With Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan, the first part of Martin Bourboulon’s adaptation of Alexander Dumas’ classic novel, hitting all the right notes, it was expected that the second half of the epic saga was going to be as exciting as the first one. And Bourboulon’s film turns out to be exactly how you thought it would be—chaotic, exhilarating, and entertaining. Like the first part, this one also keeps the main essence of the novel intact while making some significant changes. I assume you must be surprised to see how certain things have turned out here. In this article, we’re going to dissect Three Musketeers: Milady and will also address the possibility of this turning into a trilogy.

Stars: François Civil, Vincent Cassel, Romain Duris, Pio Marmai, Eva Green, Louis Garrel, Vicky Krieps, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Lyna Khoudri, Eric Ruf, Marc Barbé | Written by Matthieu Delaporte, Alexandre de La Patellière | Directed by Martin Bourboulon
Directed by Martin Bourboulon, this French adaptation of the classic Alexandre Dumas novel is part one of two, with the second (Milady) due to be released in France in December. Positively bursting with French talent, it’s a swashbuckling treat from start to finish, and the best Dumas adaptation in decades.
Set in 1627, the film begins with young Charles D’Artagnan (François Civil) arriving in Paris from Gascony, his heart set on becoming one of the King’s Musketeers. However, things don’t quite go according to plan, and by noon, he’s accidentally offended three of them – nobleman Athos (Vincent Cassel), fun-loving Porthos (Pio Marmai) and elegant Aramis (Romain Duris) – and been challenged to three separate duels.

Things continue to change at Bottom Dollar, and the team is feeling those changes heavily.
Once Minx took off, it was obvious that dynamics and roles would change, but seeing it play out is sad for everyone involved because it just doesn't feel like that Minx of yesteryear.
Minx Season 2 Episode 4 saw Doug and Bambi's dreams dashed, Joyce doing a little shopping, and Richie and Tina questioning their worth. And if that sounds depressing, it should. And it was.
In his quest to be more than the merchandise man, Doug and Bambi teamed up on a super secret project, which was basically just a way to impress Constance and further Minx's profitability.
Doug is a businessman, and he's a hustler. The day Doug Renetti isn't conjuring up the next big thing in an attempt to get rich and feed his ego will be a cold day in hell.
But this...

[This story contains spoilers from Minx season two, episode four: “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Sexiness.”]
In Minx‘s second season, Ophelia Lovibond’s Joyce Prigger is finally wearing the pants when it comes to control over the magazine’s business and creative content decisions.
Her reunion with Jake Johnson’s publisher Doug Renetti — after his ego let her walk away from the magazine last season — has resulted in a new hierarchy at the publication (titled “Minx”). One where the magazine has returned better than ever, but with the financial backing of Elizabeth Perkins’ Constance Papadopoulos, a billionaire shipping magnate who has sparred with men for control in her own life.
And she has given Joyce majority control, allowing Minx’s co-founder and concept creator to finally envision the magazine how she wants — with fewer compromises.
“I think she’s enjoying the power and being able to pack her opinions with a punch,” Lovibond...

Doug Renetti (Jake Johnson) is putting everything he has into the brand for Minx‘s latest episode, “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Sexiness,” and we have your exclusive first look at his efforts. As the episode logline teases, Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond) is letting herself get a little sidetracked by a new romantic connection while Doug and Bambi (Jessica Lowe) work together to create “Club Minx,” a potential extension of the brand. Their efforts yield exciting results for onlookers in the sneak peek clip above, which sees Doug working his magic to make male dancers shine and excite the audience. (Credit: Starz) While Joyce, Constance (Elizabeth Perkins), and Tina (Idara Victor) observe the performance among the audience, Doug watches from the sidelines, miming moves and motivating the dancers. After being canceled by Max and saved by Starz, Minx is at last returning for Season 2 this July. And in the Minx Season 2 trailer released today, Jake Johnson declares the sexy magazine (and the series itself) is “back and we are better than ever.” “A lot of people counted us out, but we are back and we are better than ever,” his sleazy character Doug declares in the trailer’s first moments, set on a glittering red carpet. Elizabeth Perkins‘ new character, Constance, is seen standing by Doug’s side, and Ophelia Lovibond’s Joyce appears next, saying the porn business isn’t nearly as hard as men make it out to be (it’s giving ’70s Elle Woods). Things are also looking up for Joyce as she gears up to sign a publishing contract with some eager corporate leaders in the next shot. “An iconic editor needs an iconic publisher,...

Minx is thriving under Joyce's (Ophelia Lovibond) leadership, and we can't wait to see what's on tap for everyone.
Starz went public with the trailer for Minx Season 2 on Wednesday, and it shows the magazine reaching dizzying heights.
There's even a perfectly timed bit of dialogue from Jake Johnson's Doug at the beginning:
"A lot of people counted us out. But we are back and better than ever!"
Many did count the show out after HBO Max canceled Minx after one season.
We have Starz to thank for picking up Minx Season 2 because this show is a true gem, and the story deserves to be told.
It's a rarity to have such a refreshing show on the air, and thankfully, we'll have fresh episodes when Minx Season 2 debuts Friday, July 21.
The trailer promises to up the ante both on the show and for the magazine.
