Furiosa Spoilers: Find Out If Mad Max Appears, Whether The Final Battle Leads Into Fury Road, & More
George Miller's Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is now in theaters, and we're breaking down the biggest moments from the epic revenge odyssey to reveal if and how the movie ultimately connects to Mad Max: Fury Road.
If you haven't been to see Furiosa yet, beware of major spoilers from this point on.
Playing out over a 15-year span, Furiosa follows the title character as she is taken from her home in the Green Place of Many Mothers and brought to Dementus' camp. Determined to discover the whereabouts of Furiosa's "place of abundance," the ruthless warlord tortures and kills her mother, setting the youngster on a path of inescapable vengeance.
Dementus keeps Furiosa captive, raising her as his protégé of sorts and renaming her "Little D." However, after striking a deal with rival warlord Immortan Joe to take over the running of Gas Town, Dementus agrees to leave Furiosa...

Mad Max is a staple name that comes to mind whenever action movies are discussed, and reasonably so. As director George Miller’s epic dystopian movie series has inspired numerous creators, it has revitalized the landscape of the action genre. In the course of four movies, the series has also introduced some of the most iconic characters in pop fiction, namely the titular protagonist, the cop turned vagabond drifter, Max Rockatansky, and the more intriguing, fierce warrior-survivor protagonist of Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa. Portrayed by an impeccable Charlize Theron, who delivered an unforgettable performance as the rugged survivor, Furiosa was quickly recognized as the definitive female action hero of the last decade.
Even keeping aside the extremely strong response from the audience, there was more than enough of a backstory hinted at for Furiosa as a character in Fury Road and enough curiosity regarding her origin to warrant a solo movie of her own.

It is fair to say that in its later years, George Miller‘s Mad Max franchise truly has become a saga. The term is used now boldly and often in the marketing for Furiosa, a film which marks the 79-year-old filmmaker’s fifth sojourn into the glories and horrors of the Wasteland. Yet what once was a series of standalone adventures in the life of Max Rockatansky and his post-apocalyptic travails has become something altogether grander thanks to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. For it was in this film that Miller introduced viewers to a new and instantly iconic protagonist, the Master of the War Rig and Scourge of the Citadel, Imperator Furiosa (played unforgettably by Charlize Theron).
By the end of the movie, it was Furiosa’s triumph that stuck with viewers as she ascended to the Citadel’s throne of power, promising a new and hopefully fairer matriarchal...

As Amazon leans into content through Prime Video, MGM, Freevee and live sports, the company said that its 2023 content spend totaled $18.9 billion.
Amazon spent $16.6 billion on content in 2022, “approximately $7 billion” of which was spent on “Amazon originals, live sports and licensed third- party video content included with Prime.” The company did not break out that figure for 2023.
2023 was a pivotal year for Prime Video, with the company launching its first Black Friday game with the NFL, and with its Thursday Night Football slate seeing ratings rise. At the same time, 2023 was the first full year that the company owned MGM, giving it a platform for new movies and TV shows.
On the company’s Q4 earnings call Thursday, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said that the company has “increasing conviction that Prime Video can be a large and profitable business on its own.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first TV series got off to a strong start in the United States.
Fubar, the action comedy featuring the Terminator star, led Nielsen’s streaming charts for its premiere week of May 22-28 (the show debuted on May 25). Succession was steady in the week leading up to its series finale, and Prime Video’s big-budget Citadel joined the rankings for the week its season finale dropped.
Fubar amassed 1.53 billion minutes of viewing for the week, which equates about 25.57 million hours — about 29 percent of the worldwide total Netflix reported for the show during that week (Nielsen and Netflix use different methods to calculate viewing time). Netflix has renewed the show for a second season. Swat, which joined the rankings the previous week, more than doubled its viewing time to 1.35 billion minutes across Netflix, Hulu and Paramount+. It was the only other title to crack a billion minutes of viewing.

Daniel Fienberg: It’s hard to tell the story of Spring TV in 2023 without discussing HBO’s Succession and Barry, as well as Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso. Those three shows, two definitely finished and one seemingly coming to an end, represented four of the last six Emmy wins for outstanding drama and comedy series, as well as many nominations for acting, writing and directing. With their shocking deaths, wild deviations in tone and, in the case of Ted Lasso, expanded episode running times, they’ve dominated social media and water cooler conversations since March.
That’s why we’re not going to focus on them here. There’s more to TV than Barry, Succession and Ted Lasso — or at least HBO and Apple hope there is after the upcoming awards season concludes.
Even not counting the holy trinity of the spring, there were buzzy returning shows — Fxx’s Dave!

