NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal moonlights as DJ Diesel, and he compares the rush of performing live onstage to playing on the basketball court.
“It’s like being in a basketball game and having people come and cheer you on and support you,” the 50-year-old Inside the NBA analyst told The Hollywood Reporter ahead of his performance at his annual pre-Super Bowl extravaganza, Shaq’s Fun House, which took place Saturday night.
“I just want everybody to have a good time,” he added.
But while the icon has released four rap albums in the past — including the 1993 platinum success Shaq Diesel — he’s not looking to drop more projects.
“No,” he simply said when asked if he would release an album based on his DJing.

The closest thing to sports running on the Freeform cable network since it came under Disney ownership in 2001 might be “Make It Or Break It,” a soapy series about the lives of young gymnasts hoping to get to the Olympics. On Sunday, Freeform will really be taking the field.
Viewers who tune to Freeform looking for “Hunger Games,” “Alice in Wonderland” or one of the movies Freeform typically shows each weekend will at 1 p.m. tomorrow find themselves part of a massive sports play. Freeform will show –of all things — an NFL Wild Card match between the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans. Nickelodeon and Telemundo, two other TV outlets known for things other than sports, will also try football on for size this weekend.
“It’s an experiment. We’ve never done it before,” says Sarah Lindman, senior vice president of content planning and strategy at Freeform, in an interview.

The season finale of Dr. Pepper’s “Fansville” ad campaign hit our screens last night during the National Championship. We had, until now, been kept in suspense over the identity of the bigfoot style character known as Big Fan. If truth be told, some might have found the big reveal a little underwhelming. Dr. Pepper broadcast adverts over the college football season in an episode-like marketing campaign. In this world, the fictional town of Fansville is obsessed with college football, and the town’s sheriff is a former linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks turned actor Brian ‘The Boz’ Bosworth. In today’s film news roundup, Molly Shannon’s “Wild Nights with Emily” and Motke Dapp’s “Other Versions of You” get distribution, Robert Patrick is up for a role as an FBI agent and “Nutcracker” writer Ashleigh Powell signs with CAA.

The film, which had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival, was written and directed by Madeleine Olnek. Greenwich will release the film theatrically early next year.

Kensi's feeling left behind, and it's a weight on the whole team.
New relationships are forming, or solidifying on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 8 Episode 12. Except for Kensi, who's inadvertently ruining hers with Deeks.
Before I cover all the personal drama, let's take a quick look at the case of the week, such as it was.
Sam got to dress up and go undercover at the same private-security firm where this week's victim worked. There was a hint of dirt, but no, a couple of the guys at the firm were helping out a misguided young man and one of them got killed for his troubles.
(Shoutout to Eddie George, the former All-Pro running back, who played one of Sam's security-firm co-workers and who may be the next ex-nfl player to make the transition to acting.)
Sam's contribution was to make an inspirational speech to keep the firm's boss from ruining his and his company's reputation.

When Eddie George was catching touchdown passes and breaking rushing and receiving records for the Tennessee Titans, no one expected that one day he would be singing and dancing his way through musical theater. But that is exactly what the Heisman Trophy winner and four-time NFL Pro Bowler is doing this week, when he stars in “Chicago” at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre as charming lawyer Billy Flynn, opposite Grammy winner Brandy Norwood as Roxie Hart. The 42-year-old former running back (who retired from football in 2004) is reprising the role from his Broadway debut earlier this year, after previously taking on the title roles in.

For many young NFL players, resuming a normal life after football fame can feel like a crushing defeat. So it was for Eddie George, the 1995 Heisman trophy-winning running back who spent eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans before being released from the team in 2004. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition preformered well for ABC for many years. Could American Dream Builders be a ratings success for NBC or will it be cancelled after one season? We shall see.
On American Dream Builders, designers and builders must quickly rennovate homes and avoid elimination by pleasing the judges (Nate Berkus, Eddie George, and Monica Pedersen).
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- usually the next day, around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was a staple on Sunday nights on ABC for nearly a decade. The show's ratings faded over the years and the network decided it was time to end the show. NBC recently unveiled their own home renovation program, American Dream Builders. Is this series a hit or will it be cancelled after one season instead?
On American Dream Builders, two teams of designers and builders from around the country must work together to perform major renovations on a pair of homes. Their work is judged and designers/builders are eliminated from the competition. The judges are Nate Berkus, Eddie George, and Monica Pedersen.
The show debuted on March 23rd to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.6 million total viewers. This was a poor showing right out of the gate and the numbers got worse and worse for the next...

The amiable Nate Berkus returns to home improvement TV with NBC's "American Dream Builders" Sunday, March 23.
This show sets an ambitious goal: Two teams renovate two houses of the same architectural style in the same neighborhood -- in a week. As executive producer, host and one of the judges, Berkus selected the 12 designers, who must work together.
"The decision was made that they would all be professionals and very established in their own communities and local markets," Berkus tells Zap2it. "They weren't fighting to become the next anything.
They already have very successful businesses and clients, and some of them had worked 20 years to build that. And this show is not about discovering new talent. It is about bringing established talent into everyone's home. Every week two homes are renovated from wall studs up and re-created and reimagined. That will give lots of people ideas."
