The general public isn't always the best at accepting the reality that child stars and teen idols eventually do grow up, struggling to see them as anything but their most memorable role during adolescence. But a trend has emerged in recent years, where the stars of massive teen franchises are getting the chance to grow. People have stopped making "Twilight" jokes about the Academy Award-nominated Kristen Stewart and "The Batman" star Robert Pattinson, while Zac Efron's turn in "The Iron Claw" had people campaigning on his behalf for an Oscar. Elsewhere, Jennifer Lawrence completed "The Hunger Games" and became the second-youngest person to ever win the Oscar for Best Actress, with all three main stars of the "Harry Potter" franchise having gone on to great success in other roles.
There's still plenty of room for growth (like folks who discredited Charles Melton in "May December" because his breakthrough role...

In the 1995 movie "Waterworld," Kevin Costner was the draw in more ways than one. To much of the audience, he was still the glamorous movie star who had managed to pull off a blockbuster "Robin Hood" movie despite his inability to successfully nail an English accent. To others, he seemed like he might be a potential trainwreck on the verge of derailment. "Waterworld" had fallen victim to many behind-the-scenes tales of sinking sets, director fights, and Costner rewriting the script to make himself look better. Ultimately, for one reason or another, enough people were curious about the film that it turned a profit. However difficult he may have been behind the scenes, the star turned out to still have it.
Within the movie, however, the person everyone wants to see is Enola, a nine year-old girl whose back tattoo features an encoded map to the last bit of dry land on a post-climate change world.

A third 'Enola Holmes' film is in development at Netflix. The streamer's movie chief Scott Stuber has explained that another movie featuring their "homegrown star" Millie Bobby Brown as the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes is in the works.Speaking to Collider, Stuber said: "You know, she's such a great homegrown star for us. I mean, obviously, 'Stranger Things' is huge for us in that, and watching her grow as an actress."We have a film called 'Damsel' with her in the spring, which I'm really excited about, (from) Juan Carlos Fresnadillo."He continued: "Then, getting that character right. The Holmes IP is weirdly elastic. Obviously, Warner Bros. did an incredible job with Downey and Jude Law, so this idea that we can extend that IP with her is exciting. So, we're working on a screenplay to try to get that. But yes, aspiration. I'd like to do another one.

As of now, I think my love for Guillermo Del Toro as a filmmaker is well established. I adore the man and his work. He plays in my favorite sandboxes, with monsters, vampires, kaiju, giant robots, and in the gothic world whenever he feels like it. The man is after my heart with every single movie he makes. In 2015, he went ahead and asked himself, what does this girl love that she hasn’t gotten a whole lot of lately? And he answered with a gothic love story with ghosts in a Hammer-esque setting in a mansion with walls that bleed and memories imbedded in its construction. Enola Holmes has returned to screens, and Mycroft‘s absence in the second installment raises eyebrows. This eagerly anticipated film intertwines Enola’s career with a case that also captures Sherlock’s attention. Given the politically charged nature of the case, it is natural to expect Mycroft’s involvement. His absence leaves fans pondering the reasons behind his non-return. Even more, they wonder whether he’ll be back on screens in Enola Holmes 3. Brilliantly portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill as Enola and Sherlock, Enola Holmes 2 skyrocketed to Netflix’s top 10 charts. Sherlock and Mycroft are old news — the new star of the Holmes family is their forgotten teenage sister. Based on the Nancy Springer young adult book series, "Enola Holmes" features Millie Bobby Brown as both star and producer, putting her charisma on full display as the super smart, norm-shattering, corset-loathing detective who's taking Victorian London by storm. And while she is the undeniable star of this franchise, she must occasionally share the spotlight with her famous older brother, Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) — an addition that makes Enola's adventures extra exciting.
This is Sherlock Holmes as we've never seen him before: navigating the endless struggle of being a middle child, with his little sister always on the verge of outsmarting him.
Together, Enola and Sherlock are this franchise's most exciting duo. Once you're done swooning over her every interaction with the fanciful Lord Tewkesbury then prepare for the utter chaos...

