Where are the Skins cast now? Short answer: absolutely everywhere.
While the show did earn critical acclaim as well as a cult following over the course of its seven series, when this scrappy teen comedy drama launched on E4 in 2007 few could have predicted just how many household names it would spawn.
Among Skins’ impressive alumni are actors who went on to win Oscars and Baftas, play lead roles in hit movies like Slumdog Millionaire and Get Out, not to mention star in hit shows like Game of Thrones and Peaky Blinders.
Let’s take a look at some of the Skins cast’s best roles:
Joe Dempsie – Game of Thrones
Playing party animal Chris in Skins was in a way good preparation for Joe Dempsie’s later role as Gendry in Game of Thrones, as both characters have some pretty serious daddy issues: Chris’ dad (played by Green Wing...

The Emmy Award winning period TV series "The Great", created, written and executive produced by Tony McNamara, starring 'Russian Royal Court' lovers 'Catherine' (Elle Fanning) and 'Peter' (Nicholas Hoult), has been canceled after 3 seasons of streaming on Hulu:
...Season Three picks up with 'Catherine' and 'Peter' attempting to make their marriage work after some seemingly insurmountable problems — namely, Peter witnessing his own attempted murder at Catherine's hands, and her imprisoning all of his friends.
"On top of this, Peter is at a loose end playing 'First Husband' to Catherine's reign, so he busies himself with fathering, hunting and salty culinary ventures.
"But they're not enough to keep him contented as visions of his late father (Jason Isaacs), get in his head about his failures as the son of 'Peter the Great'..."

Son of a bitch. What’s the opposite of Huzzah? Deadline reports that Hulu has canceled The Great after three seasons. The series was a satirical black comedy-drama that chronicled the rise of Catherine the Great from outsider to the longest-reigning female ruler in Russia’s history. Equal parts bizarre, touching, and downright hilarious, The Great has been one of my favourite recent series so it’s tough to see it go.

The Great starred Elle Fanning as Catherine and Nicholas Hoult as Emperor Peter III, her depraved and dangerous husband. The third season was released on Hulu in May and, like the previous two, received critical acclaim.

Well, this will go down as one of the most shocking cancellations ever.
Hulu has canceled the Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult comedy The Great after three seasons.
The sad news was first reported by Deadline.
Created, written, and executive produced by Tony McNamara, The Great followed Catherine The Great's story as "an idealistic, romantic young girl, who arrives in Russia for an arranged marriage to the mercurial Emperor Peter," according to the official description.
"Hoping for love and sunshine, she finds instead a dangerous, depraved, backward world that she resolves to change."
"All she has to do is kill her husband, beat the church, baffle the military and get the court onside."
News of the cancellation comes over three months on from the premiere of The Great Season 3, which unspooled all episodes on May 12.

Costume designer Sharon Long won an Emmy Award last year for her work on the Hulu series “The Great.” But it was easy for her to not rest on any laurels heading into the show’s third season due to the story itself.
“We had the advantage in the change was Catherine [Elle Fanning] wasn’t pregnant. So there was already a sort of built-in change there. Which I think is really helpful,” Long, an Emmy nominee this year as well, tells Gold Derby in an exclusive video interview as part of our Meet the Experts: Costume Designers panel. Long and her team gets scripts in a block, two at a time, and the workflow allows her to take the costumes in the moment of the story. This article contains major spoilers for season 3 of "The Great."
Empress Catherine (Elle Fanning) has been through her fair share of grief on the Hulu semi-historical dramedy "The Great," but season 3 sees her trying to endure what might be her most profound heartbreak yet following the accidental and sudden death of her husband Peter (Nicholas Hoult). She's not the only one feeling the loss, however, as his aunt Elizabeth (Belinda Bromilow) and his best friend Grigor (Gwilym Lee) must also contend with the loss of the most important person in their lives. In episode 8, "Peter and the Wolf," news of Peter's death has finally reached the court and Catherine can no longer pretend that he's fine and she simply imagined his death, which means that everyone has to process the loss of the court's biggest, loudest personality.
The episode is split into three parts, with each dedicated to following one of the grieving individuals.

