Obsessed with creating, Zaba has worn a number of hats in the field of creative and commercial arts. As a Market Theatre Laboratory graduate, his journey began in the theatre as a writer, director and performer from where he ventured into advertising and told brand stories as a copywriter for the likes of Amstel Lager, CIROC, Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Lays Deli, Crime Line SA, LG Electronics to name but a few. Finally, he worked his way into television and film where he has written on shows like Isibaya, Nqobile, Ikhaya, Red Ink, Mzali Wami. He is also the creator of the critically acclaimed Abo Mama and has won a SAFTA for a movie written and directed by him called, Okae Molau. As a director, Zaba has made over seven local films and two drama series. Zaba LeRoto Hlatshwayo is the executive creative director of Craft Creative Brew House, a company that merges storytelling in the fields of both TV/Film production as well as advertising and media - writing, directing, and producing content for broadcasters and independent entities alike.