Before donning Superman’s cape once more, Henry Cavill reprised a different, but also well-known role with quite the fandom — Sherlock Holmes.
In Netflix’s “Enola Holmes 2,” Cavill portrays Sherlock, but as seen through the lens of his younger sister Enola (Millie Bobby Brown), who stars in the sequel. Which means that despite that post-credits scene, a Henry Cavill Sherlock movie isn’t likely in the cards.
Director Harry Bradbeer discussed how the post-credits introduction of Watson presents a foil for Sherlock, though Enola foils her brother in her own way as well. While Enola finds love with Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) after solving her case, the theme of Sherlock’s loneliness remains, and she worries for her brother.

Actress Millie Bobby Brown did not shy away from answering whether her “Stranger Things” co-star Finn Wolfhard is a lousy kisser while under a lie detector.
The “Enola Holmes 2” heroine sat down with Vanity Fair to take their lie-detector test, and midway through her questioner brought up the subject of kissing Wolfhard.
“You exclaimed ‘kissing sucks’ after your first kiss with Finn Wolfhard,” Millie’s inquisitor began around five minutes into the segment. “Is Finn just a lousy kisser?”
“He is,” Brown answered, pretty straight-faced.
The technician confirmed that she told the truth.
“So he hasn’t gotten better,” the questioner prompted matter-of-factly, to which Brown responded, “Not with me. No.”

Henry Cavill may not be the titular character in the "Enola Holmes" film series, but he is quickly becoming a fan-favorite version of Sherlock Holmes. The sequel just arrived on Netflix, and Cavil has a much bigger role this time around. We've seen a plethora of actors take on the iconic character, however, Cavill has been able to bring his own sensibilities to the long-tenured role. While playing second fiddle to Enola (Millie Bobby Brown), Cavill gets to spread his wings as an actor and deliver a fast-paced performance that is equally challenging as it is fun.
Though Cavill is pretty exceptional as Sherlock Holmes, it's pretty out-there casting if you take into account his filmography. For whatever reason, it was assumed long ago that Cavill could only play a rugged, uber-macho character. I mean, he's great at it. "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and "Mission: Impossible - Fallout...

Henry Cavill Got Some Lighthearted Revenge On Millie Bobby Brown Behind The Scenes Of Enola Holmes 2
Based on the book series by Nancy Springer, the "Enola Holmes" movies follow the adventures of the less-discussed but equally brilliant teenage sister of Sherlock Holmes. While her more famous brother comfortably makes a living solving mysteries for hire, Enola -- lovably brash and forthright -- is still gaining traction in the world of private investigations. No one takes her seriously in Victorian London, sadly, by mere dint of her being a young woman. Harry Bardbeer's "Enola Holmes 2" was released on Netflix on November 4, and it concerns a mystery that is directly linked to the real-life Matchgirl's Strike of 1888. Millie Bobby Brown plays Enola with a great deal of modern verve, and Henry Cavill, in a supporting role, plays the relatively stoic Sherlock.
The relationship between Enola and Sherlock contains a great deal of affectional sibling ribbing, undergirded by a streak of genuine resentment. Like many siblings, they love each other,...

“Enola Holmes 2,” starring “Stranger Things” breakout Millie Bobby Brown, has successfully cracked the code to climb to the top of Netflix’s weekly ratings for Oct. 31 through Nov. 6. And it had just three days to do so, while many of its competitors had the full seven.
The sequel to the 2020 mystery film counted 65.08 million hours viewed in its debut week on Netflix, rising to the top 10 in 93 countries.
Brown reprises the titular role of Enola Holmes, younger sister to the world-famous detective Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill). Hot on a new case, Enola’s mystery eventually intertwines with a case Sherlock is working on, so the siblings team up to pull at all the loose threads together, watching their case unravel before them.
And it appears that in the lead-up to watching the sequel, many viewers refreshed their memory by watching the original film, as it received 9.64 million viewing hours on its own.

“It appears the game has found its feet again.” Enola Holmes’ riff on one of her brother’s most famous catchphrases is a succinct metaphor for Netflix’s reimagining of the Sherlock Holmes mythos. The first official case for young Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) starts with a missing girl: factory worker named Sarah Chapman (Hannah Dodd). But as Enola tugs at all the loose threads, she discovers mounting evidence—a missing page from the factory books, a suspicious surge of typhus, a scandalous romance—that draws the attention of the factory’s owners, Scotland Yard, and even her brother Sherlock (Henry Cavill). It all culminates in Sarah, her sister Bessie (Serrana Su-Ling Bliss), and the other factory girls going on strike—a real-life event which grounded the movie’s events in a sense of historical context.

