Netflix’s Live-Action adaptation of the American animated fantasy action television series by Michael Dante Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko, Avatar: The Last Airbender has successfully taken over the fans. It has managed to reignite the love fans had for the original series and is making waves on the internet.
Avatar: The Last Airbender
The series premiered a successful first season which showed the epic battle between the Northern Water Tribe and The Fire Nation and now fans are waiting for the second season. Although the original series had a lot of successors that portrayed the story of other Avatars too, Netflix’s adaptation might only focus on the battle between Aang and the fire nation.
However, the series has also brought back some sad memories from the original show that proved to be quite a difficult moment for fans. The worst one among them was the death of Aang and his ally/friend Sokka.

Surprise! Dead Island 2 is now available to download on Xbox Game Pass. Didn’t know it was coming to the subscription service? Neither did we! The title developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver stealth-dropped on Game Pass today, just in time for a weekend of zombie-bashing in paradise with your Xbox friends.
“With the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate version, you’ll have unlimited access to the base game on Xbox, including co-op functionality,” reads a blog post on the game’s website. “So, there’s no need to go it alone – gather your squad and take on the horde together in thrilling co-op action!”
In our write-up of the game last year, Den of Geek called Dead Island 2 “the Return of the Living Dead of zombie games,” a very high compliment if you’re up to speed on that horror comedy classic from 1985. We also lauded Dead Island 2‘s Flesh combat system,...

Matt Damon will join Mark Ruffalo and Missy Yager in a special benefit reading next month of Kenneth Lonergan’s This Is Our Youth, the acclaimed play that premiered Off Broadway in 1996 in a production starring Ruffalo, Yager and Josh Hamilton.
The reading will be directed by Mark Brokaw (How I Learned To Drive), who directed the original staging, on Nov. 16 at Manhattan’s Center at West Park, an Upper West Side arts facility and cultural hub that provides affordable performance, rehearsal, and event space to local artists and community members. Funds raised will benefit the Center.
The event, honoring the Center’s Founding and Current Board President Mim Warden, will kick off the Center’s new Renowned American Playwrights Showcase, a series of readings of acclaimed stage works performed predominantly by their original casts. Upcoming readings will include the works of Tony Kushner, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Suzan-Lori Parks and more.

Whenever a video game’s sequel is announced, fans usually expect the game to hit three checkmarks: the game must be bigger, badder, and better. Or to put it bluntly, they want roughly the same experience but with more real estate, mechanics, and story. This sounds like a great strategy, but some developers disagree and believe it is the cause of many problems in the modern game industry.
Recently, IGN posted a retrospective of Dead Island 2 and its troubled development. For those who don’t know, the recently released sequel went through four developers. Dambuster Studios might have finished Dead Island 2, but Techland, Yager Development, and Sumo Digital all did some work on some version of the title beforehand. After the first three studios were dropped, it was Dambuster’s chance to shine and pitch their vision of the zombie-stomping simulator. The studio showed off its ideas, got the project,...

There are enough gripping and disturbing stories partially told in FX’s Children of the Underground to keep the five-part documentary series watchable, with a unifying argument made sufficiently to be persuasive.
At the same time, it’s a documentary about a moment of moral and legal chaos that confuses narrative messiness with narrative ambiguity. Children of the Underground is marred by inconsistent sourcing, a lack of overall focus and the fact that its overarching thesis, however convincing it may be, is forgotten entirely through most of the series’ journey.
Directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite (Blackfish) and Ted Gesing, Children of the Underground is ostensibly the story of Faye Yager, who parlayed her experiences with a legal system unprepared to deal with family accusations of sexual abuse into a vigilante network designed to protect mothers and children from predatory fathers too often protected by the courts.

There’s frequent talk in the new FX docuseries “Children of the Underground” about the misinformation that often accompanies allegations of abuse. Director Gabriela Cowperthwaite showcases a court landscape where judges aren’t given vetted information, where women who show too much emotion are “hysterical,” and where husbands don’t “fit the part” of a man who could abuse his children. It’s impossible to watch this series about sexual abuse and not see shades of a recent celebrity court trial, or the numerous allegations women have brought forth about powerful men.
And, really, that’s the point of “Children of the Underground.” Too often the abused, mainly women, are disbelieved in favor of someone who looks more “rational” and “stable” to those in power. Mainly men. Cowperthwaite takes the same blunt approach that she did in exposing the mistreatment of Orca whales in her 2013 documentary “Blackfish” and applies it...
