Loki's sacrifice was a result of his journey to heroism, mirroring his mother Frigga's selfless act of protection. Loki season 2 and Loki's sacrifice reflecting Frigga's showcases the bond between them and his redemption arc. Loki's sacrifice solidified his status as a hero and protector of the multiverse in the MCU.
One of the most tragic MCU deaths from 2013 may have been responsible for Loki's sacrifice, and therefore saving the multiverse. Loki’s MCU journey is one of the most complex in the franchise, with his time on the Sacred Timeline culminating in his gruesome death at the hands of Thanos at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War. Avengers: Endgame then saw his MCU tenure resume as he became a variant via the use of the Tesseract, thus commencing his character-defining adventures with the Tva.

Recent Marvel updates suggest other MCU TV shows are likely to continue, but WandaVision season 2 is improbable. WandaVision season 2 is unlikely due to recent plot developments in the MCU and home release titles implying future seasons for other shows, but not WandaVision. While WandaVision season 2 may not happen, the show's legacy will be carried on through other MCU stories like Vision Quest, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, and potentially even Young Avengers.
The latest update regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe's TV releases may have confirmed a disappointing reality for WandaVision season 2. Since the ending of WandaVision's story in 2021, a prevalent piece of discourse surrounding the MCU has been whether a second season would ever be greenlit. Despite Marvel's upcoming TV shows seemingly committing to longer, more frequent seasons in an attempt to overhaul the studio's small-screen productions, WandaVision was constructed when limited series' were commonplace for the MCU.

Joining the MCU in 2011 was a surprise for Skarsgård, who wasn't a comic book fan, but had fun filming Thor with director Kenneth Branagh. Many side MCU characters could rival the Avengers. Some lesser-known characters like Kurse and Laufey could overpower Thor himself, which is notable as he's arguably the strongest Avenger. Wong's Sorcerer Supreme status showcases power akin to Doctor Strange, impressively holding his own.
The MCU is not short of powerful characters, especially the Avengers, but that doesn't mean they are the most powerful characters in the MCU, with even some side characters exceeding their power levels. One thing that makes the Avengers so compelling is that they are neither infallible nor impervious. In fact, one of the best MCU stories - Avengers: Infinity War - shows just how badly they can lose, and their battles with even minor villains rarely look like a certain victory.
With the MCU timeline being so awash with godlike beings, it stands to reason that some of its most powerful characters aren't conveniently part of...

This post contains spoilers for Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver #1.
Who are Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch? Most would say that they are Marvel superheroes, twin members of the Avengers and, sometimes, the X-Men. And while those answers aren’t wrong, the truth has always been a bit more complicated when it comes to these two. And the new series Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver #1 — by writer Steve Orlando, artist Lorenzo Tammetta, colorist Frank William, and letterer Ariana Maher — only makes it more complicated.
Since their first appearance in 1964’s X-Men #4, the twins have gone from heroes to villains and back again. Moreover, their parentage has changed time and again, going from the kids of Romani villagers Django and Marya Maximoff to the children of Golden Age heroes Miss America and the Whizzer. In the most popular and most long-running explanation, Magneto has been presented as the true father of Pietro and Wanda.

Malekith and his Dark Elves' masks in Thor: The Dark World create a haunting and eerie visage, making them exceptionally memorable villains. Dormammu's psychedelic design, combined with his dimension-swallowing powers, makes him one of the most intimidating villains in Doctor Strange. Christian Bale's portrayal of Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder turns him into a terrifying presence, with his haunting depiction and the use of the Necrosword.

Bradley Cooper had an often-forgotten role in Sex and the City. While Cooper is known as a movie star now, when he was cast in the iconic HBO series, he was an unknown. The Maestro star has spoken about his time on the set multiple times over the years. For example, Cooper revealed he was terrified on set because he lied about his ability to drive a manual car.
In a recent appearance, Cooper explained that he had a good reason for lying. He once quipped that he assumed he would never land a role opposite Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw.

Bradley Cooper appeared in a single episode of Sex and the City‘s second season. In the episode “They Shoot Single People, Don’t They?” Carrie Bradshaw is despondent after she appears on a magazine cover looking downtrodden and haggard.

Avengers: Age of Ultron, despite its flaws, introduced characters like Wanda Maximoff and Vision, whose story became the basis for WandaVision. The introduction of America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be important for future multiverse stories in the MCU.

