The first season of Reacher became an unexpected hit – the adaptation of Lee Child's novels attracted viewers unfamiliar with the source material, as well as fans of the books who complained that the character previously played by Tom Cruise was far from what Child described.
The second season came out almost two years after the release of the first, and the show was renewed for a third season at the end of 2023. And only recently new information has emerged – a new chapter of Reacher's story will be released in 2025.
It's still a long wait, so here are five TV shows to help you pass the time while you wait for the new season.
1. Banshee, 2013-2016
After creating True Blood for HBO, Alan Ball was trusted with a new production – a thriller about a former criminal who suddenly became the sheriff of the town of Banshee, somewhere in Pennsylvania.

Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming series based on James Patterson’s Alex Cross novels is being renewed for Season 2, Variety has learned from sources.
The show, which stars Aldis Hodge as Cross, has yet to debut its first season or even set a premiere date. But according to sources, Amazon was impressed enough with what they have seen from the first season to greenlight the second and begin casting. Jeanine Mason has reportedly already been cast in Season 2.
Reps for Amazon declined to comment.
If “Cross” proves to be popular, it would be the latest successful Amazon series based on a long-running novel character. The company found themselves with a massive hit on their hands courtesy of “Reacher” starring Alan Ritchson, based on the Jack Reacher novels written by Lee Child. Likewise, Amazon’s longest-running series to date was the cop drama “Bosch,” based on the Harry Bosch novels written by Michael Connelly.

A prequel series starring Taylor Kitsch is also in the works, Deadline reports.
The Terminal List was a huge success for the streaming service upon its launch in July.
Reviews weren't great, but the deciding factor was the impressive performance on Amazon's streaming service.
It landed at #3 on the Nielsen streaming chart, with 1.1 billion minutes viewed in its first week of availability.
Pratt had been vocal about wanting more from the Terminal List universe.
The actor and producer appeared on Jack Carr's (the writer of the Terminal List novel) podcast Danger Close last year and said as much.
"To the rabid fans of The Terminal List out there, you have nothing to worry about," he said.

The Terminal List starring Chris Pratt recently premiered and drove a wedge right between critics and casual viewers.
While it was critically panned by most major outlets and currently holds a 34 approval rating on Rottentomatoes, it seems to be a hit with audiences and was highly rated on those scales.
The debate around this series has also grown very political, as the main character in this show is a Navy Seal, and it’s adapted from the experiences of former Seal Jack Carr wrote about in his book.
Publications like Variety and The Daily Beast criticized the pro-military themes in the series with the latter pub calling it an “unhinged right-wing revenge fantasy.”
Both Carr and Pratt have responded to the poor critical reception of the show by emphasizing the high viewership.

“The Terminal List” is dead-set on surviving scathing reviews.
The Chris Pratt-led Prime Video series is based on a book by former Navy Seal Jack Carr, who serves as an executive producer on the show. While the series has a 94 percent audience score and a 39 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, Carr told Fox News that liberal-leaning media critics slammed the series because “there’s not this woke stuff that’s shoved into it” (via Mediaite).
“There’s no ‘woke’ or ‘anti-woke,’ but just because there’s not this ‘woke’ stuff that’s shoved into it, then it’s perceived — by critics, at least — as not promoting their agenda, so they’re going to hate it,” Carr said. “We don’t mention right, left, conservative, liberal, none of those things are even mentioned.”
Carr called out a Daily Beast review that likened the series to an “unhinged right-wing revenge fantasy.

Chris Pratt strips down to his underwear for an epic fight scene in his new Amazon Prime Video action thriller series “The Terminal List.”
The scene finds the actor being attacked by would-be assassins while he’s undergoing an Mri.
“I used to fight my brother a lot in my underwear,” Pratt joked at the series premiere in Los Angeles. “Oftentimes, we’d run around in our underwear fighting each other.”
Obviously, “The Terminal List” fisticuffs were something quite different. “It was originally choreographed to be a little bit more like a big action fight sequence,” Pratt said. “And I just remember saying, ‘This is a man fighting for his life. I want it to be dirty. So I’m gonna punch him in the balls. I’m gonna rip out their eyes. I’m gonna do everything you wouldn’t do in a sanctioned boxing match, right? It’s not a clean fight.
