Ghost Rider is one of the most popular Marvel characters fans have been clamoring to see in the MCU. However, fans have also debated over who should be the actor playing the Spirit of Vengeance on the big screen. While many believe that actor Keanu Reeves is the best fit for the part, another actor makes an equally worthy candidate.
Keanu Reeves has been a fan-favorite to play MCU’s Ghost Rider.
In the past, The Walking Dead-fame actor Norman Reedus publicly voiced his desire to play the role of Ghost Rider in the MCU. Given Reedus’ filmography and public persona, there is an argument to be made for him probably being better suited for the MCU’s version of Ghost Rider. Here is why Norman Reedus might be a better pick for Ghost Rider in the MCU.

Marvel teased a Midnight Suns project during the Sdcc 2021 weekend alongside the two ensemble projects, Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars. It was rumored that Michael Giacchino, the director of the Disney+ special Werewolf by Night, would helm this project. There have been rumblings for several years now that Marvel Studios is developing a Midnight Suns movie revolving around the McU's supernatural heroes.
It may have taken a big step forward recently, however, as scooper @MyTimeToShineH is claiming that Kevin Feige is keen on filmmaker Fede Álvarez taking the helm of the project.
He's no stranger to horror after directing Evil Dead, Don't Breathe, and the upcoming Alien: Romulus. He also wrote Don't Breathe 2 and penned the story for 2022's Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Given the positive buzz surrounding the next Alien movie, this rumour makes a lot of sense.
Interestingly, Werewolf by Night director and regular MCU composer Michael Giacchino is also said to be an option after his impressive work with the Marvel Studios Special Presentation.

Every time a movie buff hears the name of Marvel’s Ghost Rider, perhaps the first name to ring the bell must be Nicolas Cage’s, for he embodied the anti-hero the most immaculately in his own solo movie series on the character. In fact, his performance was so on-point as Johnny Blaze that many would argue that no one could embody him better than Cage.
Ghost Rider in the comics.
But Cage couldn’t have pulled off this incredible feat just like that. If anything, he went to great lengths and did whatever it required to channel his inner Blaze to give fans as remarkable a performance as he did. And these great lengths that he went to have made it more than evident that perhaps no other actor could play the anti-hero better than the 60-year-old legend.

Nicolas Cage has showcased through his extreme performances that he can embody just about any character, be it a hero or a villain, as efficiently and intensely as possible. That said, it’s worth noticing that while his remarkable acting skills have also granted him the golden ticket into two of the biggest franchises in Hollywood, he has only been cast in heroic and anti-heroic roles.
Nicolas Cage in Dream Scenario.
While he has absolutely nailed it as all of those characters, the truth is that Cage actually wants to play one forgotten nemesis of Batman who has only ever been played by the late Vincent Price in the late 1960s: Egghead. What’s more, he wants to play the character in Matt Reeves’ franchise of the Dark Knight, and has let his feelings known to Warner Bros. about the same as well!

Unlike their golden run on the big screen till phase 3, Marvel didn’t quite replicate its huge success on the small screen, with most of the Disney Plus MCU shows earning less-than-stellar reception. While fans have complained about MCU’s recent catalog being bloated following the abundance of TV shows, Marvel has also abandoned an overwhelming number of TV shows over the years.
This involves several renowned superheroes, including a Captain Britain show, which was greenlit long before the rise of Disney Plus and MCU TV shows.

Back in 2016, rumors regarding a Captain Britain show being in the early stages of development emerged. Poster artist Clara McAvoy claimed she was being paid to do a promo poster for it, assuring fans an official announcement might be heading our way in early 2017 or late 2016. Unfortunately, it never happened, leading many to speculate Marvel might have put the kibosh on it.

The Fantastic Four are called Marvel’s First Family because, well, they actually are. Back in 1961, the company formerly known as Timely Comics transitioned into Marvel Comics. They kept some of their titles, such as Journey Into Mystery, but began a new approach to superhero comics with The Fantastic Four. These new titles would show the internal drama between the characters and not just their superheroics. After these characters became a big hit, the company created other heroes such as The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, and Iron Man.
Fox would end up with the movie rights to bring these characters to the big screen but ultimately would produce content that really didn’t live up to what the comics promised. After four attempts (ironic), the rights have finally reverted back to Marvel Studios through Disney’s purchase of Twentieth Century Studios. Now that the MCU is around, fans are interested in...

