As most of our Gold Derby users predicted, Brooklyn-based Geoffrey Mac was named the winner of Season 18 with his 10-piece New York Fashion Week collection that featured metal mesh puffer coats as well as more refined ensembles. As someone who was given to second guessing himself and fretting about his future as a designer if he didn’t get the title, it was great to see him smile and revel in his triumph on the last episode of the season.
But as lovely as it was that this big-hearted designer did himself proud, there were other moments that were worth savoring during the finale that also sparked joy. In fact, it was the arrival of a last-minute addition to the cat-eyed Moldovan designer Victoria Cocieru‘s collection that proved to be the favorite among fans who took our poll — her gorgeous off-the-shoulder white sweater gown that was more refined than...

I don’t know about you, but I thought all four of the final “Project Runway” designers who competed at New York Fashion Week did themselves proud both with their distinctive looks and how they grew as artists.
Geoffrey Mac, who was named the winner of Season 18 — making him the oldest winner at age 42 –overcame his penchant for dithering at Mood. Victoria Cocieru almost quit in the middle of the competition after throwing a diva fit as she struggled with an outfit that was supposed to be sheer. But she managed to get her act together enough to be safe from being cut. Nancy Volpe-Beringer — the oldest contestant — had a habit of repeating the same type of baggy trouser. But she came through when it counted as she featured in her collection a pant suit that was impeccably tailored .

“They came, they showed, they conquered New York Fashion Week,” says our ‘Project Runway’ after-show host Christian Siriano. “And now we have a winner!” namely, designer Geoffrey Mac. Turns out the New Yorker is the oldest winner of the show ever at 42. “At his most panicked to his most endearing, Geoffrey’s charm was irresistable while his skill and singular vision were consistent and undeniable.” But he brings out the Season 18 champ, Christian will chat with three runners-up — Nancy Volpe-Beringer, Victoria Cocieru and Sergio Guaddarama.
He festively declares, “It’s not an after show, it’s an After Party!” He declares it his Oprah moment, “It’s a party!” Adult beverages included. Nancy immediately freaks out when Christian takes a sip before anyone else. “You know what that means,” she asks emphatically. While the other designers guess bad luck, Nancy tells Christian, “It’s 1o years of bad sex.”

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched the season finale of “Project Runway” Season 18.
This season of “Project Runway” couldn’t end without Sergio Guadarrama fighting for one final cause. This time? The arctic, and what humanity is doing to it. He also stole some spotlight for a personal proposal. But in the end, he didn’t come away with the biggest prize — Geoffrey Mac did.
Last week, viewers were left with a cliffhanger. The episode ended with the final four contestants — Guadarrama, Mac, Nancy Volpe-Beringer and Victoria Cocieru — still in the running to advance to New York Fashion Week and ultimately take home the quarter-million dollar prize and Cfda mentorship.
Cocieru’s looks paid homage to Moldova, her home country, and included crocheted hats that her mom helped her make. The judges were impressed, but the collection wasn’t quite there to put her in first.

The final four. On tonight's Project Runway season 18 finale, designers Sergio Guadarrama, Nancy Volpe-Beringer, Geoffrey Mac and Victoria Cocieru learned whether or not they made it through to New York Fashion Week. The answer: All four were invited to debut their collections at Spring Studios. "There is a lot on the line," host Karlie Kloss advised the designer after a brief celebration. "So, as you finish your collections, take into consideration everything that you heard today." What the four finalists didn't know at the time of this warning? The final runway would be judged by tennis legend and fashion icon Serena Williams. For the exciting finale, Williams joined judges...

On the heels of last week’s elimination cliffhanger, the judges unanimously decided to send all four designers to New York Fashion Week on Thursday’s Project Runway finale — but their work was far from over.
The final four’s first stop was the Cfda offices, where branding gurus Sara Kozlowski and Rachna Shah offered each designer some advice about their collections’ overall concepts. Echoing the judges’ earlier critique, they told Victoria Cocieru to tone down her personal logo; Nancy Volpe-Beringer was tasked with focusing on the message that her brand is sending; Geoffrey Mac was encouraged to lead with...