Echo is the latest TV entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series focuses on Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) when she returns to her home in Oklahoma following the events of Hawkeye. Do you remember the show "Raising Dad"? The 2001-2002 single-season series from The WB grabbed my attention because it was another show starring "Full House" star Bob Saget, but would also serve as the gateway to two actors who would become all-time favorites of mine: Kat Dennings and Brie Larson. When it was announced that the latter was going to appear in "Fast X," I couldn't resist bringing up her history of playing a hot rodder in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Right on Track," and I'm always elated when people realize that Larson is one of the members of the Six Chicks clique in "13 Going on 30" and one of the popular girls in "Sleepover."

Marvel has thrived on the multiverse for some time, with comic book runs and films set across different timelines. Since its debut in 2021, Marvel's animated series What If...? created a format where Marvel's greatest heroes and villains are free to explore realms and universes unbound by the conventions of the MCU canon. This year, just in time for the holidays, Marvel's What If...? is back for its second season, ringing in the season of hope and good wishes with two action-packed tales of goodwill. Premiering on Disney+ starting December 22nd and airing a new episode every night over nine nights, What If...? Season Two is a great holiday treat for Marvel fans.

Even with its shortcomings, Marvel's "What If...?" season 1 is the closest the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come to realizing the true potential of the multiverse in terms of storytelling. The hope, then, is that the animated series will dispense with the training wheels entirely with its next batch of episodes and really have fun with the concept, rather than restricting itself to re-imagining events from MCU movies and TV shows past. And so far, it appears season 2 will do just that, with an episode inspired by the Neil Gaiman-penned Elizabethan era comic arc "1602" and another one centered on a brand-new character in the form of the Mohawk hero Kahhori.
Of course, there's still plenty of room for new stories featuring old favorites, including treasured supporting players and frequent comic relief sidekicks Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) and Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau). Those two specifically will team up in "What If.

Nebula and Happy Hogan take center stage in a closed door sneak preview of What If...? season 2.
Following an early press screening, Marvel's website officially dropped the synopses for What If...?'s upcoming season premiere and third episode, respectively. “Party Hard” rocker Andrew W.K. and Two Broke Girls star Kat Dennings tied the knot on November 27th in an intimate ceremony. The pair just revealed details of their wedding, along with photos, in an exclusive spread with Vogue.
Apparently, it was love at first site for the musician and the actress, with Dennings telling Vogue, “About three years ago, Andrew had come to visit me for the first time. At the end of his trip, we couldn’t imagine ever separating. We actually proposed to each other in the kitchen at the exact same moment.” They ended up getting engaged in the spring of 2021.
The wedding itself took place in the garden of the couple’s Los Angeles home, with roughly 15 people in attendance, including Macaulay Culkin and wife Brenda Song. “Everyone was happy and enjoying [themselves] and there wasn’t a dull moment,” said Dennings of the nuptials.

The initial three phases of the MCU were all about setting up and maintaining continuity in the franchise's many interconnected stories, leading to the iconic showdown in 2019's Avengers: Endgame. As such, when Phase Four started, the focus became more on exploring new concepts and formats and introducing new heroes. With the launch of Disney+, the MCU brought in new characters in TV shows to replace those lost in Endgame and maintain audience interest. Now that the Multiverse Saga is in full swing, even these shows will seamlessly connect to these vast MCU projects in some way or another.
The third movie in Phase 5, The Marvels marks the epic return of Brie Larson's Captain Marvel, who was last seen playing a significant role in the Infinity Saga and has consistently made brief appearances in several MCU projects since Endgame, specifically in post-credit scenes. Contrary to popular belief, Drake hasn't been in many relationships. While the artist loves love (and rapping about his past situationships), he's pretty content with his dating life - which, according to him, consists of "dating four or five women" at a time to truly find his perfect partner.
Though the rapper usually reserves his songs to reveal details about his love life, he occasionally opens up about it, and he did just that in a July interview with Bobbi Althoff. During the interview, Drake told Althoff he sees himself marrying a non-famous person because celebrities are "not that intriguing." He also shared some thoughts about why he hasn't settled down yet. "The truth? I don't know, I don't think I can offer somebody what they'd be looking for right now," he said. "Just consistency, I think my life . . . my work is my priority. The character of Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) delighted MCU fans when he appeared in Phase 4's WandaVision, becoming part of a supporting character super-group with Thor's Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) and Captain Marvel's Monica Rambeau (now grown-up in WandaVision and played by Teyonah Parris). This was in no small part due to the lasting impression he left on audiences when he embodied the presence of law enforcement in Scott Lang's life during Ant-Man and the Wasp three years earlier (five years in-story). But did you know that the Ant-Man sequel was not Jimmy's first inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?...

