The super Pac aligned with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), Never Back Down, has decided to part ways with their interim CEO of nine days and two of their top officials.
Interim CEO Kristin Davison, the Director of Operations Matt Palmisan and the Communications Director Erin Perrine were fired on December 2, but the organization did not share their reasoning behind these decisions.
Staffers at Never Back Down were surprised to hear the news of the firings.
Davison took the position on November 22, after Chris Jankowski departed from the organization.
Scott Wagner has been chosen to act as the interim CEO and chairman of the board.
Never Back Down’s press secretary, Dave Vasquez, released a statement, sharing, “Scott Wagner will now serve as Chairman of the Board and interim CEO of Never Back Down. Never Back Down has the most organized, advanced caucus operation of anyone in the 2024 primary field,...

The Florida Standard has gone belly up. The death of a low-circulation right-wing rag would normally be fairly unremarkable, except that this particular publication is a favorite propaganda outfit of Florida governor and presidential candidate Ron DeSantis.
According to a report from The Floridian, the Standard, which has for months now operated on extremely friendly, very accessible terms with the DeSantis campaign, has fired all of its staff and will cease operating before the new year. Sources who spoke to The Floridian stated that Desantis had been instrumental in propping...

Ron DeSantis has a pretty straightforward theory for why he could do what Ted Cruz (or Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio or Scott Walker or …) couldn’t. When all those once-promising presidential candidates tried to take down Donald Trump in 2016, they were doing so in a crowded field, backstabbing one another as Trump consolidated a movement behind him and rode it all the way to the White House. This time around, the Florida governor is promising he’ll go mano a mano with Donald — and take him down.

As the outgoing president’s legal cases to thwart Joe Biden’s 2020 election win continue to fail, the argument that Trump was actually victorious is becoming more and more farcical with each passing day. And Saturday’s heated Fox interview with Trump’s Director of Press Communications Erin Perrine proved as much.
In the interview, Perrine glossed over host Leland Vittert’s simple question about how Trump can secure 270 electoral votes, the amount needed to win the presidency, causing Vittert to abruptly end the interview.
Vittert: [With Trump having] no plans to concede,...

President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday morning that the American people should not be afraid of Covid-19, even though the disease has taken nearly 210,000 lives nationwide. While Trump’s messaging may come from directly from his Twitter feed, those in the president’s closest circle are also adopting a heroic and positive tone when it comes to addressing 45’s infection.
“There’s nothing noble about getting corona because you refused to be safe. But they’re claiming Trump has gained valuable experience from personally being infected with the coronavirus, well what exactly is it that Trump has learned?” asks The Daily Show host Trevor Noah.
Noah, along with Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers, dug into how Rudy Giuliani, Kayleigh McEnany, Erin Perrine and more of the president’s advisors are turning the story of the president’s bout with the deadly disease into one of strength and courage.

Donald Trump’s rally in Henderson, Nv, didn’t get the kind of coverage that his most recent events have for one good reason: It was indoors, with many of his supporters not wearing masks and not socially distanced.
Out of health concerns, the major broadcast and cable networks kept their correspondents outside the rally.
“NBC News reporters did not go inside the rally and we will continue to follow and monitor prevailing public health guidelines regarding large indoor gatherings as we have since the start of the pandemic,” said a network spokesperson. An ABC News source said, “We do not go inside rallies.” Fox News’ Jonathan Hunt reported from outside the event.
CNN’s Brian Stelter reported on Reliable Sources on Sunday that Trump’s defiance of social distancing guidelines had forced news outlets to make some “tough decisions” on how to cover the events, forcing them to rely...

Update: The Trump campaign has issued a denial that pranksters held down Tulsa rally attendance.
“Leftists and online trolls doing a victory lap, thinking they somehow impacted rally attendance, don’t know what they’re talking about or how our rallies work,” campaign manager Brad Parscale said in a statement.
Parscale said registrations for the Tulsa rally were vetted and “we constantly weed out bogus numbers, as we did with tens of thousands at the Tulsa rally.”
“These phony ticket requests never factor into our thinking,” he said. He also accused the media of creating a climate of fear that held down the numbers.
“For the media to now celebrate the fear that they helped create is disgusting, but typical. And it makes us wonder why we bother credentialing media for events when they don’t do their full jobs as professionals,” he said in the statement.
