Today is the latest deadline for campaigns and committees to disclose donors, offering a glimpse at who is putting up huge sums in the 2024 elections, which may end up being the most expensive ever.
According to the latest filings with the Federal Election Commission, Jeffrey Katzenberg, who is campaign co-chair of Joe Biden’s campaign, contributed $1 million to the Ff Pac, which is short for Future Forward, the main independent entity backing the president’s re-election bid. Future Forward made news this week when it announced plans to spend $250 million in an advertising blitz in battleground states. Money is being raised via the SuperPAC and a non profit, meaning some donors have to be disclosed and others do not.
Also contributing to Ff Pac was Sheryl Sandberg, the former Meta exective who recently announced that she was leaving the tech giant’s board. According to Fec records, she contributed $500,059 in...

Attorneys and First Amendment champions Amal Clooney and Theodore Boutrous Jr. were honored on Tuesday by the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press and participated in a virtual discussion on modern threats to journalists and recent challenges to press protections.

Sullivan case is still appropriate in the modern media era. As case law currently stands, public figures must show a news outlet ...

Update, Oct. 24, 1:46 p.m. Pt: White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said that the White House will instruct federal agencies not to renew their subscriptions to The Washington Post and The New York Times.
She told The Wall Street Journal that “not renewing subscriptions across all federal agencies will be a significant cost saving – hundreds of thousands in taxpayer dollars will be saved.”
President Donald Trump has long bashed both papers for their reporting, but signaled earlier this week that he planned to “terminate” their subscriptions in the White House.
Spokespersons for the Times and the Post had no comment.
Previously, Oct. 21, 8:10 p.m. Pt: President Donald Trump appeared on Fox News’ Hannity for an hour-long interview Monday night, and as you would expect, there was some bashing of the “fake news” media.

Hours after Joe Biden said that he had to be more aggressive in debates, he made a swipe at Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump’s lawyer and a primary trafficker in claims and conspiracy theories about Biden and his son, Hunter.
“The guy’s a thug, Giuliani. No, he’s a thug. I know him,” Biden told about 100 people gathered at the Brentwood home of Paramount’s Jim Gianopulos and his wife, Ann.
According to a pool report, Biden continued, “And the president is the most dishonorable president in American history. And folks, he picked the wrong guy to pick a fight with, because I’ll tell you what. I’m going to beat him like a drum.”
The event at the Gianopulos home on Thursday evening was Biden’s second fundraiser of the day. Earlier, he spoke at the home of producer Michael Lombardo and his husband, Sonny Ward,...
