from Santa Fe judge Mary Sommer, delivered on Monday, comes after a jury found Gutierrez-Reed guilty, making her the first crewmember to be convicted for her role in the accidental shooting death of Halyna Hutchins.
Involuntary manslaughter charges in New Mexico carry a maximum sentence of 18 months and a fine of up to $5,000. Prosecutors sought the upper limit of the term. Gutierrez-Reed has been at the Santa Fe Adult Detention Facility since March, when she was determined to be liable of involuntary manslaughter but not evidence tampering charges. Last month, Sommer declined to allow a new trial and denied a motion for the armorer to be released while she appeals her conviction.

Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was sentenced just now to 18 months behind bars over the October 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Santa Fe set of the indie Western starring Alec Baldwin.
“You alone turned a safe weapon into a lethal weapon,” said Judge Mary Marlow Sommer in her sentencing Monday after rejecting defense pleas for probation and counseling. “But for you, Ms. Hutchins would be alive, a husband would have his partner and a little boy would have his mother.”

Exclaiming that her “heart aches” for what happened on Rust and the death of Hutchins, Gutierrez-Reed earlier called herself “young and naive,” chastised the media for portraying her as a “complete monster” and told the court how she had been overworked and under-resourced on the film.

In recorded jail calls, “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed complained about the judge, prosecutor and jurors who served on her case and said she was “railroaded,” according to a court filing on Friday.
Gutierrez Reed was convicted last month of involuntary manslaughter for loading a live bullet into Alec Baldwin’s gun, leading to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. She is due to be sentenced on Monday in a Santa Fe, N.M. courtroom.
In the filing, prosecutor Kari Morrissey asked that she be sentenced to the maximum — 18 months — and said that the recorded calls show her lack of contrition.
“Ms. Gutierrez continues to deny responsibility and blame others,” Morrissey wrote.
The prosecutor provided a summary of the calls, in which Gutierrez Reed spoke with her mother, her boyfriend and a defense paralegal.

Zack Snyder loves a director’s cut. Most of his movies have received some manner of alternate cut over the years, but there’s still one project he’d like to make a proper director’s cut of — Sucker Punch.
Sucker Punch didn’t receive the best reviews upon release in 2011, but Snyder told Empire that he’d love to “fix” the movie if given the chance. “The only movie I would change is Sucker Punch, because it never really got finished correctly,” Snyder said. “Even the director’s cut is not really the correct cut. It’s really just an extended version. If I had the chance, I would fix that movie.”

Snyder added that he already has everything he requires to assemble a director’s cut of Sucker Punch; all he needs is permission.

Prosecutors intend to argue that Alec Baldwin could not control his emotions on the set of “Rust,” and that he “shamelessly lied” and repeatedly changed his story after accidentally shooting the film’s cinematographer.
The actor is due to go on trial in July in Santa Fe, N.M., on a charge of involuntary manslaughter for firing a prop gun and killing Halyna Hutchins. In a 32-page filing made public on Monday, prosecutor Kari Morrissey laid out the allegations against Baldwin in unprecedented detail.
She argued that Baldwin would scream and curse at himself and others on set, sometimes for no particular reason, and that his behavior contributed to safety failures.
“To watch Mr. Baldwin’s conduct on the set of ‘Rust’ is to witness a man who has absolutely no control of his own emotions and absolutely no concern for how his conduct affects those around him,” Morrissey wrote.

In the days before Lifetime’s controversial documentary looking at Wendy Williams’ struggles with health and addiction aired in late February, A+E Networks engaged in a last-minute legal battle with the former daytime TV personality’s court-appointed guardian, who it alleges in legal documents unsealed this week had used the courts to prevent the film’s release as it portrayed her in a negative light.
On Friday, the New York County Supreme Court unsealed the motion to reverse the restraining order that Sabrina Morrissey, Williams’ court-appointed guardian since 2022, had successfully petitioned for as she filed a lawsuit Feb. 22 against A+E Networks to block the release of Where Is Wendy Williams? The freshly unsealed court records paint a different story that indicates Morrissey allegedly only sought to keep the documentary from public view when it became clear that she and her guardianship of Williams would not be portrayed positively in the film.

