MrBeast is reportedly ending his exclusive relationship with management company Night.
Two people familiar with the matter told Semafor that “in recent days,” MrBeast–aka Jimmy Donaldson–told Night it will no longer be his primary manager. He will apparently still remain with Night in some capacity, but will shift some aspects of his business to other management companies in the creator industry.
We reached out to Night for comment on the veracity of the report, but haven’t heard back. Night told Semafor it expects to have an ongoing relationship with Donaldson, if not an exclusive one.
Donaldson began working with Night founder/CEO Reed Duchscher in February 2018, and announced his official signing with Night in January 2019. According to Semafor‘s sources, the split is caused by friction stemming from Duchscher’s refusal to move Night operations from its headquarters in Austin to Donaldson’s hometown of Greenville, North Carolina,...

Bad Boys apparently really are for life as it seems that this action-packed franchise isn’t ending anytime soon with Sony Pictures’ Bad Boys 4 set to reach theatres in just a couple months. This series, centered on detectives Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett of the Miami Police Department, has already produced three blockbuster films that have grossed over $840 million as well as a spinoff television show, L.A.’s Finest, making it one of the most successful buddy-cop action-comedy series in history. The most recent film, Bad Boys for Life, was one of the last movies to hit theaters before the pandemic shut them all down and was able to be a critical and box office success – so why would the franchise stop now? Will Smith and Martin Lawrence (Lowery and Burnett) are back for the fourth film, and this is music to the ears of fans of the series since...

Night has broken into podcasting by picking up a network that works with several top creators. The talent management firm known for repping big names like MrBeast has acquired The Roost, the podcasting network that was formerly part of Warner Bros. Discovery‘s Rooster Teeth brand.
The Roost is home to 47 original shows, including Ethan and Hila Klein‘s H3 Podcast and This Past Weekend with Theo Von. Many of the podcast hosts within The Roost’s network, including Philip DeFranco, Ludwig, and Smosh founders Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla, established themselves on platforms like YouTube before launching audio-forward shows. According to a press release from Night, the 47 Roost shows have combined to pull in 350 million views and 20 million monthly audio downloads.
The terms of Night’s acquisition have not been publicly disclosed, but we do know that the transaction will lead to the establishment of a podcast vertical within the Night ecosystem.

Heels has nailed its landing after Starz canceled the series in 2023. Netflix and Lionsgate Worldwide Television Distribution Group have agreed to a licensing agreement for the two seasons of critically-acclaimed drama from Mike O’Malley.
Deadline has learned there is an option for a third season, but that all depends on the availability of stars Stephen Amell, who booked the lead role in the Suits spinoff, and Alexander Ludwig, who’s toplining Earth Abides for MGM+. A spokesman for Lionsgate declined to comment.
Heels revolves around the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small-town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals (Amell and Ludwig) war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, those...

Heels might be headed back to the ring.
The drama, which was unceremoniously canceled along with a couple more series as Starz cleaned house in September, has been licensed to Netflix by Lionsgate Worldwide Television Distribution. With the acquisition, Netflix will have non-exclusive rights to the two-season, 16-episode library of the wrestling drama starring Stephen Amell (Arrow) and Alexander Ludwig (Vikings).
Sources also note that while Netflix has not renewed the series, the streamer could wind up doing so should Heels perform well on the platform. Those same sources also caution that a third season, even in success, could still be a logistical challenge. Amell — a die-hard wrestling fan who often would perform his own stunts on Heels — signed on in February as the lead in NBC’s highly anticipated spinoff of Suits. The offshoot of the former USA Network original is one of but five pilots in the works at NBC.

FromSoftware is without a doubt a trailblazer when it comes to designing excellent soulslike experiences. And it’s not like they have just started with this stuff; they have been doing it since 2009 with games like Demon Souls. All that has led to them making a massive blockbuster like Elden Ring all these years later.
But these kinds of incredible experiences can only be crafted when developers are focused. Not just on making a good game, but also on making sure their vision translates as it is to their games, so fans can get it as it is. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki has obviously made sure his vision remains uncompromised, as his games are usually full of incredibly inventive design choices. Recently, he opened up about how he went about achieving that vision.

When I first saw the title of this, I naturally thought of the song by the same name that became a huge if not ‘Monster Hit’ for Bobby “Boris” Pickett at the height of the fifties and sixties monster craze. The picture takes the theme of sixties creature features and creates a bloody at times gore-filled Anthology of stories to shock, offend and make you go ‘ok’.
The Monster Mash (2022) directed by Kevin Losani and Richard Terrasi succeeds admirably with engaging pulp-like stories whose endings you can see a mile or kilometre off depending on your country. The difference is the work is so lovingly done, with fun, practical effects, at times over-the-top acting that fits and just a little tinge of naughty offence.
The film opens with outstanding titles harkening back to Saturday morning horror cartoons that were never quite frightening. An on-camera host Dr Freudstein (Michael Gentile) and his not-so-able hunchbacked,...