As the MCU continues to expand, new factions of superheroes have started to form in the cinematic universe, with the recent one being in The Marvels. Per rumors, it seems the Industry giant is looking to incorporate a new team of superheroes into the mix, involving characters with supernatural abilities, but excluding one prominent character.
As per scooper Daniel Richtman, the MCU is looking to pass on Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange for the reported Midnight Sons film, despite the character’s rich history with the faction.

It seems that Marvel ended up axing its own foot after what appears to be a disastrous chain of events. With Iron Man sacrificing his life during the events of Avengers: Endgame, the MCU has never been the same.
Losing fan following by the day and releasing some failed projects (looking at you Secret Invasion), the MCU is now at a not-so-great point. Well, the latest update regarding Avengers: Secret Wars seems to have backfired on Marvel as people called the studio a greedy corporation!
Marvel Studios and the MCU were never the same after Avengers: Endgame Marvel Studios’ Latest Update About Avengers: Secret Wars Backfired Quite Harshly!
Ever since the initial announcement, the world has been excited about the release of Avengers: Secret Wars. Potentially being the end of an era, Marvel Studios would surely like to end on a high note but the recent projects have been not-so-great.

Nicolas Cage, one of the most talented actors of our time is not a stranger to comic book movies. We have seen him having a history with Marvel, first portraying the anti-hero Ghost Rider in two feature films, then voicing Spider-Man Noir in 2018’s animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. However, while talking about his further involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Cage told Variety that he does not need to be in the MCU.
Nicolas Cage in It Could Happen to You
Seems like he will be back. Nicolas Cage is reportedly in talks to star in the live-action Spider-Man Noir show, a live-action Marvel series set against the backdrop of 1930s New York City. At present, there is no plot details have been out about the new Spider-Man Noir show, but getting Nicolas Cage on board will surely give hype to the show.
Suggested“I can just do it in a movie.

“Going to Hell for God is the logical end for the Catholic devil,” declares Matt Murdock in 2023’s Daredevil #12.
Matt Murdock isn’t the only religious superhero in the Marvel Universe. In addition to fellow Catholic Nightcrawler of the X-Men, there’s the Presbyterian Christian Wolfsbane, Muslim Ms. Marvel, pantheist Black Panther, and Jewish characters like Moon Knight and Kitty Pryde. But Daredevil might be the Marvel superhero whose religion plays the most pronounced role in his stories.
Of course, Daredevil isn’t the first Marvel hero to go to Hell and literally fight the Devil, as Ghost Rider, the X-Men, and anyone who had to deal with Mephisto can attest. But when it’s guilty Catholic Matt Murdock donning his Daredevil duds to deal with the Devil, then it’s a really big deal. Although Moon Knight had its detractors, the story of mercenary Marc Spector and his other personalities captured enough of an audience that many Marvel fans are calling for second season. Thus far, no second season has been announced, and recent comments from Disney CEO Bob Iger about focusing on its “strongest franchises” only throw the possibility into further doubt.
But there is one guy who hasn’t lost faith: Oscar Isaac. An Instagram post from Geek House Show features Isaac talking at a panel during Middle East Film and Comic Con. When asked about the future of Moon Knight in the MCU, Isaac described his hopes for the character, revealing not only that he’s game to play the character again but also dropping a surprising season 2 idea in the process. “I thought there was an interesting opportunity with Midnight Sons,” he answers, referring to a long-running Marvel Comics team that usually fights supernatural threats.

