Last year was the 30th anniversary of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," but there's never a bad time to celebrate the long-running franchise that has seen countless iterations of different teenage superhero teams. A huge contributing factor to the show's popularity was how quickly the characters were slapped onto kid-friendly merchandise and clothing, which meant you weren't cool if you weren't into the "Power Rangers." Well, the fashion creators at Shoe Palace also celebrated their 30th anniversary, and now they're teaming up for a new clothing collection that honors the original team of Red, Black, Blue, Yellow and Pink Power Rangers with fun stuff Og fans can enjoy all these years later. There are t-shirts, hoodies, and joggers depicting the original five Power Rangers, as well as Tommy Oliver as both the Green Ranger and White Ranger. Plus, the Megazord takes the spotlight too. Who says morphin time can't also be fashionable?...

"Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always" is the anniversary special "Power Rangers" fans have been dreaming about for years. While we've had many special episodes throughout the decades, including massive crossover battles involving most Red Rangers (of the time), or different Rangers teams fighting together, this is the first time the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers team has come back, and for a special that is specifically about them. That is, the franchise's first iteration, before it started adapting a different "Super Sentai" show with an entirely different cast, team, and theme song every season.
"Once & Always" pays homage to fallen Rangers, with a lovely and rather emotional tribute to Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang. Trang's character Trini, in particular, is central to the story of the special, with the death of Trini forever impacting the team, and inspiring her daughter Minh to pick up the mantle of the Yellow Ranger.

This Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always article contains spoilers.
Near the beginning of the Netflix special Power Rangers: Once and Always, the Rangers fight Robo Rita and her newly rebuilt monsters of Minotaur and Snizzard in a graveyard. The Rangers are barely able to hold their own but original Black Ranger Zack leaps into the fray to help Billy the Blue Ranger. This angers Minotaur so much he smashes a gravestone that reads,
“Harvey Garvey. 1953-2022.”
That sure is a name, right? Only in Power Rangers. The shot of the gravestone is held on for just enough time to clue the audience in that this isn’t just a random gravestone placed there by the production team. This is a reference. A deep cut reference at that. Yes, Harvey Garvey is a character in the Power Rangers universe. He’s not a Ranger. He’s not a mentor.

This Power Rangers: Once and Always review contains spoilers.
Power Rangers: Once and Always, with a brisk hour-long runtime, does the impossible for a nostalgia focused special. It isn’t concerned with playing solely to cheap memories and easy jokes for casual fans, and isn’t obsessed with deep fan lore, either. Its primary focus is instead on just being the next entry in these characters’ lives. It’s doing something new and not just playing the hits.
The special most closely follows Blue Ranger Billy (David Yost) and Black Ranger Zack (Walter Emanuel Jones). We check in on their lives and see them in new situations. After the death of Yellow Ranger Trini, Zack takes on guardianship of her daughter, Minh (Charlie Kersh). It’s a wonderful new side of Zack that still highlights the character’s familiar warmth and charm. His interactions with Minh are the best part of the special,...

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always will bring back the vile Rita Repulsa (Barbara Goodson), but her return is questionable based on how the character exited the franchise.

The “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” are reuniting with revenge over Rita Repulsa on their minds in Netflix’s 30th anniversary special.
“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always,” which launches April 19 on Netflix, follows the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ quest for vengeance 30 years after Zordon formed the team. While in the midst of a global crisis, a previous threat resurfaces as Rita Repulsa sets her sights on the group.
“After all these years, I found a new body” Rita Repulsa says in the trailer as the Blue Ranger Billy Cranston (David Yost) is in disbelief, saying, “No, it can’t be.” “It’s time for revenge,” Rita Repulsa declares before delivering a devastating blow that leaves the rangers reeling.
The special’s trailer also reveals Rita Repulsa is responsible for the death of Trini, the original Yellow Power Ranger, as Trini’s daughter, Minh (Charlie Kersh), states “she killed mom — we gotta destroy her.

In it, the Dino Fury team saves the world from a giant monster and Javi, the Black Ranger, learns a valuable life lesson in communication after assuming his sister Izzy, the Green Ranger, had a crush on a guy.
“She really was acting different though,” Javi tries to reason. “I was sure it was cause she had feelings for someone.”
He turns around he spots Izzy smiling with Fern, another teen girl and athlete,

“My favorite,” Izzy warmly responds, and holds out her hand to Fern. The two walk off, hand in hand, smiling affectionately at each other. The other Rangers watch them go, delightfully overwhelmed with how cute the two are. Izzy puts her head on Fern’s shoulder.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for the comic Power Rangers Universe #3.
For a franchise that began in 1993 on Fox Kids and has been running for nearly 30 years, in the beginning no one really thought Power Rangers would be a hit. It was a disposable piece of entertainment, something to film as quickly as possible and move on. It’s no wonder that the earliest days of the show were filled with huge pieces of lore that were quickly cast aside. Power Rangers wasn’t some great epic that was being woven with care, the writers were just trying to explain the Japanese source footage as best they could.
Now though Power Rangers is a gigantic franchise with a comic by Boom Studios that delights in expanding on these forgotten pieces of lore. One such bit of lore that was just brought back for the Power Rangers Universe comic is the Sword of Power,...

