Pierce Brosnan and Amir El-Masry have signed on to star in the sports drama Giant from AGC Studios about the life of British-Yemeni boxer Prince Naseem “Naz” Hamed and his rags-to-riches ascent to a world championship under the tutelage of his Irish-born boxing trainer Brendan Ingle.
El-Masry will play Naz, and Brosnan is set to portray Ingle. The film will be written and directed by Rowan Athale and produced by Mark Lane of Tea Shop Productions and Kevin Sampson of White Star Productions, it was announced by AGC Chairman and CEO Stuart Ford, who will also produce.
The project is set to begin shooting in Leeds, England in late April. Originally scheduled to shoot all of its interiors in Malta, AGC moved the pic back to the UK to utilize the country’s new Independent Film Tax Credit announced by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt in March.
El-Masry will play Naz, and Brosnan is set to portray Ingle. The film will be written and directed by Rowan Athale and produced by Mark Lane of Tea Shop Productions and Kevin Sampson of White Star Productions, it was announced by AGC Chairman and CEO Stuart Ford, who will also produce.

AGC Studios and Meridian Pictures has sold U.S. and Canada as well as Asia pay TV rights for the Brad Anderson-directed thriller “The Silent Hour,” starring “Suicide Squad’s” Joel Kinnaman, “1917’s” Mark Strong, “New Amsterdam’s” Sandra Mae Frank and “8 Mile’s” Mekhi Phifer, to the newly revitalized Paramount label Republic Pictures.
In the film, Kinnaman plays a Boston police detective who suffers an on-the-job accident that leaves him hearing impaired. Sixteen months later, he and his friend and partner (Strong) must battle Lynch (Phifer) and a team of corrupt cops attempting to eliminate a deaf murder witness (Frank) in the apartment building where she lives.

A four-part documentary series from “Tindler Swindler” producers AGC Television will delve into the world of renowned chef and hotelier Nobu Matsuhisa.
Titled “Nobu,” the series is co-produced with Gianni Nunnari’s Hollywood Gang and Altimeter, and is in pre-production. It will be directed by documentarian Matt Tyrnauer.
Matsuhisa is a pioneering restauranteur and businessman with 47 restaurants and 27 hotels bearing the ‘Nobu’ name. However, his path to success was unlikely and riddled with obstacles, adversity and tragedy. An official description for the series bills it as an “epic journey from Japan to Peru to the United States and many other points around the world that will be uncovered by exclusive access to Nobu, his global empire, and his key collaborators, friends and famous fans.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs will host the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, NBC and MRC announced Friday. The BBMAs will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 15 and will be broadcast at 8 p.m. Et/5 p.m. Pt on NBC, in addition to streaming live on Peacock.
“This will be unlike any awards show – I’m bringing the love and setting the frequency at an all-time high,” said Combs. “The Billboard Music Awards truly represent the artists and where music is today, so I’m excited to curate the biggest live performances and surprises. The world has to tune in to see.”
This year’s show marks 25 years since Combs, an accomplished producer, designer and philanthropist, won his first Bbma in 1997, for his album “No Way Out.” Combs is currently working on his seventh studio album, more than 15 years since his last solo album, “Press Play” debuted at No.

WandaVision writer Chuck Hayward is penning comedy Brothers With No Game based on the popular UK YouTube series for Stuart Ford’s AGC Television.
Hayward, whose other credits include Ted Lasso and Dear White People, will write and showrun the series that is not yet attached to a network about four childhood friends whose social and romantic dilemmas throw them into a “quarter-life crisis.”
With comedy and heart, these twenty-somethings come to terms with the responsibilities and problems that revolve around work, family, friendship and most notably – women.

“Moonfall” co-producer and sales agent AGC Studios is launching the Christopher Smith-directed supernatural thriller “Consecration.”
Stuart Ford’s independent studio will fully finance and co-produce the pic alongside BigScope Films and Moonriver Content. The movie turns on events following the suspicious death of a priest, whose sister goes to the Mount Saviour Convent in Scotland to find out what really happened to her brother. There, she soon uncovers murder, sacrilege and a disturbing truth about her own shadowy past that brings long-buried trauma to the surface.
Smith will co-write the project alongside Laurie Cook (“The Banishing”). Producers include Xavier Marchand (“The Ritual”) of Moonriver Content and Jason Newmark (“Triangle”) and Cook of Bigscope Films. Ford will be executive producing along with AGC’s Linda McDonough and Miguel Palos and Bigscope’s Ed Fraiman and Adam Nagel.
Shooting will begin later this summer in London and Scotland, and active casting is ongoing.
