Pravina Shukla
Dr. Pravina Shukla is a Professor of Folklore in the Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology at Indiana University-Bloomington. Her research interests include folk art and material culture, body art, dress and costume, museum studies, food art and culture in India, Brazil, United States. Her major publications include: Sacred Art: Catholic Saints and Candomblé Gods in Modern Brazil with co-author Henry Glassie (2017),
Costume: Performing Identities through Dress (2015), The Individual and Tradition: Folkloristic Perspectives with co-editors Ray Cashman and Tom Mould (2011), and The Grace of Four Moons: Dress, Adornment, and the Art of the Body in Modern India (2008). She received the President's Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2018.
