Pop singer Michael Jackson has issued legal proceedings against Granada Television in a bid to recover unseen footage from the Living With Michael Jackson interview conducted by Martin Bashir, the broadcaster said Tuesday. London solicitors Theodore Goddard, who are repping the star, have applied to the High Court for an injunction banning Granada from exploiting the excess footage, despite a commitment from the broadcaster that it has no plans for the unseen film. The case could be heard in London as early as Friday. Reps for Theodore Goddard did not return calls. Jackson is understood to fear the broadcaster will try to cash in from the additional footage through other commercial spinoffs. Reps for Granada said the company would contest the case vigorously and would refuse the call to hand over the unseen film. But they said also that they have no further plans to use any of the footage.
