The family of Gabby Petito has reached a settlement with the family of Brian Laundrie — who killed Gabby during a road trip in 2021 before dying by suicide weeks later — to avoid trial in the Petitos’ emotional distress lawsuit against Laundrie’s parents.
The two families previously settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Petitos against Brian’s estate for $3 million in November 2022. However, the Petito family also sued the Laundries for emotional distress, claiming that Brian’s parents already knew that their son had killed Gabby and didn’t say anything to her parents,...

It’s been 30 years since Winifred Sanderson and her sisters put a spell on fans, and “Hocus Pocus” remains a Halloween classic. So, what are the witchy women up to these days? What about the kids they tormented? Well, at least when it comes to the latter, they aren’t kids anymore.
In fact, you can catch most of them at fan conventions across the country when they aren’t on-screen. Vinessa Shaw, Omri Katz, Thora Birch and Jason Marsden have reunited more than a few times at events in the last few years, as “Hocus Pocus” found its cult following later in its life cycle.
As for the Sanderson sisters, well, they’re obviously still hard at work in Hollywood too. In fact, they just reunited last year for “Hocus Pocus 2” on Disney+.
You can see what the ‘Hocus Pocus” cast looks like now in the photos below.

Gabby Petito’s parents are now suing Steven Bertolino, the attorney representing Brian Laundrie’s parents. The family has alleged that the lawyer knew their daughter was dead during the search for her in September 2021.
Gabby, 22, was strangled on a road trip in Wyoming with Brian, 23, last summer. Her body was found in September 2021 and her death was ruled a homicide by manual strangulation and blunt-force trauma to the head and neck.
A month later, Brian was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Brian had penned a confession that was found near his body.
“I ended her life,” the note said. “I thought it was merciful, that is what she wanted, but I see now all the mistakes I made. I panicked. I was in shock.”
In September 2021, Bertolino said that the Laundrie family hoped “that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that Miss Petito is reunited with her family.

The families of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie have reached a 3 million settlement to avoid a trial for the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the victim’s parents against the murderer’s estate.
The trial was set to begin in December, but a Sarasota County judge signed off on the agreement between the two families to give whatever money remained in Laundrie’s estate to the Gabby Petito Foundation.
“The Petito family lost their daughter, and they were also denied the opportunity to confront her killer,” Patrick Reilly, the lawyer for Petito’s parents,...

A year ago, 22-year-old Gabby Petito became headline news when the aspiring travel influencer went missing during a cross-country trip with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie. Now her short life and violent death at his hands are the subject of a Lifetime docudrama, The Gabby Petito Story, starring Skyler Samuels (Scream Queens) and Evan Arthur Hall (Orange Is the New Black). “She was attempting to build this life for herself online, then realized, unfortunately too late, that was one very large facade, and her real life was much more turbulent,” says Emmy nominee Thora Birch, who makes her directing debut and plays Gabby’s mother, Nichole Schmidt. (Credit: Lifetime) Petito’s saga ended after her body was recovered in Wyoming and Laundrie committed suicide, claiming responsibility for her death in a notebook found nearby. Birch’s film — which follows the known facts and dramatizes the unknown — travels back two years to...

During Et’s visit to the set of “The Gabby Petito Story”, Lifetime’s true-crime film about the van life murder, director Thora Birch opened up about her involvement in two other anticipated projects, “Hocus Pocus 2” on Disney+ and Netflix’s “Wednesday” series.
“I was just a little dismayed I wasn’t able to make it,” Birch said of the sequel to “Hocus Pocus“, in which she originated the role of 8-year-old Dani Dennison, one of the Salem, Massachusetts, kids who gets caught up in the mayhem after the resurrection of the Sanderson sisters.
Nearly 30 years later, Midler, Najimy and Parker have reunited for a new tale about the three witches, with Doug Jones reprising his zombie role. However, the original film’s young stars, Omri Katz and Vinessa Shaw, are not among the cast returning for the sequel.

Gabby Petito's mom is not buying Brian Laundrie's notebook confession about why he "ended her life." In June, an attorney for his parents, who are being sued by Petito's parents, released excerpts from a letter Laundrie had written in a notebook before he died of suicide. In it, Laundrie claimed that during the couple's van road trip, Petito was injured while the two tried to cross a stream and was "begging for an end to her pain." He wrote, "I ended her life. I thought it was merciful, that it is what she wanted." When asked if she thought Laundrie's words were "blatantly untrue," Petito's mother, Nichole Schmidt, said on...