Review: When Enola Holmes debuted in 2020, it represented one of the better Netflix feature films. Quality production values, a solid screenplay, and some pretty impressive action sequences made the film more than a teen-centric mystery and more of a worthy showcase for Millie Bobby Brown in a franchise all her own. With the credit sequence all but guaranteeing a sequel, Enola Holmes 2 arrives and exceeds the original film in virtually every way. With a bigger and more intricate plot, bigger stakes, and potential for countless more sequels, Enola Holmes 2 is one of the best Netflix original films and a rip-roaring good time that could have been a big screen hit.

Onscreen, Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill play siblings in Netflix's "Enola Holmes" films, but offscreen the duo have formed a special friendship - one that comes with certain "terms and conditions," according to the "Stranger Things" star. In a recent interview with Deadline, the 18-year-old actor shared how her friendship with Cavill differs from her relationships with her "Stranger Things" costars and revealed the one topic the Sherlock Holmes actor has declared off limits.
"With Henry, it feels like a real adult relationship," Brown explained. "Like a really good friendship, a really healthy one. One that we have terms and conditions."
In contrast, her friendships with "Stranger Things" costars like Noah Schnapp and Charlie Heaton have fewer boundaries due to the cast growing up with one another. "It's different because I grew up with Noah and Charlie. I met them when I was 10. So, for me, it does feel like your schoolmates,...

The biggest revelation in Enola Holmes 2 isn’t just all about the post-credits scene connecting the old-school Holmes canon to Nancy Springer’s books. Yes, there is a surprising cameo at the end, one which will make all sorts of Sherlockian fans happy. But before that happens, in the movie’s big denouement, we get another very famous Sherlock Holmes character. But this time, this specific person is disguised as another character entirely.
The Enola Holmes 2 Easter Egg That Changes Everything
For most of the second Enola Holmes film, both Sherlock and Enola (Henry Cavill and Millie Bobby Brown) are battling a mystery of corruption. Enola is concerned with the very real event of the Matchgirls’ Strike of 1888 while Sherlock is after a money laundering scheme orchestrated by a mysterious villain named “Moriarty.” As we learn midway through the film, these two events are linked.

Warning: "Enola Holmes 2" spoilers ahead.
As much as Netflix Originals can be hit-or-miss, the company might've struck gold when they decided to adapt "Enola Holmes." A spunky, resourceful young woman, a fun mystery with lots of twists, a wholesome romantic subplot that doesn't actually end with a relationship because the teenage girl doesn't need a boyfriend to be complete — what more could you want in a feel-good movie? Sure, "Enola Holmes" might be a touch indulgent, but that's what makes it fun.
One of the most wholesome parts of the first movie might be the interactions between Enola (Millie Bobby Brown) and her mother, Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter). Eudoria isn't around too frequently, but somehow, she's always able to lend a few words of motherly wisdom right when the going gets tough. That's why I was personally so relieved when I first heard that Bonham Carter would be returning for "Enola Holmes 2" — but unfortunately,...

In both the original stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the Enola Holmes novels by Nancy Springer, Sherlock Holmes has a best friend. And, in most adaptations of Sherlock Holmes—whether it’s Lucy Lui, Martin Freeman, or Jude Law—Dr. Watson is usually close at hand. However in both Millie Bobby Brown Netlix adventures, Enola Holmes (2020) and Enola Holmes 2 (2022), the most famous detective of all time, Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) lacks his famous partner-in-crime-fighting.
Until now.
Enola Holmes 2 Post-Credits Scene Explained
Although Dr. John Watson plays a role in Nancy Springer’s Enola Holmes books, Watson has been conspicuously absent from both film versions… at least until the credits start rolling on Enola Holmes 2. After declining to start a joint detective agency called “Holmes and Holmes,” Enola promises her brother she’ll meet him at Baker Street at a later date.

