Andrew Gormley(I)
- Writer
- Actor
- Art Department
Born outside of Boston, Andrew Gormley, aka AJ attended the Rhode
Island School of Design, in order to study illustration and animation.
While there, he met and began collaborating with Seth Macfarlane,
creator of Family Guy. The two performed stand up comedy together, and
collaborated on Macfarlane's film projects, including an unreleased
pilot for a new Jetsons, satires of Monty Python material, and Star
Trek episodes filmed badly in video. (Gormley acting as
cinematographer.) Gormley lived in Rome for a year studying art
history, and returned to find his friend creating a cartoon called
"Life with Larry." He contributed material over the telephone for two
years, finishing his degree, and working in Boston as a language tutor,
while Macfarlane developed the show into a pilot. Citing difficulty
selling a pilot with two writers, Gormley was happy to exchange his
credit for a spot on the show if it ever got on the Air. About a year
later, Fox had signed Gormley as a staff writer on Family Guy.
Gormley is now writing a feature for computer animation, and has co-written on the comic book "893".
