Born in Michigan, Sue enjoys the snow! She has also lived in Ohio, Massachusetts, New York, Florida, and Tennessee. She loves travel, and has visited over 95% of the United States. She has also planned trips to Canada, Mexico, Western Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, waiting for her next adventure.
Her varied life entertainment experiences have included college and community theatre, regional and international choir tours, and paid employment as synagogue vocalist, also performing with union bands and orchestras. Her singing began at age 9 in church choir, and French Horn playing at the age of 12. She minored in music in college, and she has been singing and playing the French Horn most of her life.
Over the years, Sue has tutored French horn students, leading church youth choir and bands. She has performed as alto soloist in the Messiah with Marshall United Methodist Church in Michigan. She has sung with the Westwind Magdrigals in western Massachusetts, touring Europe with "Sounds of Hope" as a choir member. She loves harmonies, and vocalizing with others that enjoy the same. Her French Horn playing has been continuous since high school marching band to Praise and Worship lead with many churches, including the renowned Christ Fellowship Church in West Palm Beach, Florida. Sue has played her horn with the local Knoxville Christian Arts Ministry, where a production is presented to Tennessee prisons, providing hope to prisoners.
Outside of the entertainment industry, Sue has enjoyed a successful career ranging from Math teaching, through a long history with energy rate analysis, to corporate training for leadership development with the Tennessee Valley Authority. She has achieved the highest credential with Toastmasters International, acquiring her Distinguished Toastmaster award in 2012. She has served as emcee with that organization, as well as offsite work staff meetings, enjoying all sorts of public speaking. She has also supervised a technical team of rate analysts as part of her career.
She received her wings with PSA Airlines, while training as a flight attendant. Other transitional employment has included work in the federal government with the Post Office, substitute teaching with the Knox County Schools, unarmed security officer work with G4S, and serving as a realtor with Weichert Referrals. The next adventure is with FEMA, doing disaster recovery work.
When you don't find her playing her horn or singing a tune, you might find her on hikes in the Smokies, or camping in Michigan's north. She has also been known to join her mom for art class, doing some acrylic painting.
Mostly Sue likes to be thought of for her ministry work in church services, as she enjoys providing hope to those in need in her community.