Newly unsealed documents shed light on A+E Networks’ successful appeal of a last-minute effort to halt the airing of the Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? last month.
A temporary guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, had sought a court order to stop the project, arguing in a lawsuit filed last month that the documentary was a “blatant exploitation of a vulnerable woman with a serious medical condition,” and that the talk host had lacked mental capacity to enter a contract to do the show.
A New York judge initially granted the order to prevent the airing of Where Is Wendy Williams?, but that was quickly reversed on appeal.
In arguing against a temporary restraining order to stop the project, A+E Networks’ attorney Rachel Strom wrote that Morrissey’s effort was an unconstitutional prior restraint, and on a topic that was in the public interest.

Alec Baldwin was offered a deal last October to plead to a misdemeanor — and apparently serve no jail time — in the accidental shooting on the set of “Rust,” according to a filing made public on Friday.
But before he could decide whether to accept the terms, prosecutors withdrew the offer and told his lawyers they would seek to indict him, the filing states.
Baldwin was indicted in January on a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, and now faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted at trial in July.
The latest revelation about the retracted plea offer was included among hundreds of pages of material made public Friday as part of Baldwin’s effort to throw out the case.

What was Wendy Williams’ large payday for her tainted Lifetime docuseries? It has shown a very sad side to the former talk show host. Some felt that it was exploitative but what was she paid to share this part of her life? Read on for more details.
Wendy Williams’ Large Payday For Tainted Docuseries
The docuseries, Where Is Wendy Williams? was hard for fans of Wendy’s to watch. It showed a very sad side of a once sassy and full-of-life woman. Now, she can barely recognize familiar faces and is dragged along to events that she has no comprehension of. More so, viewers were able to see a different side of Blac Chyna who had long been friends with Wendy. She came by to see her friend and show her love. It was a sweet but very vulnerable moment that broke the hearts of viewers. So, how much was...

Wendy Williams’ guardian Sabrina Morrissey has filed a lawsuit against A+E Networks for exploiting the former daytime talk show host when creating the Where Is Wendy Williams? docuseries. New unsealed court documents show that Morrissey is accusing the network of humiliating Wendy and filming her in an obviously poor state. She also says producers lied to Wendy about what the documentary would be about. Continue reading for details on the lawsuit and what’s next for Wendy Williams.
Court-Appointed Guardian Calls Out A+E Networks For Exploitation
Sabrina Morrissey, Wendy Williams’ court-appointed guardian, is accusing A+E Networks of “humiliating” the daytime TV icon. She alleges that producers filmed her in an “obviously disabled state.” Furthermore, the docuseries “cruelly implies” that the way she is acting is due to substance and alcohol abuse. Wendy was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and progressive aphasia in May of 2023.

Wendy Williams’ court-appointed guardian tried to block the release of a Lifetime docuseries about the talk show host, telling a court last month that she was “horrified” by the depiction of Williams as a “drunkard” and a “laughingstock.”
The guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, obtained a temporary restraining order to keep the two-part series, entitled “Where is Wendy Williams?”, under wraps.
But A+E Networks, the parent company of Lifetime, and Entertainment One were quickly able to get that order overturned on Feb. 23, with an appellate judge ruling it an “impermissible prior restraint on speech” under the First Amendment. The show aired over the following weekend.
The battle between the guardian and the network has been reported previously. But more details became available Thursday, when a New York judge ordered most of the court record in the case unsealed.

Attorneys for Alec Baldwin have filed a motion to dismiss the manslaughter charge made against him in connection to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of “Rust,” accusing special prosecutors for the New Mexico District Attorney of “abuse of the system.”
Baldwin was charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter for allegedly pointing a gun at Hutchins during rehearsal of a scene. The gun, which contained live ammunition unbeknownst to Baldwin, fired and fatally struck Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza. Baldwin has been accused of pulling the trigger on the gun, which the actor denies.
In the motion filed on Thursday, Baldwin’s attorneys accused special prosecutor Kari Morrissey of failing to inform the grand jury that indicted the actor and producer of the availability of witnesses who would have testified that it was not the actor’s duty to inspect the gun he was holding.

