The LALAPaRuZa lip sync smackdown has become one of RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s most iconic challenges, as queens compete against each other in jaw-dropping lip syncs to keep their spot in the competition. Season 15 of Drag Race had a larger-than-life LALAPaRuZa, with queens performing to songs such as Anitta‘s “Boys Don’t Cry” and Joan Jett’s “Do You Wanna Touch Me.” Some of the songs in the lip sync tournament have been used on Drag Race in the past.

Have you ever wondered whatever happens to Drag Queens after Reality TV?
They start a podcast, silly!
The Sonar Network, Canada's award-winning independent podcast network, is thrilled to welcome the addition of Semi-Qualified Queens, a podcast by former Canada’s Drag Race contestants Juice Boxx and Synthia Kiss. The show launched as part of the Sonar Network on Tuesday, February 7.
While hosting a viewing party for a reunion episode of Drag Race, Juice and Synthia’s irresistible chemistry made it clear they were meant to become podcast co-hosts. On Semi-Qualified Queens, which first premiered in January 2022, Juice and Synthia recap episodes of Drag Race and welcome the most recently eliminated queens on the show to spill the tea and the trauma. The podcast showcases this charming duo’s scintillating wit as they battle their imposter syndrome and swap lascivious puns, to the delight of their devoted fan base, the Sqq cuties.

Despite having only competed in her original season under a year ago, Vanity Milan returned with a vengeance in the opening episode of Drag Race Canada vs The World! During the musical challenge, she delivered a powerful message about the injustices Poc queens experience including calling out the BBC media team who recently came under fire for putting the wrong name of a black queen during one of the exit interviews of Drag Race UK season four! During the runway section of the episode, she decided to showcase an incredibly elegant, golden outfit made from duvets which looked absolutely incredible on her! After finding herself in the top two alongside Rita Baga, Vanity delivered a lip-sync performance that utilised every one of her mind-blowing dance skills that claimed her place as the overall winner of the episode. Rita decided to channel a much more comedic performance also mimicking the incredible stunts of her opponent.

For years, the Drag Race fan base has been begging for an international version of the show which would see queens from all over the world compete against one another to be crowned queen of the universe. In fact, all the way back in 2021 I wrote a fantasy cast for such a show, with many of the queens I wanted to appear actually making an appearance! Fans (myself included) were eagerly anticipating an international season to see how the different drag styles would clash and hopefully would provide opportunities for insightful cultural exchanges. However, I don’t think there has been been a season of drag race that has caused so much outrage and controversy than the first-ever season of Drag Race UK vs The World. From jaw-dropping, queen-elected eliminations to supposed purposefully thrown lip-syncs to Jujubee and Baga Chips deciding to showcase some of the worst outfits on the...

Canada’s Drag Race teased a massive guest for its latest season: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau! This isn’t the first time RuPaul’s fantastic competition series has gotten political, with figures like Nancy Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appearing on the original series, but Trudeau has the distinction of being the first world leader on the show, which is certainly impressive.
This new season will be taking on the new “Vs. The World,” format first introduced in Drag Race U.K. which is an “all stars” system that combines queens from all over the international franchises of the show.
Queens from U.S. Drag Race Ra’Jah O’Hara and Silky Nutmeg Ganache are returning, while Canada alums Icesis Couture, Kendall Gender, Rita Baga and Stephanie Prince are also getting a second chance.
Unfortunately, it looks like Trudeau was too busy to stay to guest judge as he just makes a brief appearance in the Queens’ workroom.
