- Alexander Schirmann was born on February 13, 1876 in Zhytomyr, Ukraine. He was a composer, known for Die Zigeunerbaronin (1917), Die Lieblingsfrau des Maharadscha (1916) and Katharina Karaschkin (1917). He died on December 3, 1942 in Oswiecim, Malopolskie, Poland.
- Alexander Schirmann was no longer able to work in the National Socialist Germany. He was deported to the KZ Auschwitz where he died at the end of 1942.
- His last cinematical work as a composer came in 1930 into being with "Wenn Du noch eine Heimat hast" (1930).