In the last episode of Citadel, we were made to believe that Nadia is the spy setting things on fire, so to speak. We also learned that Kyle’s wife, Abby Conroy, was actually Anders Silje’s “love”, one who he thought was dead, but Bernard has used her as leverage to keep his brain intact. Let’s find out what happens next in Citadel.
Spoilers Ahead
What Happens In Episode 4?
We are coming to the realization that Mason might’ve caused the big mess he is in currently only for the purpose of “saving” Nadia, but why? We need to return to the time before the Citadel fell. A new mission is at hand, and somebody needs to infiltrate the Silje brothers’ facility so they can find the “Oz Key,” which is essentially a hacking device. The twins plan on using it in Amsterdam, and Citadel must save the day.

A new mission is at hand, and somebody needs to infiltrate the Silje brothers’ facility so they can find the “Oz Key,” which is essentially a hacking device. The twins plan on using it in Amsterdam, and Citadel must save the day.

Previously on “Citadel,” we saw the fall of a mighty global organization that protects the world from crime syndicates, specifically one called Manticore. Citadel was destroyed by Manticore agents, and all Citadel agents were considered dead for 8 years until Bernard, the tech guy and lone survivor (or so he thought), was able to find one of the best agents named Mason. The only thing is, Mason’s memory has been erased, and he’s been living a regular life with a wife and daughter for the past 8 years. With Bernard on his side, Mason is made to do an important task, but the mission fails, and Bernard is shot. Mason manages to get away and finds out that his partner, Nadia, is still alive too. Will the two of them be able to bring the Citadel back to order?

Citadel, the long-in-the-works global spy thriller drama from Amazon Studios and the Russo Brothers’ Agbo, is eyeing the biggest debut for a series on the streamer based on original IP.
“Citadel, the #1 title on Prime! In its series debut, this show attracted one of the largest global audiences in the history of Prime Video – such an incredible performance for new and original IP,” Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke wrote on Instagram.
She would not elaborate but, according to a source close to the production, Citadel, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden, follows only Prime Video’s Lotr: Rings Of Power in launch numbers since its April 28 debut. Rings of Power premiered Sept. 1 with more 25 million viewers in its first day, Amazon said at the time.
According to Citadel‘s show Twitter account, the drama is Prime Video’s number one title in nearly 200 countries and territories. It would not come as a surprise,...

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas continued to fan the flames of romance during an adorable date night on Sunday before the Met Gala.
The “Citadel” actress, 40, and the Jonas Brothers musician, 30, cozied up to each other, hands locked, as they strutted out of the Carlyle Hotel in New York City a day before the larger-than-life annual fundraiser, which pulls out all of the fashion stops in a celebration of glamour and entertainment.

Richard Madden is on a train, and things are not going well. No, this isn’t Bodyguard, but the start of Prime Video’s new action-packed spy drama Citadel, also starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Quantico).
Bodyguard and Game of Thrones vet Madden plays Mason Kane, while Jonas is Nadia Sinh, both of whom are spies for the secret international organization Citadel. They run into each other on a luxury train, where Nadia is in the middle of a mission that she thought was a solo one. As the two banter in different foreign languages, there’s an undercurrent of tension.

If “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” was Amazon’s attempt to supply its streaming service Prime Video with a homegrown version of “Game of Thrones,” the new spy series “Citadel” is its attempt at a “Squid Game,” “Money Heist” or “Love Is Blind”: a show with the global appeal to match the reach of its platform, and a potential franchise that could support international spinoffs. The idea originated not with a writer, director or producer, but with Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke, who approached Agbo, the production company of Anthony and Joe Russo, with a business plan in search of a creative concept.
As with the underwhelming “Rings of Power,” that cart-before-the-horse approach can’t help showing in the final product. Also evident is a reportedly chaotic production that included extensive reshoots, a showrunner switch and a shortened episode order. There are traces of that...

Priyanka Chopra Jonas returns to our screens with one of the most expensive series ever made. In true Russo brothers’ style, Citadel goes from deadly action sequences to giving some comic relief which was reminiscent of their times at Marvel. We have to address the comparisons to Gray Man, and while in many ways the show follows a similar exterior, there’s more to it than meets the eye, and fans might be happy to see something interesting once again. Let’s dive directly into the action and meet the agents of Citadel.

If you’ve never seen a good spy series before, Prime Video has a new offering that might captivate you. It’s called Citadel, and the streamer has spent an unhinged amount of cash on it, with the bill steadily creeping towards $300 million at the time of writing. Make no mistake, it’s a show that got Amazon so hyped, they decided to make it thrice. There’s three seasons of this U.S. one planned, plus three seasons of two international foreign-language versions. It’s Citadels all the way down, baby!
What’s this staggering megaproject even about, you ask? Well, in this English-language version, there was once a unique spy agency called Citadel, reminiscent of the one in the animated Fxx spy series, Archer, but with more healthy global intentions. Its two best agents were a suave man with a strong jawline who favors a tailored suit,...

