Ivan Teixeira was born in Brazil and graduated in Economics. After
working for some time in the financial market, he shifted gears to
pursue a career in the filmmaking industry. To formalize his choice, he
went to school at UCLA, in Los Angeles, to become a Line producer and
Executive Producer of feature films. Ivan produced many highly
acclaimed Brazilian productions such as "Loura Incendiaria" and "Taina
2", both directed by Mauro Lima. He produced "Desmundo",directed by
Alain Fresnot, winning the Grande Premio Cinema Brasil (Brazilian
Cinema's Grand Prize) for "Best Wardrobe","Best Art Direction","Best
Makeup" and was also nominated for"Best Actress""Best Supporting
Actor","Best Supporting Actress"At the Brazilian film festival in
Paris, it won "Best Film".At the ABC prize of cinematography, the film
won "best art direction" and "best photography" for a feature film". He
also produced, "Lisbela e o Prisioneiro"(Lisbela and the Prisoner) ,
directed by Guel Arraes who was also nominated for Premio Grande Cinema
Brasil (Brazilian Cinema's Grand 12 awards including"Best Film" "Best
Director","Best Adapted Screenplay". International productions "Flying
Virus" directed by Jeff Hare (a Brazil/USA co-production)"The Champagne
Club"directed by Joao Machado,starring Brian Donovan, Sara Rinde,
Robert Ripley and Jaqueline Meyer. Along with the above mentioned
features, Ivan also worked as Line producer of many films done at O2
International department, some examples are "Movimento Brasil"(Movement
Brazil), for Brahma Beer USA, "Pure Spirit of Brasil" for
Sagatiba/Saatchi&Saatchi in London and commercials such as"Jump" for
Nike shot in China, directed by Fernando Meirelles, Land Rover,
Coca-cola,etc. Ivan was the Line Producer of Fernando Meirelle's last
Feature film "Blindness"in post-production. Ivan Teixeira is one of the
most prestigious professionals in Brazil, specialized in the production
of feature films, particularly in the international department. He
lives in Sao Paulo, with his English Sheepdog "Pirata".
