Prepare to Die, the new Tubi original from director Jose Montesinos and co-writer Jacob David Smith begins like many classic martial arts films such as The 18 Bronzemen, as a child watches his family killed in front of them.
In this case it’s young Diego Padilla who sees Blaine Richtefield kill his father and is forced to hear what Richtefield’s goons did to his mother. He tells his driver Silas to kill the boy but instead has him smuggled into China. There he lives and trains in martial arts with Silas’ brother Bingwen and his daughter Xin Yi. He wants to return to Texas and avenge his parents, but Bingwen forbids it. However, when he...

The Power Universe loves to occasionally sprinkle in Easter eggs, and in the fourth episode of "Power Book II: Ghost"'s third season, longtime "Power" viewers spotted a familiar face - someone who could become a game changer later in the series.
In the episode, titled "The Land of Opportunity," we meet a DEA agent named Angel "Junior" Young (Kevin Rodriguez), who's aiding Detective Blanca's (Monique Gabriela Curnen) latest investigation. The two are shown at a crime-scene aftermath of a motel shootout between the Tejada clan - Lorenzo (Berto Colon), Cane (Woody McClain), and Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray) - and some arms dealers, one of whom happens to be a criminal informant for Blanca. Junior makes a brief appearance as he explains to Blanca that her C.I. has been shot and transported to a hospital and is in critical condition. Junior's small scene may seem insignificant, but it could...

Another week, another major player on "Power Book II: Ghost" meets a tragic fate - though many viewers probably saw this one coming. This time, the hit "Power" spinoff bid farewell to the nuisance that is Detective Kevin Whitman (Jeff Hephner) after he overstepped his boundaries one too many times with Monet (Mary J. Blige).
Ever since the death of Monet's nephew son Zeke (Daniel Bellomy), Whitman has been hot on her tracks trying to pin a murder on her that he thinks she committed, aka Carrie Milgram's (which she committed for sleeping around with Zeke). Note: Carrie and Whitman have history together, too. Whitman, a too-dedicated-to-his-job detective, has also been working with federal prosecutor Jenny Sullivan (Paton Ashbrook) and Detective Blanca Rodriguez (Monique Gabriela Curnen) to aid their Rico case that could get Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.), Brayden (Gianni Paolo), and the Tejadas - Cane (Woody McClain), Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray...

Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 has been on an absolute tear.
This season has been a thrilling ride thus far, delivering non-stop action and raising the stakes higher than ever before.
Part of that exhilarating journey has revolved around those on the other side of the drugs and murder, namely Jenny Sullivan, who has made it her personal mission to rid the streets of the murderous group of criminals that have evaded the law for so long.
We got to jump on a video chat with Jenny's portrayer, Paton Ashbrook, who was gracious and extremely candid in her responses to all our pressing questions. It's always great to speak with actors who are so passionate about the characters they portray.
This was a wonderful conversation, with some great insight into what we'll continue to see from Jenny and her storyline as the season progresses.

It was only a matter of time before one of these overzealous characters ended up dead.
If you haven’t had a chance to watch Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Episode 4 yet, then keep reading at your own risk because we're starting at the big death during the hour and working our way back.
This death will have little emotional fallout, but that information the dead man was sitting on has the potential to change the course of an entire family's life.
Rip Kevin Whitman.
He was extremely annoying, wildly unethical, and kind of a jerk, but that doesn't mean he deserved to die. And the way he died at the hands of the woman he was harassing on the regular must have been one hell of a gut-punch for him.
Whitman has been on a rampage since Carrie's death, as he obviously felt a tremendous amount of regret regarding...

Rashad Tate doesn’t do anything for free.
Since the minute he came on the scene, Tate has made it known that everything he does comes with a price. And he’s not above doing anything if it means he can score himself a payday in the process.
As you’ll see in this exclusive clip TV Fanatic received ahead of Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Episode 4, Tate gives Tariq some interesting intel, but Tariq has to cough up some dough to get it.
Jenny and Blanca have been steadily building up their Rico case, and until now, they’ve been able to keep everyone off their scent.
Going to Tate may prove costly in the long run, though, as he lets it slip to Tariq that they’re not only talking to him but looking into Mecca’s death.
It’s news to Tariq, who plays it off like...

We have bad news for The Rookie fans — the ABC show is taking one last long hiatus before the final episodes of season 5. So that means that we can’t look forward to new installments for a couple more weeks. But in the meantime, we can prepare for what the remainder of season 5 has in store for viewers.
Lisseth Chavez as Celina Juarez and Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen | ABC/John Fleenor ‘The Rookie’ Season 5 isn’t new tonight

Blanca's murderer turned out to be a serial killer on The Rookie Season 5 Episode 19. Who saw that coming?
Our TV Fanatics, Denis, Jasmine, and Christine, debate the consequences of the five-player-trade, Celina not seeing the killer in her life, Angela and Nyla's interrogation tactics, and more!
And will Chenford's crazy work schedule become a problem? Read on to find out what our round table thinks.
The person who abducted and murdered Blanca turned out to be a serial killer. Was that a satisfying conclusion? How do you rate this case from beginning to end?
Denis: This case had the potential to be a miss, but they found a way to make it grander. It was a satisfying conclusion for me, but they could have dived into the troubling statistics of missing children and people of color. That would have had a much bigger real impact on the viewer...

Blanca finally has justice.
The Rookie Season 5 Episode 19 revisited the case of Celina's sisters and others like her, which offered many of the things we love most about the series.
And the continuity carrying over was on point.
We knew they wouldn't delve into the death of Celina's sister if they didn't intend to explore and most likely find some closure within it.
And they didn't disappoint.
The disappearance of young Olivia, ironically on the day that Celina's sister disappeared, was a case that got the ball in motion for concluding what amounted to a decades-long serial killer.
It was the biggest lead that they've gotten on the case in a while after however long Celina has spent looking into things. Nolan has been with her along the way, managing how to filter information to her and getting her to stay focused and not get overly attached to the...