Huzzah! Hulu’s sharp and satirical comedy “The Great” returned with its much anticipated third season on Friday. Some might say it’s great timing for the Tony McNamara-created show, while others might say that’s a terrible joke. But in all seriousness, all 10 episodes are now streaming, arriving on the platform just weeks before the Emmy eligibility window closes, meaning the comedy should be at the forefront of voters’ minds during the first phase of voting.
The new season sees Catherine (Best Comedy Actress nominee Elle Fanning) and Peter (Best Comedy Actor nominee Nicholas Hoult) attempt to make their wildly complicated marriage work after the former tried to murder the latter on top of imprisoning his best pals. But as Catherine’s star continues to rise, Peter won’t be faring quite as well, as he’s forced to face his own failures as Peter the Great’s (Jason Isaacs) son.

Who knew when the year began that a sequel to a 36-year-old movie starring its 60-year-old actor who headlined the original would be the box office champ so far this year? But “Top Gun: Maverick” starring Tom Cruise, which was released Aug. 23 on digital formats while still flying high in theaters is not only the No. 1 film of the year with a staggering haul of 683.4 million domestically and 720 million overseas. This looks very weird. A very short teaser trailer has debuted online for a film titled Journey to China, for short, though it goes by many names. This film is actually Viy 2, a sequel to Viy (from 2014), also known as Forbidden Empire - a fantasy adventure movie set in a cursed Romanian forest. This sequel goes by other titles including: Journey to China: The Mystery of Iron Mask, The Mystery of Dragon Seal: The Journey to China, or just simply Viy-2. The plot involves English traveler/cartographer Jonathan Green journeying to China and falling into a fantastical adventure. The film's peculiar cast features Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, Rutger Hauer, Charles Dance, Jason Flemyng, Yuri Kolokolnikov. Schwarzenegger is playing James Hook, but I don't even know what's going on. Maybe the full-length trailer will reveal more. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan will star alongside Rutger Hauer in an upcoming Russian-Chinese fantasy adventure movie called Viy-2. Schwarzenegger and Chan almost appeared together in The Expendables 2 and 3, but Chan ended up passing on the role. I guess it was only a matter of time before they teamed up for a film.
The film is a sequel to the 2014 film based on a horror novella by the Russian writer Nikolai Gogol. Apparently it was a box office hit in Russia. I've never seen it, but it stars Jason Flemyng of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and he also stars in the sequel. I included the trailer for the first film for you to check out below, and it looks fun! Seems like a movie that's worth checking out.
The movie centers on English explorer Jonathan Green (Flemyng), who receives an order from Peter the Great to map the Russian Far East.
The film is a sequel to the 2014 film based on a horror novella by the Russian writer Nikolai Gogol. Apparently it was a box office hit in Russia. Molly Bernstein’s “An Art That Nature Makes: The Work of Rosamond Purcell” examines the life and career of photographer Rosamond Purcell, bringing light to a major presence long unrecognized by the art world. A collector of objects that’s curious about human beings’ obsessive need to collect, Purcell is not an easily classifiable artist, but she’s someone who uses material objects as a medium to understand the collective human psyche. The daughter of an eminent Harvard University historian, she grew up in an academic environment where the written word was sacred, but eventually gravitated towards images both emotionally and intellectually challenging. Some of the images in her work include an old, discarded book transformed by the steady work of hungry termites, and a meticulously arranged box of human molars collected by Peter the Great. The documentary features interviews with not only Purcell, but admirers such as author Jonathan Safran Foer,...