A couple months ago, we heard a rumor that a team of supernatural characters known as the Midnight Sons might be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe… and now Oscar Isaac has let it be known that if a Midnight Sons project were to happen, he wants his MCU character Moon Knight to be part of it!
As I’ve said before, one of my favorite comic book story arcs is the “Rise of the Midnight Sons”, where Doctor Strange oversaw the formation of a team of supernatural heroes – Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, Morbius, the Nightstalkers, and Darkhold characters Vicki Montesi, Louise Hastings, and Sam Buchanan – who were brought together to battle Lilith, the Mother of All Demons, and her evil offspring, the Lilin. Although Iger emphasized the importance of quality over quantity for the MCU, Marvel Studios appears to have numerous projects in confirmed development, along with several others rumored to be in the works. Last year, speculation circulated about a Ghost Rider TV show, with some suggesting Nicholas Cage’s potential involvement. While Ghost Rider has already made an appearance in the MCU in some capacity, recent rumors indicate the possibility of a standalone movie for the character.

As per credible leaker MyTimeToShineHello on social media, Feige reportedly intends to elevate the rumored Ghost Rider TV show into a feature film. Fans are eagerly speculating on the film’s potential R rating and discussing which iteration of the character could feature. Notably, Nicholas Cage stands out as the most recognizable live-action portrayal of Ghost Rider thus far.

Despite Iger’s recent comments on how MCU should focus on quality over quantity Marvel Studios has plenty of projects confirmed to be in development but also plenty of other projects that are only rumored to be in development. Last year there were plenty of rumors going around mentioning the Ghost Rider TV show, some rumors stating that Nicholas Cage might be playing him.
We already have Ghost Rider in the MCU, sort of, but if the most recent rumors are true, Ghost Rider might get his standalone movie.

Ryan Gosling Stuns The Social Media As Ghost Rider In This Fan Art(Photo Credit –Instagram/Marvel)
Rumors about Ryan Gosling joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, aka MCU, took over the news a few days back, and now a picture of him as the Ghost Rider has gone viral. The actor has always impressed his fans with his impeccable charm in every role he has appeared in. No one thought he could pull off the Mattel doll character Ken to Margot Robbie’s Barbie, but he did it with conviction and became a huge success.
Ryan allegedly once expressed his wish to be a part of the MCU and play the role of Ghost Rider. The actor rose to fame with his role in The Notebook, based on the romance novel by Nicholas Sparks. He has done many notable films in his career, and we did a list of his top five movies,...

A return to the Marvel Universe doesn't appear to be on the horizon for one major player from ABC's Agents of Shield.
Although Agents of Shield was the first serialized TV show in the Marvel universe after the McU's inception, its place in the canon has been a question mark for years after certain storylines seemingly diverted from the main MCU timeline.
And with the show utilizing major Marvel characters such as Ghost Rider over the years, many are curious whether any of this series' characters will ever officially cross over into the Marvel Studios-produced stories.

Hollywood’s vaccine mandates are gone, but as new legal actions filed today against SAG-AFTRA make clear, the battle over the Covid-19 protection is far from over.
Over 100 individual suits placed in the LA Superior Court docket Thursday claim the Guild threw members under corporate buses during the height of the pandemic, essentially linking arms with the studios to require vaccinations to work.
“While Defendants are Plaintiff’s Union representatives, SAG-AFTRA members had a right to expect that its Union would protect them, negotiate with the studios, producers and other hiring officials on their behalf to prevent prejudicial treatment for exerting their philosophical, religious, medical or disability-based reason for not taking the Covid-19 vaccine,” says stuntman and Guild member Dorian Kingi in his jury trial seeking filing today (read it here).
Kingi’s action is one of 103 complaints filed by the firm of Gerald Fox Law this week.

Echo will launch a new chapter for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Disney+ series, starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, will be the first one under Marvel’s Spotlight banner, which is rooted in Marvel Comics’ decades-long publishing history. In the comics, Spotlight was an anthology series introduced in 1971 that served as the origin of characters like Ghost Rider and Spider-Woman.
“Marvel Spotlight gives us a platform to bring more grounded, character-driven stories to the screen, and in the case of Echo, focusing on street-level stakes over larger MCU continuity,” Brad Winderbaum, the studio’s head of streaming, television and animation, shared on Marvel.com.
He continued, “Just like comics fans didn’t need to read Avengers or Fantastic Four to enjoy a Ghost Rider Spotlight comic, our audience doesn’t need to have seen other Marvel series to understand what’s happening in Maya’s story.”

