- Our generation's greatest and most prolific Key Costumer, Philip Maldonado was born on April 4th, 1962 in Manhattan, New York City. His grandmother was a well known seamstress to local celebrities, and Philip would later discover his innate talent as a dresser at The Metropolitan Opera House (1979), in NYC. Maldonado later relocated to Los Angeles where he worked with the Western Costume Company and Paramount Studios, which transitioned him from theatre to film.
Philip's reign as the Costumer to the stars started with the blockbuster film "Nightmare on Elm Street 4"(1988), where he was the personal Set Costumer to Freddy Krueger, played by Robert Englund and responsible for the aging and distressing work on the iconic sweater. He is known for his work in films such as "Star Trek TNG"(1990), "Titanic"(1997), "Pirates of The Caribbean"(2003), and "Magnificent Seven"(2000), where his work earned him the "Costume Designers Guild Award". His latest international project was in China, for client Matt Damon "Great Wall"(2017).
Maldonado has certainly mastered all skills required of a Key Set Costumer, and greatly contributes to a sense of harmony among crew, production and his specialty, actors on set. Philip now tours and meets his fans at numerous conventions such as Comic Cons and Horror Festivals, an intimate environment, where he enjoys "bringing joy to his supporters and sharing fun stories with them".

- Under his tutelage, Katherine Helmond was much better dressed in Coach than she ever was in Who's the Boss? In sheer contrast to the dreadful jewel tones that did nothing for her complexion, in Oh, a Pro Job: Part 1 (1995), Maldonado dressed her in soft pastel tones and sheer, romantic florals with a vintage flair, in which she looked absolutely gorgeous.