The explosives have begun to go off in the “Year of the Crowes” FX’s Justified with just two episodes left. Art Mullen’s (Nick Searcy) been shot and his deputies need to step up while he lies on a hospital bed in critical condition. Raylan Given’s (Timothy Olyphant) struggle with the Crowe family reached the point of no return, as has the partnership between Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) and Wynn Duffy (Jere Burns). Oh and Ava (Joelle Carter) has just asserted herself as an alpha in the prison system and builds her own criminal rep. Five years in, Justified continues to help lead the pack of superb television and as always there are plenty of cogs in motion, and we’ve got Executive Producer/Showrunner Graham Yost on board to talk about this current and next year’s final season, how their writer’s room is unique, and...

Corruption scandals and anti-gay arguments threatened to overshadow Games, but first sporting events run smoothly
Amid the toothpaste terror warnings and the hotel woes, the corruption scandals and the anti-gay controversy, the first sporting events got underway at the Sochi Winter Olympics on Thursday. As snowboarders opened the action on the slopes of the Caucasus mountains high above Sochi, athletes reported excellent conditions and facilities, suggesting that in a sporting sense at least, the Sochi Games could still prove a success.
The Olympics will officially open on Friday evening, in a ceremony at the Fisht Olympic Stadium – a purpose-built, modernist structure on the shores of the Black Sea. President Vladimir Putin will give an address and there will be a lengthy, choreographed ceremony meant to rival Danny Boyle's 2012 effort in London, which will take in Russian historical and literary references.

Google’s going green today to honor a natural woman: Maria Sibylla Merian, a scientific illustrator born April 2, 1647. (She doesn’t look a day older than 360!)
Merian is best known for the illustrated text Metamorphosis insectorum Surinamensium, which she published in 1705 after spending two years in the Dutch colony of Suriname with her daughter Dorothea (and, somewhat scandalously, without a male companion!). The book included illustrations of both insect life cycles and the plants on which they lived, giving many Europeans their first extensive glimpse at the New World’s botanical and entomological features. Her work garnered several important fans,...

St. Petersburg, Russia, the cultural capital of the nation, home to Fyodor Dostoyevsky, the Hermitage Museum and the Kirov Ballet. Recently, this noble list was lengthened however briefly by cultural giants of our own age, names like Hasselhoff and Imbruglia, Bolton and Simple Minds. From July 6 to 8, Peter the Great's wide window on the west played host to the "White Nights of St. Petersburg" music festival, an odd little affair in which 18 contestants from 15 countries compete before a panel of judges headed by ex-x Factor evaluator and one-time singer/dancer,...

When faced with a tone-deaf would-be fanboy film, it's hard not to think about Elizabeth Kubler-Ross.
The woman who popularized the "five stages of dying" was also right on the money in describing all that went through my mind during last night's screening of "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."
First came denial ("No, this is just a subversive B-movie romp!") then anger ("I'm gonna to go Russia and make a dumbass movie about Peter the Great and see how Timur Bekmanbetov feels!") then bargaining ("Please! Someone go get John Wilkes Booth on my ass and put me out of my misery right now!") then depression ("This is my fault for forwarding all those Funny or Die videos") and finally acceptance ("Okay, I guess the fight with Marton Csokas with the stampeding horses was kinda cool.")
With these five stages flushed through my system, I found myself asking one more: just how...

Epa Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov at a charity basketball match in Moscow in September.
Last year I saw Mikhail Prokhorov at a party in New York. The occasion was to celebrate his mega-million media project called Snob. The party was lavish in true Prokhorov style with a high ratio of models per person, foie gras and slabs of raw salmon. In the middle of the night, the host graced the guests with his presence.

With all the Marvel and DC films coming out lately, not to mention the new Superman and Batman films on the horizon, the popularity of superhero movies is at an all time high. Everywhere audience members turn another mainstream actor is gracing the screen in a costume that showcases a massive, ripped physique that mirrors their comic counterpart. Leave it to the studios to ensure that reality will always imitate art.
But with all the muscle and power on the screen, an audience member has to wonder: just how does an actor like Gerard Butler, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, or even Mickey Rourke or Robert Downey Jr. transform themselves into the larger-than-life heroes so many have followed in the pages of best selling comics and graphic novels.