Premium linear channel and streaming service MGM+ announced today a six-episode limited series order for Earth Abides, an adaptation of George R. Stewart’s classic sci-fi novel of the same name. The series will star Alexander Ludwig as “Ish” and begin production in Vancouver on April 8.
Showrunner Todd Komarnicki (Sully) created the series, which comes from MGM+ Studios and executive producers Kearie Peak and Lighthouse Productions’ Michael Phillips and Juliana Maio. Earth Abides is slated to premiere on MGM+ in late 2024.
When a plague of unprecedented virulence sweeps the globe, the human race is all but wiped out. In the aftermath, as the great machine of civilization slowly and inexorably breaks down, only a few shattered survivors remain to struggle against the slide into extinction.

The story follows the aftermath of a global plague and is being adapted by creator and showrunner Todd Komarnicki (Sully), and has signed Alexander Ludwig (Vikings, The Covenant) to star. Previously announced as in development, MGM+ plans six episodes to tell the 1949 book’s tale.

Disney, assailed by activist investors, launched a new website today called VoteDisney with a video featuring Donald Duck’s uncle and other animated creatures telling shareholders what to do to keep the company’s board of directors intact, and showing them how to do it.
“Friends, relatives and estimated chairman, you’re probably all wondering what we’re doing here today,” said Professor Ludwig Von Drake, the 1961 Disney character, leading into a voiceover that insisted, “We need you to all vote for your board … voting is easy.”
“Remember it’s important you vote only for Disney’s 12 nominees using the white proxy card. Do not vote for the Trian group or Blackwell’s nominees. Voting this year is critical no matter how many or how few shares you may own … Please vote all of your shares on all of your accounts.”

It’s a story — the attempted genocide of Europe’s Jews by the Nazis and their willing executioners — that has been told many times before. But, say the creators of the new German TV drama The Interpreter of Silence, it’s a story that needs to be told again and again.
The five-part limited series, which bowed on Hulu in the U.S. and on Disney+ worldwide Nov. 15, is up for this year’s Critics Choice Awards in the best foreign-language TV series category. The period drama will go up against the South Korean series Bargain, The Glory, Mask Girl and Moving, the French crime series Lupin, and the Italian mafia drama The Good Mothers.
Set in Frankfurt in 1963, The Interpreter of Silence follows the events of Eva Bruhns, a 24-year-old German woman, played by Katharina Stark, who gets a job as a Polish-to-German interpreter in the Auschwitz trials, the...

Last night at UCLA’s Royce Hall, nearly 1,000 lucky attendees got to hear the music that defined the cinematic event of 2023, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
Following warm introductions from Cillian Murphy and Nolan, Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson and his partner in life and music, Serena Göransson, produced a live-to-film experience of their Golden Globe-winning and Oscar-shortlisted score for the $955 million-grossing historical epic. The duo were joined by conductor Anthony Parnther, who led the evening’s 55-piece orchestra, featuring many of the same musicians he also conducted during the score’s original studio sessions.
Together with Universal Studios, Syncopy and the event-related services of Black Ink, Fine Line and Encompass, the Göranssons dedicated the entirety of the past two months to Oppenheimer: Live in Concert. They painstakingly rearranged their two-hour and 43-minute score, so that it could be played live in continuous fashion, with the exception of a musician-friendly intermission at the film’s two-hour mark.

Christopher Nolan has told me that composer Ludwig Göransson’s score for the Golden Globe-winning Oppenheimer is “part of the DNA of the project.”
The five-time Oscar-nominated filmmaker explains that music “isn’t something that we hastily add after we’ve shot the film.” It is, rather, an integral part of his movie-making process, “the secret sauce,” he adds.
Göransson and Nolan began discussing the music before the screenplay was completed “so that I can use Ludwig’s music even as I’m shooting,” he explains.
In fact, Göransson notes that he had created something like “two to three hours of music” before Nolan’s cameras rolled.
Ludwig Goransson
“It was hours and hours, and months and months of experimenting, and we started early,” he says. “I was able to write music based solely on conversations Chris and I had, and from reading the script at different stages of its evolution.

David Mitchell leads new BBC crime drama Ludwig, and the first details of the show have landed.
David Mitchell has become a familiar face in UK comedy, whether trying to discern who’s telling the truth in Would I Lie To You? or as the uptight Mark Corrigan alongside long time comedy partner Robert Webb in Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain’s Peep Show.
He also took on the role of William Shakespeare in Ben Elton’s sitcom Upstart Crow, and reprised the role for a stage adaptation that opened in 2020 and then again when the play was restaged in 2022
Just as Alan Davies took a left turn from stand-up comedy to drama in David Renwick’s superb Jonathan Creek, Mitchell is now moving into the realm of crime drama to play the title role in six part BBC series Ludwig.
The synopsis reads as follows:

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!
Match #1: Tommaso Ciampa def. Finn Bálor The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano took out an interfering Damian Priest, Johnny Wrestling grabbed Bálor’s feet as he was suplexing his opponent back into the ring. This helped Ciampa fall onto the Judgment Day Superstar and pick up the three-count. As a result, #DIY moved one step closer to an Undisputed WWE Tag Team Title opportunity.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Kofi Kingston vs. Ludwig Kaiser (Double Count-Out) The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
One week after Giovanni Vinci’s injury, a match between Ludwig Kaiser and Kofi Kingston ended in a double count-out. Although Kingston initiated a post-match brawl, Kaiser struck with a thumb to the eye.