As if the ending of “Enola Holmes 2” isn’t complicated enough, the film’s post-credits scene sets up an entirely new wrinkle to the franchise — albeit an exciting one.
For context, Sherlock battles a sense of loneliness throughout the film, and Enola recognizes this. He even at one point advises her to avoid going down the same path at all costs. After Tewksbury confesses his love for Enola and she reciprocates, this doesn’t look like this will happen for Enola.
“I really love Sherlock’s loneliness, which I think is not just because he’s from a dysfunctional family and he lives alone, but also because mentally he lives in another framework another level from everyone else. He can’t do small talk,” said director Harry Bradbeer in a recent interview with TheWrap.

Warning: Spoilers for "Enola Holmes 2" ahead.
It's happened, y'all. The spunky little detective better known as Enola Holmes is finally back. But unlike the fictional cases that turned Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes into a wildly successful character, "Enola Holmes 2" sees his younger sister Enola get caught up in real-life events — namely, the matchgirls' strike of 1888, which was organized by employees of the Bryant & May match factory.
"Enola Holmes 2" doesn't try to hide the fact that it borrowed heavily from reality. An opening title card tells viewers that "the important parts" of the movie are true, while another at the closing acknowledges the strike and its effects. However, the Enola Holmes series is far from somber. Long story short, it's safe to assume that screenwriter Jack Thorne took some creative liberties when adapting the strike for the big- (medium- ?) screen, which poses a big question:...

Tis she! Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown), the whip-smart, socially awkward, fisticuffs-brandishing, disguise-swapping girl detective that Netflix introduced in a charming if overstuffed origin story in 2020. But with all the credit for solving that movie’s mystery going to her more established older brother, Sherlock (Henry Cavill), Enola’s sophomore outing in Enola Holmes 2 serves as something of a second debut: investigating a crime that no one else wants, the disappearance of a factory girl. As she tugs at loose threads, Enola unravels a larger conspiracy involving the upper and lower classes, typhus and the Treasury, and even a familiar nemesis of her brother’s. Despite Sherlock Holmes cautioning her against making the case about herself, it’s Enola’s personal investment—and especially her stumbles along the way—that make this second adventure so compelling.

Netflix’s ad tier will not let users watch a handful of major and popular titles, including originals like “House of Cards” or acquired programming like “New Girl.”
In its announcement of the Basic with Ads plan, which launched for 6.99 earlier on Thursday, the streamer had said that a “limited number” of titles would be unavailable due to licensing restrictions, which it had said it is working to resolve. However, that includes titles including but not limited to “Arrested Development,” “Friday Night Lights,” “Good Girls,” “The Good Place,” “The Last Kingdom,” “The Magicians,” “Peaky Blinders” “Queen of the South” and “The Sinner.” Restricted movies include such titles like “The Imitation Game” and “Skyfall.”

Starring Millie Bobby Brown in the titular role of Enola, the story follows Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister as she tries to shine outside the shadow of her well sought after detective brother. Adapted from Nancy Springer’s book series and directed by Harry Bradbeer, the “Enola Holmes” films also include Henry Cavill as Sherlock, Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria, Susan Wokoma as Edith and — in the first film — Sam Claflin as Mycroft.

The original "Enola Holmes," directed by "Fleabag" helmer Harry Bradbeer and based on Nancy Springer's book series "The Enola Holmes Mysteries," burst onto the scene with surprising aplomb. Following Enola Holmes (an excellent Millie Bobbie Brown), the brilliant and rebelliously independent teen sister of Sherlock (Henry Cavill) and Mycroft (Sam Claflin), the first film sees young Enola working to find Holmes matriarch Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter) and discovering that a bigger mystery is afoot. The freshman mystery adaptation was smartly written and charming with a wonderful performance by star and producer Millie Bobbie Brown. With the groundwork laid for a strong second outing, "Enola Holmes 2" had a number of legs up on its forebear outing alongside relevantly higher stakes.

Millie Bobby Brown's new film "Enola Holmes 2" begins streaming on Netflix later this week. In the film, Brown reprises the titular role, that of the younger sister of the famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill). Based on the book series by Nancy Springer, it's a fun tale of a brilliant young woman who solves crimes. This time around, Enola has started her own detective agency, but unfortunately, she isn't getting anywhere with it. People either want her brother to solve their crimes, or they don't take her seriously as a woman in business. It's the late 19th century, so this is hardly a surprise.
That doesn't deter Enola, though, who takes on the case of a missing young woman working a terrible job in a matchstick factory. In fact, the entire story is based on the Matchgirls Strike of 1888. There are some great twists and turns in...