Marvel Studios is launching a new banner titled “Marvel Spotlight” to accompany the Disney+ premiere of Echo. The purpose of the new label is to let viewers know they don’t need a comprehensive knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to experience specific content. Part of the problem Marvel faces today is viewers feeling like they need to watch several movies and television shows to understand new content. While there are plenty of Easter eggs for MCU diehards, Marvel wants casual audiences to enjoy the universe, too.
Marvel’s head of streaming, Brad Winderbaum, recently told Marvel.com that Marvel Spotlight “gives us a platform to bring more grounded, character-driven stories to the screen, and in the case of ‘Echo,’ focusing on street-level stakes over larger MCU continuity. Decades before Marvel Studios brought Werewolf by Night to the screen on Disney+, comic book creator Roy Thomas was dreaming up his own horror-centric special presentation.

Amazon MGM Studios have landed rights to Benjamin Percy’s novella “American Criminal,” with Gavin O’Connor negotiating to direct.
The film, which Hidden Pictures and NeoText will produce, follows a professional thief who, after being apprehended by an FBI agent, is coaxed into infiltrating a violent Midwestern gang with the goal of dismantling them from the inside. However, what the FBI agent doesn’t know is that the thief is also orchestrating the largest – and last – heist of his life.
O’Connor has directed a number of popular and critically acclaimed works, including “Warrior” with Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy, “The Accountant” with Ben Affleck, “Miracle” with Kurt Russell, and “Tumbleweeds,” which featured an Oscar-nominated turn from Janet McTeer. He most recently retimed with Affleck on 2020’s “The Way Back,” the story of an alcoholic basketball coach.

Some fans might say that the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t feel the same and that the franchise has lost its touch since the conclusion of the Infinity Saga. Still, even though only one MCU movie managed to earn more than a billion dollars since the Multiverse Saga kicked off in 2021, there’s no denying that the MCU still holds many interesting things, to say the least, in its store for the future.
After the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, the Marvel Cinematic Universe needed to find a new central storyline. For a good amount of Phase 4, it seemed like the franchise was going nowhere. And then, at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige officially announced two new ‘Avengers’ movies, ‘The Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Secret Wars,’ confirming that the ongoing Multiverse Saga leads to the next two-part crossover event, which is set to feature Kang the Conqueror as the next ultimate villain.

Since Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield made their glorifying return as Spider-Men in 2021’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ we sort of entered an era in which many superhero movies want to build up hype with special, long-awaited returns of beloved actors in their superhero roles. DC’s attempt at that with Michael Keaton’s Batman wasn’t so successful, but Marvel’s upcoming ‘Deadpool 3’ is followed by a huge hype thanks to the announced return of Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine.
Basically, any long-awaited return is possible now. We honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we see Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man or Chris Evans as Captain America again, no matter how definitive their exit after ‘Avengers: Endgame’ may have looked. Superhero movies are always trying to raise the bar with anticipation, and we have no doubt that this is just the beginning. ‘Deadpool 3’ will be a...

By 1998, it was a certainty that the studios had all but given up on superhero movies. After the financial flops that were Steel and Spawn, along with the sheer critical universal panning of Batman & Robin, the prospects for future superhero movies seemed dim. In the nineties it was very difficult for even a Batman movie to get off the ground, with properties like Superman, Iron Man, and Spider-Man stuck in a decade long development purgatory at their respective studios.
But in 1998, New Line Cinema took a shot on what was considered a somewhat “C” level superhero in the form of Blade. Within the Marvel Universe there exists a horror sub-universe where characters like Mephisto, Ghost Rider, Morbius, and Man-Thing roam, and Blade was considered one of their greatest foils and adversaries. Created by Gene Colan and Marv Wolfman, Blade was introduced in 1973 in “The Tomb of Dracula” #10. He was one...

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse isn’t the only movie bringing punk rock vibes to theaters this year. Lionsgate debuted a new poster for Expend4bles, the fourth chapter of the Expendables franchise that makes you want to throw up your horns and bang your head. The Expend4bles poster features a neon skull with a mohawk made of weapons!
