Brooke Shields, Terry Crews and Katie Couric are among the high-profile figures added as speakers for the Tribeca Festival’s Tribeca X advertising and marketing section, now expanded into a two-day event running June 10-11 at Convene One Liberty Plaza in Lower Manhattan.
Crews will talk about his philosophy that “everything is entertainment.” Shields will talk about the power of authentic storytelling to shift the conversation around diabetes alongside ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Couric will be joined by Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla for a conversation about the power of storytelling to inspire action and build trust in communities worldwide. Byron Allen will talk about the value of independence in media. Producers Michael Sugar and Daniel Rosenberg will discuss the marketing industry, focusing on Hollywood. And CNN’s Abby Phillip will talk about maternal health with Christy Turlington Burns.

Lucas Partridge might have been hoping to extend his record-breaking* stint as Jeopardy!‘s reigning champion, but alas, his first night back after the onslaught of tournaments ended in a loss for him. Wednesday’s episode of Jeopardy!, which was the first regular show after the Invitational Tournament ended on Tuesday, saw Partridge, a school counselor from Las Vegas, joined by newcomers Daniel Rosenberg, a lawyer from New York, and Lee Wilkins, a regulatory affairs coordinator from Alabama. The first round went well enough for Partridge. He got 12 answers correct, versus five incorrect. and netted $3,600. Festival President Pierre Lescure and General Delegate Thierry Frémaux revealed the line-up at a press conference in Paris, held without journalists this year.

Cannes Film Festival will not take place this year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the official selection has still been unveiled. While no distinct sections were revealed, Thierry Frémaux and Pierre Lescure took the stage of an empty theater to share the 50-plus films that were accepted to screen at the festival. While those Cannes world premieres will not happen in person or digitally, these films will be able to show the prestigious laurels as they head to other festivals this fall and beyond–except Venice Film Festival, who have said they will not be part of their event.
