Ahead of the release of Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters this October, DC’s premiere heroine is getting a 1980s makeover with the September release of a special comic book tie-in to Patty Jenkins’ follow-up to the 2017 hit, featuring a story co-written by one of the movie’s associate producers.

For the past few years, DC has partnered with comic shops, major bookstores and other various retailers in order to bring us Batman Day. Serving as a celebration of all things Dark Knight, each have offered free reprints (and sometimes new stories altogether) of some of the Caped Crusader’s key adventures, not to mention other promo goodies. Basically, it feels like Free Comic Book Day all over again, only with the focus placed squarely on the timeless icon.
While the festivities continuing into this year seemed like a foregone conclusion, we all wondered which books participating stores would be offering. Well, as it turns out, Harley Quinn is taking over with the intention of celebrating her 25th anniversary.
Now, don’t fear because the Masked Manhunter himself won’t be left out of his own holiday,...

Knowing that Harley Quinn is about to celebrate her 25th anniversary, it’s understandable that DC up the ante by taking the character that co-publisher and legendary artist Jim Lee recently described as their “fourth pillar” (Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman being the other three) in crazy new directions. So, in addition to an oversized one-shot hitting stands this fall, readers can look forward to the flagship book paying off a long gestating B-plot.
If you’ve been reading Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti’s run on Harley Quinn up until now – in both the New 52 and Rebirth – then you’d know the mayor of New York City is about as corrupt as they come (in the story, of course). To this point, he’s been a constant nuisance to our gal, has employed cannibals to feed on the city’s homeless and, more recently, enlisted the services of Harley...

If you’ve been following the flagship Harley Quinn series to this point, you’re well aware that the Rebirth run is just as good as the New 52 one that preceded it (you can check out our review of the first trade paperback here). Actually, that comes as no surprise, because it likely has everything to do with the fact that DC retained the same stellar writing team of Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti.
As if the series couldn’t get any better, it was revealed not long ago that the Clown Princess of Crime’s co-creator, Paul Dini, would be boarding the title in the spring to contribute backup stories, naturally chronicling the earlier exploits of the character. Fortunately, the new status quo begins next week.
Comicosity recently caught up with Conner and Palmiotti, who spoke of how all this came about:
“Honestly, it was an idea we were bouncing around,...

It’s getting to be about that time of the month when publishers start rolling out solicits for books they’ll be shipping three months from now. As such, DC has given us all some juicy hints pertaining to what the future has in store for the likes of The Flash, Harley Quinn and Wonder Woman.
First, let’s talk about the Scarlet Speedster, who will be fresh off what’s sure to be a game changing crossover with Batman once issue #23 arrives in comic shops. And from what we can tell, he won’t be done with team-ups anytime soon because Green Lantern Hal Jordan is set to drop by for a little Brave and the Bold style action. Not only that, but Eobard Thawne threatens to cause more trouble as well.

Oh, yes Batman fans...its on now. Paul Dini, the man who created Harley for Batman: The Animated Series, is back on creative writing a back-up story for DC Comics, starting in Harley Quinn #17. Check out the solicit:

It’s undeniable that Harley Quinn is currently one of the hottest commodities in all of comics. Thanks to the success of 2016’s feature film Suicide Squad, it’s probably safe to say she was the most cosplayed character for that calendar year and we can only hope that translates into more comic books sales for the wonderful series written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner.
Once this jazz involving the Joker is well behind us, expect a welcome surprise this April when Paul Dini (yes, the very man who co-created her for Batman: The Animated Series a quarter century ago) comes aboard to assist Palmiotti in writing ongoing backups. Furthermore, artist Brett Blevins is set to join them on a regular basis.
Speaking of which, here’s a synopsis:

Comic Book Reviews: DC Comics Round Up Week 09-07-2016
DC Comics continues having some soft retcons in their Rebirth line up. This time around Cyborg is the center of attention, getting a new creative team and focus. Does it work? Will this be the time for Cyborg to pick up steam with a potential film still looming in the distance? Read on to find out!
Aquaman #6
Story: Dan Abnett Art: Andrew Hennessey, Brad Walker Colors: Gabe Eltaeb
Review: Did someone not inform Dan Abnett this isn’t the same Clark that was introduced when The New 52 first started! This Superman seems very familiar with Arthur, so much so Arthur has no problem airing some of his more insecure issues with Big Blue. The exchange was awkward, and full of weird contradictions that just didn’t make sense for the characters. Superman says he’s not a puppet and he came to talk things out,...

Comic Book Reviews: DC Round Up Week 08-17-2016
DC Comics has been killing it with sales lately, and for good reason! The Rebirth has been a success with almost every series delivering well-written and illustrated stories. Whatever editorial direction Geoff Johns put the company on, it’s worked! The characters feel fresh and new again, while still keeping true to the status quo set up in the New 52 Universe. Could the books do a slightly better job at feeling more “interconnected” (No that doesn’t mean crossover!)? Sure! But regardless, each individual series feels very well put together and on a focused plot. So without further delay, check out the hot books from this week’s DC Comics Rebirth line up!
Green Arrow #5

The Dark Knight Rises is hitting Blu-ray and DVD on December 4 and interest in the Caped Crusader is at an all-time high. Many people are wondering where they can get more background on DC Comics' most famous super hero. Thankfully, there's a few graphic novels out that can satisfy anyone's appetites for more Batman.
It's only right to shine the spotlight on the comic book story arc that influenced Christopher Nolan to bring the saga of Bane to the big-screen. His muscle-bound presence in the Batman universe fills several graphic novels and is not easily summed up in even a two and a half hour plus movie. There's also guest appearances by many of the members of the extended Bat-Family.
If you haven't caught up on the third volume of Batman: KnightFall, you need to before watching Christopher Nolan's vision of Bane and the Caped Crusader's conflict.

We hold in our hands the covers for DC Comics this March. As a child of four can plainly see, these comics have been hermetically sealed in a Cgc 9.8 slab, and they’ve been kept in a #2 mayonnaise jar under a giant pile of Christmas tinsel since noon today.
What do we have worth noting? The first fill-in artist on Justice League, although Gene Ha is certainly no slouch in that department. We also have new writers on Firestorm and Green Arrow, new backups in Justice League and Action Comics, and the DC 52 hits lucky number 7.
Shall we see who is the fariest of them all? Oh indeedy, let’s do!
As usual, spoilers may lurk beyond this point.