A temporary guardian argued in a lawsuit filed last month that Lifetime’s documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? was a “blatant exploitation of a vulnerable woman with a serious medical condition,” and that the talk host had lacked mental capacity to enter a contract to do the show, according to newly unsealed documents.
The guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, filed suit last month in New York Supreme Court seeking to stop the show before its debut on February 24-25. But an appellate judge vacated a lower court order, clearing the way for the the project to air. But is was only this week that Morrissey’s complaint and other court documents were unsealed.

Less than six months before Alec Baldwin is set to go on trial for involuntary manslaughter over the on-set 2021 shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, the actor who steadfastly claims he never pulled the trigger says prosecutors “have stacked the deck” against him.
“The State prosecutors have engaged in this misconduct—and publicly dragged Baldwin through the cesspool created by their improprieties—without any regard for the fact that serious criminal charges have been hanging over his head for two and a half years,” proclaims a motion to dismiss filed Thursday in New Mexico court.
“Enough is enough.”

Alec Baldwin’s lawyers asked a judge on Thursday to throw out his manslaughter case, accusing prosecutors of “violating nearly every rule in the book” in the course of obtaining an indictment.
The attorneys argued that prosecutors leaked information to the press, failed to present exculpatory evidence to the grand jury, and gave a faulty jury instruction on involuntary manslaughter that “stacked the deck” against Baldwin.
“Enough is enough,” the lawyers wrote. “This is an abuse of the system, and an abuse of an innocent person whose rights have been trampled to the extreme.”
Baldwin was indicted in January and is scheduled to face a trial on July 9 in Santa Fe, N.M.

Newly unsealed court filings in Wendy Williams’ lawsuit against Lifetime parent company A+E Networks over the release of the Where Is Wendy Williams? documentary chronicling her deteriorating mental and physical state appear to show that the company allegedly shot the film without obtaining consent from the former talk show host’s court-appointed guardian. The project documented Williams’ life for the better part of a year showing her downward spiral as she struggled with family, fame and excessive alcohol consumption.
The complaint, which was unsealed on Thursday, claims that the contract A+E Networks brokered to shoot the documentary was not valid since Williams did not have the legal or mental capacity to authorize her participation in the title at the time. She was allegedly told that the film would be “positive and beneficial” to her image. It remains unknown who created the company that entered into a contract with the...

The federal government has issued a lien on Wendy Williams’ home due to unpaid taxes. According to the IRS, she owes hundreds of thousands of dollars from 2019 and 2021. The tax lien was generated in January of this year and the New York City Department of Finance made a record of it in February. Continue reading to see what Wendy Williams’ financial guardian plans to do about this predicament.
Wendy Williams Is Facing A Huge Federal Tax Lien
Legal documents show that the federal government has placed a lien on Wendy’s New York City condo. Records show she owes $568,451.57. She purchased the luxurious condo in 2021 for $4.5 million.
Although the lien was initially generated in January and recorded by the state of New York in February, there is no indication anyone has dealt with the matter. It is assumed that the responsibility would fall on Wendy Williams’ financial guardian, Sabrina Morrissey.

Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the “Rust” armorer convicted last week in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, will be sentenced on April 15, a judge ruled Wednesday.
Gutierrez Reed faces a maximum of 18 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter. A jury in Santa Fe, N.M., found her guilty after a two-week trial, in which prosecutors argued that her negligence led to “astonishing” failures of safety.
Gutierrez Reed was responsible for the firearms on set. She accidentally loaded a live bullet into Alec Baldwin’s vintage Colt revolver, which went off, killing Hutchins and wounding the film’s director, Joel Souza. Baldwin, who has denied pulling the trigger, faces his own criminal trial for involuntary manslaughter in July.
Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer ordered Gutierrez Reed taken into custody following the verdict last week, noting the seriousness of the case.