VTubers have shown themselves to be colorful, resilient, and capable of replacing traditional creators. But can they fit their motion-captured bodies through weirdly shaped holes?
That was the question Filian asked during a special Twitch stream that went live on October 24. The VTuber invited five other virtual creators — ShyLily, Camila, Projekt Melody, Trickywi, and LaynaLazar — to a game show set, where the assembled streamers contorted themselves to pass through a series of whimsically-shaped openings.
The show, dubbed VTuber Hole in the Wall, was produced by Strangeloop Studios, a company known for working with musical artists like Blackpink, Sza, and Kendrick Lamar. To bring digital avatars into the real world, Strangeloop passed out suits that allowed VTuber creators to control their respective characters.
The result, according to Strangeloop, is the “first large scale independent motion capture variety game show VTuber event of its kind.”

Each Halloween season, people flip on horror movies, venture into haunted houses, and otherwise dare to expose themselves to various goose-bumps-inducing experiences. And of course, many of us, myself included, love a good horror movie no matter the time of year. But why do we go out of our way to experience fear - exposing our psyches to serial killers, demons, and death in the process? Why would we want to be shocked, terrified, bamboozled, or creeped up on, especially in a world that offers more than enough to be afraid of already?
As it turns out, there are actually plenty of psychological and scientific reasons why many of us enjoy fear and horror. Ahead of Halloween, we're exploring why many of us yearn to get scared out of our minds instead of just popping on a rom-com and calling it a night.

Joni Mitchell Announces The Asylum Years (1972-1975) Archival Box Set, Shares “Help Me” Demo: Stream
Joni Mitchell has announced a new box set called Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 3: The Asylum Years (1972-1975), the latest release in her ongoing archival project. The 5xCD/4xLP package is out October 6th via Rhino, while a demo version of her 1974 song “Help Me” is out now.
The Asylum Years refers to the label that released Mitchell’s early ’70s albums, but it also references the artist’s retreat into British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, a move she made out of frustration with her treatment by the press. Though she temporarily retired from performing live, the move didn’t hinder her songwriting: the period spawned 1972’s For the Roses, 1974’s Court and Spark, and 1975’s The Hissing of Summer Lawns, records that pushed Mitchell into a more jazz-inspired soundscape.

Sports dramas are familiar to the television landscape, and are often beloved. Fans have leaned into series like “Glow,” “All American,” and even the mid-2000s cult classic “Friday Night Lights.” Yet it’s not the competitive action that keeps audiences pulled in weekly, or amid hours-long binges: It’s the characters and the worlds carefully crafted around them.
It’s been nearly two years since the Season 1 finale of the Michael Waldron-created series “Heels” aired. Set in the fictional town of Duffy, Georgia, “Heels” follows brothers Jack (Stephen Amell) and Ace Spade (Alexander Ludwig), the stars of the Duffy Wrestling League (Dwl). The league and its dilapidated dome are the life’s work of the Spade brothers’ late father, Tom (David James Elliot). Jack has struggled to keep Tom’s fledgling dream and business alive in his absence.

David Mitchell is returning to the BBC for genre-bending detective comedy Ludwig, which features on a five-strong comedy slate alongside Hulu co-production Dinosaur and a show from The Duchess star Michelle de Swarte.
Unveiling his first major comedy slate at this afternoon’s BBC Comedy Festival in Cardiff, the corporation’s Comedy Director Jon Petrie said the shows reflect “the depth and range of our offerings which champion British creativity.”
The slate is led by Ludwig, Peep Show star Mitchell’s first BBC project since Upstart Crow, which follows the eponymous protagonist as he takes on the identity of his brother, Dci James Taylor, who has disappeared off the face of the earth. Mitchell’s Ludwig lives in quiet solitude, designing puzzles for a living under his nom-de-plume, and he struggles to adapt to being a twin who happens to be a successful Dci leading Cambridge’s busy inner-city major crimes team.

Austrian actor Helmut Berger, who became a star of 60s and 70s art cinema with roles in films such as Luchino Visconti’s The Damned, and Ludwig and Joseph Losey’s The Romantic Englishwoman, has died aged 78. His death was announced by his management agency, which posted a statement on its website saying Berger had “passed away peacefully but unexpectedly” in Salzburg, the city where he grew up.