Sultry restaurateur Nadia (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) and a man she doesn’t seem to know, Kyle (Richard Madden), stand in her Valencia, Spain, eatery’s kitchen. “Tell me you’ve never seen my face before,” he says, explaining that they were once spies and partners for an independent peace-keeping syndicate called the Citadel. Sent to retrieve Nadia after the agency abducts him, Kyle is now convinced — by “tech genius” Bernard (Stanley Tucci) — that he wasn’t always a Wyoming family man. And their chemistry makes it clear: He and Nadia know each other. With that, Citadel, is a lavish action drama that puts the two sexy spies on life-or-death missions, serially bagging sleazy foes. The six-episode first season takes on good and evil, humility and greed, and love’s ability to triumph over guns, ammo and, of course, their amnesia. Citadel’s purpose, showrunner David Weil says, “is to ensure the well-being of all people.

In the run-up to the release of the Amazon Prime Video spy series he produced, "Citadel," filmmaker and armchair Nostradamus Anthony Russo made the preventable mistake of becoming Film Twitter's main character. When asked about the future of AI, Russo predicted that emerging technologies could soon "engineer storytelling" to a viewer's preference and curate a personalized storytelling journey. What "Citadel" poses is perhaps a more immediately insidious possibility — a world where humans writing television have already internalized algorithmic consumption patterns to produce something robotic and mechanical of their own volition.
If you've heard anything about "Citadel" by now, their years-in-the-making spy saga announced before the release of "Avengers: Endgame," it probably has something to do with its troubled production and bloated budget. This tale of a cross-national network of agents devoted to averting major global crises with no fidelity to a single government also represents the first in a series of building blocks.

British ambassador Dahlia Archer (Lesley Manville) is Citadel’s villain, and she’s so very evil that when the U.S. Secretary of State refuses to do what she wants, she promises to kill his family. She’s so very evil that when a reporter asks her on camera if Britain has too much power, she suggests the reporter herself is an enemy combatant who will be punished if she doesn’t change the subject. She’s so very evil that while she watches her goons torture a spy named Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), she eats a large piece of cake.

Imagine for a moment that in the late 2000s, Marvel did not simply announce a movie about Iron Man, but that they would simultaneously go into production on Captain America, Thor, and Avengers films, with even more in immediate development, and that these would be among the most expensive movies ever made. In hindsight, we know this would have worked out well. (Well, maybe not the expense part.) But at the time, no one knew that audiences would be interested in any of these films, let alone that they would...

When the highly anticipated spy series “Citadel” was announced on Prime Video, it had all the ingredients of a successful action thriller. Take a global conspiracy with a war between two mysterious and powerful organizations and add two international stars cast as elite-level spies (who occasionally sleep together), topped with high-octane fight scenes liberally.
But “Citadel” relies so heavily on rapid exposition and quick dialogue that instead of the expected sequence of flavorful courses, we’re being fed the entire meal at once.
The series follows Agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), agents of a secret organization called “Citadel” that’s “bound to no man or government” and fights to keep the peace from the shadows. Unfortunately, the agents get burned on a routine op and lose their memories. The pair fight to remember who they are and who sold them out to Manticore, a...

Spies are everywhere these days on the small screen. The quality varies depending on which series you watch, but we have everything from humorous takes (The Recruit) to political action (The Night Agent) and beyond. Even though there is a remake of Mr. and Mrs. Smith on network television, the lack of a good, big-scale espionage epic has been missing for quite some time. So, why not turn it over to the creator of Prime Video’s Hunters and the co-director of Avengers: Endgame and The Gray Man?

It feels like this has been the year of artificial intelligence. With the rise of ChatGPT, AI-generated art, and more, it’s clear that this technology could have major ramifications for the entertainment industry. While speaking with Collider, Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo spoke about the future of AI and how long it could be before we see it used to generate an entire movie.

It’s been over a decade since I watched Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones and I don’t remember a heck of a lot about it… but what I do remember is the deeply unnerving performance of Stanley Tucci as serial killer George Harvey.
Based on Alice Sebold’s 2002 novel of the same name, The Lovely Bones starred Saoirse Ronan as Susie Salmon, a young girl who is murdered by a serial killer and watches over her family from the “In-Between” as they deal with her death. As great as Stanley Tucci’s performance was, it was a role he tried to get out of playing. “I tried to get out of playing the role, which is crazy because I needed a job,” Tucci explained while speaking with Entertainment Tonight. “But I was like, ‘Why do you want me?’ And [Peter Jackson] said, ‘Because you’re funny.’ And I thought, ‘Ok.