When the “Rust” trial began two weeks ago, Mary Carmack-Altwies, the district attorney in Santa Fe, N.M., sent a campaign message to supporters.
In it, she made it clear that the case is not just about Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the young armorer who was convicted Wednesday in the 2021 gun accident that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Without naming him, the D.A. conveyed that her office is really focused on a bigger fish: Alec Baldwin, the producer and actor who pulled the trigger.
“Here’s what is critical to me: in the First Judicial District, no one is above the law. No one,” she wrote. “No one avoids culpability due to fame, wealth, or connections in my jurisdiction.”
After a series of stumbles in the case, Carmack-Altwies got a much-needed win when the jury returned a guilty verdict on involuntary manslaughter. (The jurors acquitted Gutierrez Reed of a charge of tampering with evidence.

Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the armorer on the ill-fated Western film “Rust,” was convicted on Wednesday of involuntary manslaughter in the death of the film’s cinematographer.
Jurors returned a verdict after less than three hours of deliberations on Wednesday afternoon, following two weeks of testimony about safety lapses on set.
Gutierrez Reed was acquitted of a separate charge of tampering with evidence. She faces up to 18 months in prison at sentencing, which is expected sometime in April.
Following the verdict, Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer ordered Gutierrez Reed remanded into custody. As her attorney, Monnica Barreras, rubbed her back to comfort her, bailiffs led her away.
Outside the First Judicial District courthouse in Santa Fe, N.M., juror Alberto Sanchez told reporters that the jury reached a “fair” verdict.
“Someone died,” Sanchez said. “You gotta take responsibility. Especially when you’re handling weapons and you’re in charge of those. That’s your job.

Attorneys gave their closing arguments in the “Rust” trial in Santa Fe, N.M., on Wednesday, with the prosecution urging jurors to find Hannah Gutierrez Reed guilty of involuntary manslaughter and to hold her accountable for an “astonishing” lack of gun safety on the film set.
Special prosecutor Kari Morrissey argued that as the film’s armorer, Gutierrez Reed, was in charge of guns on set, and that it was her failure to tell the difference between dummies and live rounds that led to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
“This was a game of Russian roulette every time an actor had a gun with dummies,” Morrissey said.

Come, sit, and hear sad stories of what it was like to be a young British millennial nerd. The nineties were, in many ways, a dark age for British science fiction. Doctor Who was gone, apart from one Children in Need crossover with EastEnders – Dimensions in Time in 1993 – and an American co-produced movie simply called “Doctor Who” (which we would all pretend to hate while treasuring our VHS recording and commemorative Radio Times issue).
Over the pond, TV sci-fi was in the middle of a golden age, with three Star Trek series, Babylon 5, Farscape, The X-Files and Stargate Sg-1 only marking the tip of a science fictional iceberg. But British fans could only watch these episodes months or even years after the fact, particularly if they had only access to terrestrial television, and were forced to paw through magazines and websites for reviews and plot summaries to sate their hunger.

Santa Fe, N.M. — The “Rust” trial boiled over in hostile bickering between the prosecution and the defense on Wednesday, after the defense poked several holes in the Sheriff’s investigation.
Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the film’s armorer, is on trial for involuntary manslaughter in the October 2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The prosecution has argued that Gutierrez Reed unwittingly brought live ammunition on set.
Cpl. Alexandra Hancock, the lead investigator on the case for the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, testified Wednesday that there is no “direct” evidence of that theory — only circumstantial evidence.
In his opening statement, prosecutor Jason Lewis argued that photos show that Gutierrez Reed had the live rounds on set as early as Oct. 10 — 11 days before the shooting — and failed to notice them.
But on cross-examination, Hancock agreed that she had “no idea” when the live rounds came on set.

Santa Fe, N.M. — A crew member on “Rust” gave jurors a tearful account Monday of the fatal shooting on set, and laid much of the blame on Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the film’s armorer.
Ross Addiego, the dolly grip, became choked up and cried at several points as he recalled the events surrounding the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
He also faulted Gutierrez Reed for leaving guns and ammunition unsecured, saying she was nothing like the “uptight,” “anal retentive” armorers he had encountered over his 30-year career.
“She wasn’t necessarily as serious or professional as I am accustomed to with the other armorers that I’m familiar with,” Addiego testified. “I don’t know that I’ve ever seen an armorer pull loose ammo out of a fanny pack.”

“We seemed to always be rushed and under the gun,” a key crew member on the troubled Rust film told a New Mexico jury today in the involuntary manslaughter trial of armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed.
