Jacob Samuel Snider is a composer, pianist, singer-songwriter, and producer based in Los Angeles. His musical point of view is rooted in attention to detail, from minimalist ensembles to full orchestras. His original music has been featured at South by Southwest and on the BBC, while his scores have premiered in films at Sundance, Austin, and Tribeca.
Recent projects include Common Ground (winner of Tribeca Film Festival 2023 Human/Nature Award), and Training Wheels (Sundance Film Festival 2022). Other credits include Rough Draft With Reza Aslan (Topic), Starch (dir. Ajai Vishwanath), JAZ (dir. Ajai Vishwanath), and Family Heirloom (dir. Will Pinke).
Named Best New Artist by NPR-affiliate WXPN, his debut album, Carrier (featuring Armand Hirsch and produced by Tony Berg) was released in 2015. One Cricket Song, for mixed ensemble, received its world premiere at the Mostly Modern Festival in 2019, while Seven Inventions, a collection of improvisation-based piano works, was released in 2020. As of 2023, he is developing a solo record of chamber and improvised music for piano, viola, and cello.

Snider holds a BA in Music from Columbia University, and an MM in Screen Scoring from New York University.