The last Power Rangers film failed to resonate with audiences, but now the franchise will be getting another reboot with some significant changes. The lineup will be pretty different this time around and though no casting has been announced just yet, Paramount is reportedly interested in a black actress taking on the role of the Yellow Ranger.
Fans of the long-running franchise have seen the members of the team change several times, of course. Every new chapter calls for some fresh talent, and Paramount’s upcoming Power Rangers reboot will look to start over after the less than stellar 2017 film from Lionsgate.
For the upcoming reinvention, our sources – the same ones who said Jim Carrey’s Mask will cameo in Space Jam 2 and a new Scream movie is in the works, both of which are now confirmed – tell us that Paramount is reportedly eyeing a black actress to play the Yellow Ranger.

The Power Rangers are being rebooted for the big screen and Paramount plans to change things up when it comes to the lineup of individuals who’ll be making up the Mighty Morphin team. And of the many changes set to take place, the studio is reportedly eyeing an Asian actress for the role of the Pink Ranger.
Amy Jo Johnson was the first one to bring the character to life both in the TV series and in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. She’s reportedly going to make an appearance in the new film as well, as will the rest of the original cast, and since her time piloting the Pterodactyl Zord and wielding her laser bow, there’ve been several different pink-clad Rangers.
According to our sources though – the same ones who told us that Disney is developing a Beauty and the Beast spinoff for Gaston and...

Millie Bobby Brown has already managed to tick off an impressive amount of franchises in her career so far. Obviously, she’s most known as Eleven in Stranger Things, she’s fought Kaiju monsters in Godzilla: King of the Monsters and she’s about to play Sherlock Holmes’ sister in Enola Holmes. But could Power Rangers be the next move for the teen star? Perhaps, as we’re hearing that it’s a possibility.
Mighty Morphin fans will know that Paramount is moving forward with a reboot of the color-coordinated heroes, with a director (Jonathan Entwistle) and writer (Patrick Burleigh) already attached. They’re now planning out how this incarnation of the team is going to go down and it seems the studio is looking for the biggest young talent around to play the Rangers.

Earlier this month, we told you that Disney is currently mapping out a live-action adaptation of the beloved Japanese anime TV series Dragon Ball. Now, it appears that the studio already has their eye on who they want to play Goku, as according to our sources, Aquaman star Ludi Lin is currently on the company’s wishlist to take on the part. And given that this intel comes to us from the same sources who said a new Scream movie was in the works, and that an Aladdin sequel is in development, both of which were later confirmed, we have no reason to doubt it.

Power Rangers actor Ludi Lin is reportedly in talks to join the Mortal Kombat reboot movie to play key character Liu Kang.
Mortal Kombat was the fighting game franchise that distinguished itself as the ostentatiously ultraviolent Chinese grindhouse-inspired alternative to the cartoony quarter-munching of the Street Fighter franchise, notably with its over-the-top characters. However, its de facto main character has been, for the most part, the ascetic and honorable chopsocky Shaolin monk warrior, Liu Kang. Consequently, it’s probably big news that the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot movie has found the actor who will play the crucial (k)ombatant.
Ludi Lin is in negotiations with New Line Cinema to pull off the proverbial fatality of landing the role of Liu Kang in the Mortal Kombat reboot film, reports Variety. While the Chinese-Canadian actor may not yet be a household name, he’s coming off some prominent roles,...

One episode of Black Mirror season 5 is bursting with McU and DC actors. Was it deliberate?
This article comes from Den of Geek UK.
In a geek gathering to rival any number of Doctor Who anniversary eps, a single episode of Black Mirror season 5 – "Striking Vipers" – brings together the McU’s Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff), with Black Manta from DC’s Aquaman (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and the Black Ranger from Power Rangers (Ludi Lin).
That many comic book movie actors in one place must have been deliberate, mustn’t it? Den of Geek asked Black Mirror creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones…
Charlie Brooker: No, it wasn’t!
Annabel Jones: You mean, with forethought and being organized?
Cb: And Pom is in there as well…
Aj: From Guardians of the Galaxy.
Cb: No.
Aj: [Laughs] We are not that savvy.
Cb: We don’t have...
