Back in 2011, Yeon Sang-ho’s “The King of Pigs” sent ripples in the movie industry, being the first adult animated film produced in South Korea, the first film of its kind to screen in Cannes, and a recipient of three awards in Busan. Now, based on the same material, actually Yeon’s childhood, Kim Dae-jin presents a live-action series edition, in 12 episodes. (This review is for the first 4).
“The King of Pigs” is screening on Fantasia International Film Festival
A serial killer is on the loose, with his murders being particularly brutal, shocking every policeman that comes across them, with the exception of Kang Jin-ah, a brilliant detective whose intense tactics and obsession with solving crimes have alienated her from her colleagues. It is she who discovers a message written on a window, of the killer addressing a homicide detective, Jong-suk, even identifying himself as his childhood friend, Hwang Kyung-min.

The Cat (aka- Cat: Two Eyes That See Death)
Go-hyang-i: Jook-eum-eul Bo-neun Doo Gae-eui Noon (original title)
Cast:Min-Young Park (as So-Yeon) ,Dong-wook Kim, Ye-ron Kim (as creepy kid)
Director:Seung-wook Byeon
Writer:Seung-wook Byeon
At first look…
Tricky to get a feel for a film with such a simple title, but with the alternate title of “Two Eyes That See Death,” I can picture a docile feline who voyeurs a family bloodbath… and then takes a break to lick its paws. I might not have been too far off the mark with this one…
For some reason, fat ladies with cats do not live long in these movies and sure enough, a chubby lady with a cat named Silky (gag me) is found dead at her apartment to kick things off. The ill-named feline moves to the...

Last June we bought you a blood-stained poster and creepy trailer for Korea's new Seung-wook Byeon helmed horror flick 'The Cat'. Now a new poster featuring...well...a cat, obviously...has popped up on the wonder that is the Web. It opened in Korean theatres last July but there is still no word on an international release thus far. Park Min-yeong, Kim Dong-wuk, Kim Min-jae, Sin Da-eun and Kim Ye-ron all star. Check out the poster and plot details below. Also make sure you click on the link at the bottom of the article and head on over to Fine Cut to check out a less than sinister pic of cute little old pussy which seems oddly out of place on a horror listing....
