Olivia Rodrigo has manifested her dream collaboration.
Back in January, when speaking to Variety at the Governors Awards in Hollywood, the singer was asked who she would love to duet with. Putting it “out there in the universe,” Rodrigo replied, “I love Noah Kahan.” She added, “I think he’s so great and he’s very inspiring,” she said, crossing her fingers to the camera. “One of these days.”

With Halloween now just days away, America’s thoughts turn increasingly to witches, demons, the paranormal and scaring the heck out of ourselves. And of course, few things accomplish this goal better than horror movies, a genre the United States has largely claimed as its own. To get everyone in the spirit, the website bank-locations.net launched a state-by-state study of Google to discern (based on searches) which Halloween-themed flicks were most popular in each state of the union.
To generate its conclusions, the research team analyzed 200+ top-rated horror films from IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, then studied specific searches for each movie. For example, for “The Shining,” they gathered keywords like “watch the shining,” “the shining full movie,” “”the shining streaming, “The shining netflix” and “where to watch the shining.”
Horror movies were split into two groups: those before 2000 and those after. More than half of the states (27) preferred Googling...

Channel-surfing may be a nostalgic pastime these days, but those who experienced the mindless boredom of finding “nothing on TV” will probably recall the most compellingly boring show ever: “The Joy of Painting” with Bob Ross. With his signature curly brown afro and soothing voice, Ross was a fixture on PBS and of many a rainy afternoon. Though new episodes stopped airing in 1994, the late painter reached sustained notoriety through international reruns, Twitch streams, a Netflix deal, and a YouTube channel. In 2021, Netflix released a documentary about his life, “Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed.”
A new fictional film plays on Ross’ pop culture icon status without using his name or any particular details of his life, instead trading on his distinctive look and the public television painting show setting. Written and directed by Brit McAdams (“Tosh.0”), “Paint” stars Owen Wilson as Carl Nargle, a revered painter with a...

Plot: Carl Nargle, Vermont’s #1 public television painter is convinced he has it all: a signature perm, custom van, and fans hanging on his every stroke… until a younger, better artist steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves.
Review: When the first photos of Owen Wilson as Carl Nargle hit the internet, I knew that Paint was a movie I needed to see. The trailer made the movie out to be a quirky comedy in the vein of Wes Anderson’s films, and the finished product is not far off of that mark. With a sweet demeanor and a solid cast of comedic actors, Paint is very much like the art the main characters create in the film: nice but also very generic. There is nothing inherently wrong with Britt McAdams’s film. Still, it never embraces the oddity of the subject matter enough to make it stand out from the...

Everybody loves Bob Ross. For more than 10 years, the soft-spoken, big-haired artists came into people's homes via PBS and taught "The Joy of Painting." The paintings Ross created were not exactly awe-inspiring, but they were pretty enough. However, it was Ross' built-in Asmr skills that truly entranced viewers — we couldn't get enough of his whispery voice talking about "happy little trees." So great was Ross' power that his legend lives on long after his death — people still flock to YouTube to watch low-def videos of his old shows.
But what if Bob Ross was a cynical, washed-up womanizer? Would you like to see a movie about that? The makers of "Paint" sure hope so! Written and directed by Brit McAdams, "Paint" provides us with a portrait of Carl Nargle (Owen Wilson), a Bob Ross clone who is much loved as the host of Vermont's number-one painting show. Owen Wilson did not set out to emulate Bob Ross in 'Paint'.The 54-year-old actor stars in the comedy film as an artist called Carl Nargle but did not plan to match the late painter's serene style, even though he does sport 'The Joy of Painting' host's afro hairstyle in the movie.Owen told Variety: "I'm not good at doing imitations, and so that was never really a possibility. But certainly that quality that he had when you watched the show – and why people still do – is like a little spa treatment or something. You come out like, 'Oh, I feel relaxed and I feel better.'"Wilson's character is the presenter of Vermont's most popular painting show until he is usurped by a younger, better artist and the star got to enjoy flipping the script on the tranquil image of art.The 'Marry Me'...

The first season of Loki helped introduce audiences to the Time Variance Authority, the Multiverse, and of course, Johnathan Majors as He Who Remains. These elements have become quite important to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, leaving fans anxiously awaiting the second season of the series. It’s been nearly two years since Loki debuted, and star Owen Wilson has a thought on when the release of season 2 might happen.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his new movie, Paint, Owen Wilson teased the Loki season 2 release date. “I guess they have kind of a little shot of Tom Hiddleston and I and Jonathan Majors from Loki season two,” Wilson said. “And I think that’s coming out end of the summer or September.” Wilson promised that the second season will “get very wild.“

In the trailer, Wilson channels the energy of Ross, the famous TV painter, into his character, but with a decidedly more zany personality.

"Don't let fame bring out the worst in you." IFC has revealed full-length official trailer for the film Paint, from writer / director Brit McAdams. This looks like it should be an absolute delight - really looking forward to it. Owen Wilson stars as Carl Nargle, Vermont's #1 public TV painter who's convinced he has it all: a signature perm, custom van, fans hanging on his every stroke... until a younger, better artist steals takes it all from Carl. He soon finds himself in a rut, and the station isn't pulling in ratings. So when they hire a new painter to revitalize the channel, Carl's own fears regarding his talents are brought to the forefront. The film's cast includes Stephen Root, Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Lusia Strus, Lucy Freyer, and Ciara Renée. I adore Bob Ross, so I hope this doesn't smear him... but it also seems like an entirely different story.
