Anyone who grew up in a dysfunctional household knows just how traumatic childhood can be. In Moon Garden, writer/director Ryan Stevens Harris visualizes those traumas as the nightmarish denizens of the dark, industrial wasteland that a young girl finds herself trapped in.
Emma lives with her parents Sara and Alex. They love Emma, but they don’t love each other anymore. After getting a scare one night she runs to their room, only to encounter something even scarier, the two of them in the midst of a loud, intense argument. Running from it she trips and takes a fall down the stairs which leaves her in a coma. Her struggle to awake from it becomes a nightmarish trip...

"The ice humbles all, it reveals our limitations, our weaknesses, our human-ness." Vertical Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for a sci-fi action film titled 2307: Winter's Dream, set (obviously enough) in the year 2307 during a new ice age. The plot in this is a bit weird - scientists bio-engineered Humanoids that possess great strength, speed, and tolerance to extreme cold. When one of these humanoids escapes and threatens to lead a rebellion, an elite team of soldiers is sent to hunt him down. This seems to be much more about the gritty action and nefarious characters than the futuristic time it takes place. 2307: Winter's Dream stars Paul Sidhu, Branden Coles, Arielle Holmes, Kelcey Watson, Anne-Solenne Hatte, Timothy Lee DePriest, and Stormi Henley. This looks like it might be okay, but I'm not excited. You? Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Joey Curtis' 2307: Winter's Dream , direct...

The year is 2307 and Earth is three centuries removed from climate change transforming its surface to glacial ice. Humanity has evolved to living underground, improving technology to help sustain their tenuous ecosystem outside of the subzero temperatures. This includes insulation injections to combat cold for up to 48 hours, strength enhancements, and even artificial intelligence boosters. It also led to the manufacture of a synthetic Humanoid race as slave labor. Super-strong, immune to the elements, and unable to reproduce, they do all the things we can’t in this new world wrought from a hubris that’s allowed the year to mark a second anniversary: five years since Ash-393 (Branden Coles) broke free from his “chains” to lead a devastating Humanoid rebellion that’s yet to be neutralized.
It’s a pretty terrific concept for a sci- actioner with philosophical elements delving into the idea of history and our inexplicable ability...

The androids at the adult amusement park Westworld began to think for themselves one day, with murderous results. In the late Michael Crichton’s 1973 directorial debut Westworld, the beginning of independent artificial intelligence means the end for some humans. Inspired by Crichton’s film and also titled Westworld, HBO’s upcoming pilot just added Ed Harris to its A-list cast.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ed Harris has signed on to play a villain in HBO’s Westworld, described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.” Harrris will play a character called “The Man in Black”, described as “the distillation of pure villainy into one man.” The cast also includes Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Shannon Woodward, and Jeffrey Wright. We have the backgrounds of the other core characters (via The Hollywood Reporter):

A while back I wondered which of the inaugural lineup of Strike.TV web series will be the standout, and I think we have our answer. With the Angels, the dramatic web series from creator (and former lonelygirl15 writer) Mary Feuer, released its season finale today, wrapping up an ambitious 36 episode first season. And in that time, the series has picked up an healthy following known to debate some hefty issues, everything from faith to existentialism and Kierkegaard. Starring Jamie Tisdale as the young small town Arkansas ingenue Taffy, the With the Angels charts her arrival in Venice, California, thrusting her into an unfamiliar world surrounded by unfamiliar people. But through her we come to watch those strangers become friends—friends of our own even—closer and realer than what we've come to expect out in scripted entertainment. The unfamiliar becomes the familiar. With an ensemble cast including Carly Jones (Mallory in lonelygirl15), René Alvarado,...
