Disney has just announced the dates for the 2024 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Interestingly, they are moving the start date to the end of August, which means that there will not be a festival this summer at Epcot, as the Flower and Garden festival is set to end on May 27, 2024.
The announced dates for Food & Wine are August 29 through November 23, 2024. Last year, the popular event ran from July 27 to November 18, and in 2022, it ran from July 14 to November 19.
The time shift is definitely interesting. Disney is clearly doing this for a reason. It could free up the summer for something else, push people to other parks for “new” attractions coming, or even drive bookings toward the fall.
Of course, guests will have a wide variety of outdoor kitchens to try festival offerings this year. The Eat To The Beat Concert Series will also be returning. Emile’s Fromage Montage cheese stroll,...

If you are in any way interested in the Walt Disney theme parks, then you probably have heard the name Figment before. This little purple dragon is a staple over at the Epcot park at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and he's got quite the popular and committed fanbase. Now, he's taking his magic of imagination to the big screen.
Deadline exclusively reported that a movie based around the character of Figment is in the works by writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit. The duo helped bring "Pokémon Detective Pikachu" to life back in 2019, so they have some pretty well-tested experience in taking a beloved character and giving them a new lease on life. They are expected to work with Disney and Seth Rogen's production banner Point Grey on the project, although no other details have been announced.
Disney has not yet provided comment on the project, nor have Hernandez or Samit.

Figment, the tiny purple dragon that served as the mascot to Epcot’s Imagination Pavilion and the star of the pavilion’s marquee attraction is finally getting his own movie, from producers Point Grey and writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, TheWrap has confirmed.
If you are unfamiliar with Figment, he’s a tiny dragon who guides guests through the endless world of imagination, voiced initially by Billy Barty and later by Dave Goelz. The original attraction that featured Figment, Journey into Imagination, had a unique layout and ride system, combining the patented Disney Omnimover ride system with several large show scenes that revolved along with the ride vehicle. The creation of another character, the Dream Finder, Figment was a rascal and scamp and illuminated the possibilities of imagination through inventive show scenes. Created by a dedicated team of Imagineers that included Tony Baxter and Steve Kirk, it was largely...

Exclusive: A Disney film is in the works featuring the character Figment, a small purple dragon who serves as the mascot of Epcot’s Imagination Pavilion in Orlando. The feature hails from Seth Rogen’s Point Grey with Pokémon Detective Pikachu‘s Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit set to write, Deadline has learned.
Figment was created by Walt Disney Imagineers Tony Baxter and Steve Kirk, among other collaborators, in 1983, the same year it made its debut in the Epcot ride Journey Into Imagination. Figment is the embodiment of the imagining process— a figment of your imagination.
Although one of Disney’s more obscure characters, Figment has a devoted fanbase that has ensured his role at the park is never diminished. Various attempts to remove the ride or decrease his presence have been met with loud protests.
Today, he is the star of the latest version of the ride Journey Into Imagination with Figment.