“Finale, Part 2” followed last week’s cliffhanger. The finalists spent five months and $10,000 creating 10-look collections to decide the ultimate winner. But they had to show three sample looks from those collections to the judges and receive feedback. It was possible only two or three of the finalists would actually get to present their collections at Fashion Week. So this week’s show answered that question up top. But the more important question remained of who would win.

Victoria Cocieru, Sergio Guadarrama, Geoffrey Mac and Nancy Volpe-Beringer are the final four “Project Runway” designers competing for the season 18 title, but none of them designed the season’s very best look. At least, not according to the fans we’ve polled. Scroll down to see our complete poll results at the bottom of this post, and click above to refresh your memory about all of the judges’ favorite looks.
Out of the 12 design challenges that preceded the New York Fashion Week finale, the best look came out of the very first one: Brittany Allen‘s space-age jumpsuit from the season premiere episode, “Blast Off.” She teamed up with Guadarrama in that episode to make complementary looks for space station hotel getaway, and almost a quarter of respondents (24%) said that sleek outfit was the season’s very best look.

It's just hours before Project Runway crowns a new winner and E! News can exclusively reveal one designer who definitely makes it to the season 18 finale! In the exclusive sneak peek above, judges Elaine Welteroth, Brandon Maxwell and Karlie Kloss, alongside celebrity guest judge Serena Williams, share their critiques of finalist Nancy Volpe-Beringer's inclusive collection after seeing it go down the runway. "I think Nancy really has a dog in the fight," Welteroth admits. "I wouldn't have necessarily bet on her from the very beginning of this competition and I think that speaks to her ability to evolve quickly." "I think that Nancy really stands for something in the industry...

In “Finale, Part 1” on “Project Runway,” host Karlie Kloss introduced a twist: the finalists would present three sample looks from their collections to the judges, who would then decide if two, three or all four of them would actually get to show their collections at Fashion Week after all, or if anyone would be eliminated at the last possible minute. So we asked fans, who deserves to have their dreams crushed at the home stretch?

No one does, according to a plurality of readers who responded to our poll: 41% said “they all deserve to show their full collections” (scroll down to see our complete poll results). I agree with that. At this point all four designers have put five months worth of work into their collections, so it would be a waste of their time and talent to trash all...

“Project Runway” season 18 is almost over, and all that’s left is for the remaining designers to present their final collections at New York Fashion Week. But after the final four presented the judges with samples from their collections in “Finale, Part 1,” has anything changed in our odds? Fans have been placing their bets in our predictions center. Check out their complete forecasts here.
Geoffrey Mac is still the front-runner for the grand prize with leading odds of 47/50 as of this writing. He has been out front since he won his second design challenge in “Live and Let Tie Dye.” The judges had mixed feelings about his preview pieces in last week’s penultimate episode, but all four finalists got mixed reviews to varying degrees, and he has a distinct artistic voice with a futuristic bent that has the potential to wow the panelists if it’s refined well enough.

Going into the first part of the “Project Runway” finale, we asked readers who they thought deserved to win the whole competition, and their choice was clear: Geoffrey Mac was the rightful winner as far as they were concerned. They feel the same way going into this week’s finale, but his lead isn’t quite as commanding as it was before. Scroll down for our complete poll results.

Last week Mac was our readers’ favorite designer with 59% of the vote. This week he’s still backed by more than half of respondents, but down slightly to 52%. Perhaps fans are a little skeptical after the first part of the finale, in which an injury slowed down his progress on his collection and he presented three sample looks that the judges thought lacked fit and sex appeal. But he has some...

All good things come to an end and that includes Season 18 of Bravo’s “Project Runway.” Gold Derby editors Daniel Montgomery and Susan Wloszczyna dissect the events that occurred on “Finale Part 1,” when the last four designers standing — Victoria Cocieru, Sergio Guadarrama, Geoffrey Mac and Nancy Volpe-Beringer — each showed three outfits from their collections to the judges with mixed results.
Daniel, ever the optimist, has a feeling that all four will likely get to take part in New York Fashion Week and show their collections. Susan, far more a realist, believes that Sergio might just be left behind. She just wasn’t into his whole theme about the ice caps melting. “It’s like, just make beautiful clothes and that will do enough to improve the state of the environment.” As for Sergio’s attempt to grow leather in a bathtub in his home by using fermented kombucha, Daniel was...