Lady Sif, a powerful Asgardian, deserves more focus in the MCU and should be given a chance to shine in future Thor movies. Erik Selvig, a significant character in the early Thor movies, still has potential for further development and could be a valuable ally for Thor on Earth. Darcy Lewis, portrayed with charm and confidence by Kat Dennings, has become a standout character and could return as an expert in magical phenomena in the MCU.
Despite being around since near the beginning of the MCU, there are still several Thor franchise characters that deserve more time in the Marvel movie spotlight. Despite the popularity of other MCU heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, and Hulk, only Thor has reached the impressive milestone of getting four solo movies. It's often Marvel Studios' supporting characters that steal the scene in Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. Although the primary hero or villain is always the main focus of any MCU installment, the inclusion of a variety of supporting characters helps to cement the lead as a well-rounded and realistic character. These supporting characters also need personalities of their own, however, and these personalities sometimes outshine the performances of the leads. Whether it be delivering hilarious one-liners, displaying a huge amount of charm, or providing some brilliant moments of action, these supporting characters have made themselves more memorable than the main stars.
Some of the McU's best supporting characters have been lucky enough to get promotions to more heavily-featured stars. This has been the case for Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson, a.k.a. Captain America, Letitia Wright's Shuri, a.k.a. Black Panther, and Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, a.

In a scintillating revelation, Netflix's acclaimed series, The Sandman, is purportedly on a casting spree for Norse gods. With whispers in the air, the forthcoming season will likely see an enthralling ensemble of characters including the mighty Thor and the ever-mischievous Loki.
This recent development is a big nod to The Sandman comic series. These characters took center stage in the story arc named Season of Mists. In this tale, the father and sons trio of Odin, Thor, and Loki will venture into the Dreaming World. These Norse gods have the daring mission of getting their hands on the Keys of Hell.

As unique as the storyline of Netflix's Sex Education may seem, it eerily shares many similarities with a forgotten 2007 Robert Downey Jr. movie. Set in a high school called Moordale High, Sex Education follows socially awkward teenager Otis (played by Asa Butterfield), who gains immense insider knowledge on sexual health and wellbeing through his mother's profession as a sex therapist. Leveraging this knowledge in school, Otis joins forces with a street-smart girl named Maeve, and they start a sex clinic in an abandoned washroom of their school. While Otis and Maeve's hustle gains traction and earns dividends, it all gradually spirals into a lot of chaos.
Many aspects of Sex Education may not capture the reality of high schoolers and their day-to-day teenage hi-jinks. However, what makes the show incredibly entertaining is how it uses its comic setting as a narrative device to nail down serious themes surrounding sexual identity,...

Many famous movie stars in Hollywood got their start on TV shows that have long since been forgotten. While television is currently enjoying a critical golden age, the medium has not always been seen as a prestige venue. For decades, television was often viewed as a stepping stone to bigger and better things for emerging actors.
While stars could become A-list household names via a popular TV show, it was broadly accepted that movies were a more glamorous and esteemed path to screen fame. As a result, making the move from TV shows to movies was a big deal for young actors. This is still the case, but critically acclaimed, cinematic television shows like Stranger Things and Game of Thrones mean that many contemporary actors regularly move between television and film. In the 1990s and 2000s, however, moving from television to movie stardom was evidence that an actor’s career was on the rise.

An industry insider clearly explains why Disney+ is removing movies and shows from the streaming service. Joining in on the trend that quickly became controversial when HBO Max began cutting content, leaders at Disney announced that more than 40 series and films, including high-profile projects like Willow, will be removed from the platform on May 26. In general terms, the removal is understood to be Disney's attempt to reduce costs and increase profitability. But there remains confusion about how removing original shows actually accomplishes these goals, and whether the shows could resurface elsewhere.
Writing in the Puck newsletter, veteran entertainment journalist Matthew Belloni clarified why Disney+ is removing a chunk of its content. In the excerpt, included below, Belloni says the chief reasoning behind the removals is not the payment of residuals. While that factor is real, it's a "relatively small part of the cost of putting shows and movies on streamers.

