During the dinner, which raised $400,000 to help fund treatment for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans dealing with Ptsd, Gyllenhaal read the poem You Will Be Destroyed in Your Own Way, written by military veteran Derrick Brown, and Edwards, Straithairn and Taylor performed a scene from the Japanese play Fujito, about the grief and sorrow caused by war, particularly when it claims the lives of innocent people. Imprisoned rapper Gucci Mane has been hit with a lawsuit for allegedly failing to perform two concerts in Pennsylvania last year. Bosses at Marshall Productions and Rockstar Entertainment have filed papers against the hip-hop star, real name Radric Davis, and two business partners, claiming the trio booked two shows in Pittsburgh - and took cash deposits for both - even though they knew that legal restrictions on Mane's travel would prevent the gigs from taking place.
The concert promoters claim the rapper's reps took two deposits of $13,750 to secure his appearance at shows last August. Parole restrictions stemming from a 2005 felony assault prevented the rap star from leaving his home in Georgia at the time.
