Kristen Bell gets some help from Et.
Et is joining forces with Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell and her husband Parenthood actor Dax Shepard in their fight against paparazzi taking pictures of celebrities' children without consent. Et has agreed to not air these photos or videos.
Since the birth of their daughter, Bell and Shepard have been vocal on this topic and decline interviews with media outlets known to purchase images from the paparazzi. Both actors have passionately campaigned, especially through their personal social media platforms, to motivate others and bring more attention to this cause. Media outlets using images celebrities post on their own social media platforms or of children attending red carpets and media events are not the issue.
By joining forces, Et and the couple hope that additional press outlets will follow their lead. Et's sister show, The Insider independently adapted the “no kids” policy after meeting with Bell.

"Entertainment Tonight" will lose its long-time anchor Mary Hart at the end of next season.
Hart announced Thursday (Aug. 5) that the 2010-11 season, the show's 30th, will be her last. She's been with the syndicated showbiz-news show almost from the beginning: She joined "Et" in 1982, a year after it launched.
"I've had the privilege of spending 29 years doing something I love -- how often does that happen?" Hart says in a statement. "I only meant to be at 'Et' for three years, suddenly it's almost 30! I've reached a point when I clearly realize it's time for a change. There are many things I want to do in my life, and I'd better get on with them. It will certainly be with mixed sentiments that I say goodbye at the end of the season, but it will definitely be with a sense of celebration."
For now, it will be business as usual on "Et,...

NEW YORK -- Microsoft officially launched its Silverlight video player on Wednesday with a host of partners already in place, including CBS, which will use the technology on a site dedicated to its Emmy Awards broadcast on Sept. 16.
The free downloadable plug-in, which can present videos in high definition on a computer screen, was first announced in April at the National Association of Broadcasters conference. Since then, Microsoft has had several trial runs and previews as it has prepared to fully launch the new video format, which is compatible with Macs and PCs.
In connection with the Emmys, Silverlight will be used on a micro-site hosted on "ET"'s Web site starting Wednesday. Users will be able to watch interviews, red carpet coverage, make video mash-ups and stream the "ET" after-party.
"The technology is incredible", said Linda Bell Blue, executive producer of "ET." "We're always looking for ways to move our content forward."
ET will be using Silverlight in the coming months for more micro-sites including one for holiday movies, its year-end review and other award shows.