Millie Bobby Brown has revealed why she’s fearful of returning to Stranger Things after filming Enola Holmes 2.
The 18-year-old British actor recently reprised her role as the young detective Enola who enlists the help of her friends and brother Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) to solve the mystery of a missing girl.
Ahead of the Netflix sequel’s release on 27 October, Brown joined the cast for a Q&a at the movie’s New York City premiere.
When speaking about the Sherlock Holmes spinoff, she compared it to “vlogging on YouTube all day long.”
“It’s like, ‘Come along with me on another journey. I wake up. I go on another case,’ I mean, it’s amazing,” she explained (via Today).
Throughout the movie, Brown’s Enola often breaks the fourth wall speaking directly to the camera about new developments in her case.
However, the actor’s Eleven does no such thing in Stranger Things.

Like his brother Sherlock, no two versions of Mycroft Holmes are exactly the same, though there are certain qualities that tend to carry over from one iteration to the next. Mycroft is typically as good if not better than his sibling at the art of deduction, but uses his skills very differently. With Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock, Stephen Fry's take on Mycroft in Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes" films is a rather eccentric fellow (the kind who strolls around his home naked on a whim). Mark Gatiss, on the other hand, portrays Mycroft as a cold and detached Cabinet official tasked with keeping his borderline sociopathic brother in line on the series "Sherlock."
Likewise, in "Enola Holmes," Mycroft (Sam Claflin) is as tightly-wounded as his mustache is neatly trimmed. He doesn't care at all for his younger sister Enola's (Millie Bobby Brown) independent attitude and insists she...

In Enola Holmes 2, a new game is afoot! And this time, it’s ripped straight from the history books. Following the theme of female empowerment from the first film in 2020, director Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag), writer Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials) and actress Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) felt it was important to highlight real stories about female oppression and liberation against the backdrop of the real-life matchgirls’ strike of 1888.
“We developed the script together,” Bradbeer tells Deadline. “We wanted to find a way that brought Enola into contact with a whole new world and range of young women and girls. And when we hit on the historical period, the idea of the matchgirls’ strike seemed to be a perfect way of telling a story about sisterhood and union and having the courage to stand up.”

Millie Bobby Brown’s eccentric fourth wall breaks have become such a distinguishable trademark of Harry Bradbeer’s “Enola Holmes” films that in the sequel, the “Stranger Things” star tried to do it in every scene she could.
“Maybe Harry can agree with me on this but I think in every scene we tried doing, we tried breaking the fourth wall and then he edited the ones that landed the most,” Brown told Variety at the New York premiere of “Enola Holmes 2” on Thursday night at the Paris Theater.
Brown went on to say that she took inspiration from Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s fourth wall-breaking techniques in “Fleabag,” the critically acclaimed Amazon Prime series on which Bradbeer also served as a director.
“It’s just like the most perfect way to break the fourth wall with her wit, her humor, her timing,” Bobby Brown said. “It’s so inspirational to me.

Henry Cavill can’t say much about his return as Superman in the Dceu — but he’s feeling the love!
Et’s Rachel Smith spoke with the actor at the “Enola Holmes 2” premiere in New York City on Thursday, where he dished a tiny bit on his recently confirmed return as the Man of Steel.
“Right now I can’t really talk about anything,” Cavill admitted. “What I do want is hope, optimism and joy. Those three things are essential in a character.”
As for his return as another iconic character, Sherlock Holmes, in the “Enola Holmes” sequel, Cavill said he’s glad to be back in the “feel-good” franchise.
“It’s fun,” he said of the series, which stars Millie Bobby Brown as the titular sleuth, Sherlock’s mischievous younger sister. “It feels good to watch the movie, even though there is a very real and important message which is within the story.