2 Broke Girls entertained viewers with its comedic plot and double entendre for six seasons. The sitcom is about two girls named Maxine George Black and Caroline Channing, played by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, respectively, who work as waitresses at the Brooklyn Diner and, in the process, develop a strong friendship. Their personalities are contrary to one another, and both come from different walks of life. Caroline is a rich girl whose dad went bankrupt in a Ponzi scheme, bringing her family back to the streets. Whereas Max comes from a poor background, whose mother abandoned her and father still remains unknown.

Jane Seymour has opened up about a near-death experience she had in 1988.

Exclusive: Michaela Conlin has been cast as a series regular opposite Ellie Kemper in ABC’s Drop-Off (working title), a comedy pilot based on the British series Motherland, from writer Julieanne Smolinski, Sharon Horgan and Clelia Mountford’s Merman Television, Paul Feig’s Feigco Entertainment, Lionsgate and ABC Signature. Judy Greer and Karan Soni also star.
Written by Smolinski, Drop-Off (wt) centers on Julia (Kemper), a working mom for whom nothing is working so she goes looking for her village. With the help of new friends Calvin (Soni) and Liz (Conlin), Julia discovers she just might succeed at balancing work and parenting from time to time. This is a comedy for anybody who’s dropped their kids at school, breathed a sigh of relief … then realized it’s Sunday.
Conlin’s Liz is another single mom at Julia’s (Kemper) kids’ school. She’s cool, doesn’t care. Unlike Calvin and Julia, Liz doesn’t like the inner circle of moms at their kids’ school and doesn’t want to be part of them. Liz lives a bit of an alternative lifestyle — there’s pretty much nothing in her apartment except a giant mattress on the floor — and her breezy disregard for the status quo is comforting to both Calvin and Julia.
Michael Showalter directs and executive produces alongside Smolinski, Kemper, Horgan, Mountford, Stacy Greenberg and Kira Carstensen for Merman Television, Paul Feig and Dan Magnante for Feigco Entertainment as well as Holly Walsh and Helen Serafinowicz.
Conlin will next be seen in Taylor Jenkins Reid’s adapted feature One True Loves, opposite Simu Liu. She also will be seen in the upcoming feature Junction, opposite Sophia Bush, Jamie Chung and Hill Harper. On television, she most recently appeared in Hulu’s Dollface opposite Kat Dennings, Brenda Song, and Shay Mitchell. Conlin is known for her role as Angela Montenegro in Fox’s Bones and also played a key recurring in Apple’s For All Mankind, among her other credits. Conlin is repped by Mosaic, APA and Joel McKuin.

New series ‘MPower’ on Disney+ Hotstar spotlight several of the MCU’s most inspirational women heroes. “Every hero has an epic origin story and so does this series,” said Executive Producer Justin W. Hochberg. “When I conceived ‘MPower’, I did it out of love for my teen daughter so she would have more icons to look up to, voices to learn from and role models to help her impact the world. Today, that vision is now a reality thanks to Brie Larsen, Elizabeth Olsen, the women of Wakanda and Zoë Saldaña, whose leadership was ‘Mpowering.’”
Saldaña is featured in episode four and serves as an Executive Producer of the series alongside Cisely and Mariel Saldana for Cinestar Pictures. “‘MPower’ is a tribute to women’s representation and empowerment,” she said. “We’re enthused to have the involvement of a diverse group of women whose voices and stories will serve as a source of inspiration.

Get ready to revisit the New York indie music scene circa 2008, because the soundtrack for Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist is receiving its first-ever vinyl reissue. Celebrating the movie’s 15th anniversary, it will be out on April 7th via Real Gone Music.
Pressed on yellow vinyl to match the color of Michael Cera’s Yugo in the film, the 2xLP release will be housed in a “scrapbook” gatefold jacket featuring production stills from Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Pre-orders are ongoing.
In case you forgot, the soundtrack is stacked with songs from indie mainstays like Vampire Weekend, Devendra Banhart, We Are Scientists, Band of Horses, and Richard Hawley, as well as Big Star’s Chris Bell and Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo.
Directed by Peter Sollett from a screenplay by Lorene Scafaria, Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist starred Cera as Nick and Kat Dennings as Norah, who meet at the...

Iron Man, Rocket the Racoon, Yelena Belova, Loki, Okoye: the Marvel Cinematic Universe has always brought its characters to life in spectacular fashion, and one of the most evolved side characters was also one of the first: the honor belongs to none other than Doctor Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings). Marvel's Midas touch is especially impressive considering how these household names were originally B-, C-, or even D-tier superheroes in the comics world.