The sequel to "Enola Holmes" comes out on Netflix next week, and it's just as delightful as the first one. "Enola Holmes 2" lets us catch up with the younger sister of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill), who is just as brilliant (if not more) than he is. A little older now, Enola ("Stranger Things" actor Millie Bobby Brown who also serves as producer) is opening her own detective agency. Not that anyone is taking her seriously. That is until a young girl comes looking for her missing sister. Enola is on the case again, and the game is afoot.
This time around, though, it's not just a single missing girl. She's connected to something much bigger, and it has roots in the real-life story of Sarah Chapman and the Matchstick Girls Strike of 1888. It was the first major protest by women, for women, as director Harry Bradbeer said in our recent interview.

Millie Bobby Brown had the support of boyfriend Jake Bongiovi at the New York premiere of her latest film "Enola Holmes 2" on Thursday night. The couple - who have been dating since the summer of 2021 - exchanged loving looks and held hands while they posed for photos on the red carpet together. Brown also raved about her beau to Entertainment Tonight, saying, "He's pretty unbelievable."
"Enola Holmes 2" is the sequel to the 2020 film that was based on author Nancy Springer's book collection The Enola Holmes Mysteries, specifically the 2006 debut tome, "The Case of the Missing Marquess." Of the film, Brown told Et, "I think when people, especially when young people, watch the the film, they're like, 'Oh, she's talking to us,' and it feels like you have a relationship with her, you have a friendship with her. And it really feels like you're growing on the journey.

Of course “Enola Holmes 2” opens with a winking epigraph, imploring its audience to approach the sequel with some necessary perspective: “Some of what follows is true. The important parts at least.” Such is the winsome life of Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown), Sherlock Holmes’ kid sister — at least, according to author Nancy Springer’s series of YA novels — and a seasoned detective in her own right. So much of the pleasure of Enola’s perspective is, just that, her perspective, a mostly fresh (and often feminist) twist on the whodunit subgenre that’s enjoying quite a renaissance in recent years.
The film reunites most of the principal cast and crew of director Harry Bradbeer’s 2020 Netflix feature, “Enola Holmes,” and while that franchise-starter was frisky and fun, its followup rehashes the original’s charms (with wishy-washy results), while expanding elements that required no additional attention.
There are happy exceptions:...

There were a number of reasons the employees at the Bryant & May match factory wanted to strike in 1888: They were fined for trivial offenses, berated for small errors and paid abysmally for hours of grueling labor. But above all, their owners were killing them. A change in production methods — switching from red phosphorus to white — increased the company’s profit and poisoned the match factory employees. The women and girls developed phosphorus necrosis, a disease that caused engorged abscesses in the mouth and fatal brain damage.
Enola Holmes, the protagonist of the quick-witted and fanciful eponymous YA book series, doesn’t know all of this when she agrees to a missing person case at the beginning of Netflix’s Enola Holmes 2. Our young detective (played by the exceptional Millie Bobby Brown) is just itching to solve a mystery. Her attempts to start...

"Enola Holmes 2," based on Nancy Springer's young adult novel series, premieres next week on Netflix, and sees the return of Enola (Millie Bobby Brown), who is a little older now, more mature, and ready to start her own detective agency. Of course, that was no easy task for a woman in the time period when this film takes place. Enola takes on the case of a missing girl who has been working at a matchstick factory, where the conditions are terrible, and she quickly discovers there is a lot more going on than meets the eye.
In fact, the story is based on the Matchgirls' Strike of 1888. The working conditions in the Bryant & May factory were devastatingly bad, with low pay and dangerous conditions leading to illness and death.
Joining her in her quest to solve this mystery are her brother, the famous Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill); her mother,...

You know all that recent talk about the resurgence of murder mysteries? Between the newly-christened "Knives Out" franchise by "The Last Jedi" director Rian Johnson (/Film's report out of Chicago International Film Festival offered Ethan Anderton's take on "Glass Onion"), the Saoirse Ronan-starring "See How They Run" (reviewed by /Film's Hoai-Tran Bui here), and more recent entries, it seems pretty clear that Hollywood is finally picking up what audiences are laying down. But let's not forget one of our first and greatest fictional detectives to jumpstart this little subgenre: Sherlock Holmes.
Of the many adaptations of the great private detective over the years, one of the more delightful ones came in the form of Henry Cavill's role in the Netflix film "Enola Holmes." Rendered a supporting player in favor of Millie Bobby Brown's spunky title character, Cavill's take on Sherlock nonetheless helped unearth brand new layers to...
