Netflix’s latest anime, Pluto, is a delightful treat that shines far brighter than the run-of-the-mill anime the streaming giant has been serving up lately. It’s a nostalgia trip to the golden age of classic anime that once had us glued to our screens as kids. It reminds us of our beloved Astro Boy, and Pluto serves as a delightful spinoff, bringing all seven of out favorite robots and tickling those cherished memories for us. In Layman’s terms, streaming Pluto on Netflix is like revisiting old friends on a fresh and exciting new adventure.

If you're a fan of "Five Nights at Freddy's," chances are you're also a fan of The Living Tombstone. Consisting of musicians Yoav Landau and Sam Haft, The Living Tombstone is considered by many to be the unofficial sound of "FNaF," after the duo created a series of songs and music videos inspired by the games. Or, more likely, you're familiar with that absolutely bangin' remix of Andrew Gold's "Spooky Scary Skeletons." You know, the one everyone dances to on TikTok around Halloween season? Yeah, that was Landau's doing.
This is all to say, The Living Tombstone might not be a household name to the general public, but for those in the know, they're a pretty big deal. So much so that when the "FNaF" movie was first announced, one of the biggest questions (outside of wondering if Markiplier would be making a cameo) asked by the fandom...

We've all heard the classic love story: outcast girl meets boy. Boy happens to be a handsome corpse. Girl decides to reanimate boy and the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness… and a few missing body parts along the way. Okay, so maybe not exactly a classic love story, but certainly one with the potential for a lot of fun. Scripted by Diablo Cody and directed by Zelda Williams, Lisa Frankenstein stars Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse. And the trailer is lurking below:
Newton here is misunderstood '80s high schooler Lisa, who has a crush on the deceased boy (Sprouse) she thinks could be her soulmate.
But when she finds a way to bring him back to life, the pair embarks on a romance — and a killer spree to replace some of his missing body parts.
Cody, of course, has blended horror and humour before...

Zelda Williams - daughter of the late Robin Williams - is set to make her directorial debut, and she's starting strong with a "zomb-com." In June 2022, Deadline reported that Williams's upcoming film, "Lisa Frankenstein," will star "Riverdale"'s Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton, who's best known for her performance in "Big Little Lies." The movie will also reunite writer Diablo Cody and producer Mason Novick, who previously collaborated on "Jennifer's Body" and "Juno."
On Oct. 26, Focus Features released the trailer for "Lisa Frankenstein," which gives fans an electric first look at how Lisa reanimates Sprouse's zombie character and how her efforts to be with her undead crush ultimately turn murderous. The trailer is just under two minutes long, but Cody's trademark dark humor is apparent from start to finish.
In June 2022, Williams tweeted about how grateful she was to be able to bring what she described as "the most bonkers,...

One part “Edward Scissorhands,” one part “Poor Things,” a dash of “Jennifer’s Body,” add some sugar and spice, and everything is just as nice as young love for Diablo Cody’s latest, “Lisa Frankenstein.”
Kathryn Newton stars as a lonely high schooler who dreams up the perfect man…who has already lived (and died). With the help of a trusty tanning bed, she conjures up his corpse and reanimates him back to life. Sort of.
The official synopsis reads: A coming of Rage love story from acclaimed writer Diablo Cody about a misunderstood teenager (Newton) and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse (Cole Sprouse). After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness…and a few missing body parts along the way.
Liza Soberano, Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest, and Carla Gugino also star.

Kathryn Newton tries to spark a romance with Cole Sprouse’s reanimated corpse in the teaser trailer for Lisa Frankenstein.
Focus Features is set to release Zelda Williams’ feature directorial debut in theaters Feb. 9, just in time for a twisted Valentine’s Day date option. The film centers on Lisa (Newton), a high school outcast who is smitten with a handsome corpse (Sprouse) from the Victorian era and accidentally brings him back to life. Carla Gugino, Liza Soberano and Joe Chrest round out the cast.
The trailer features a lot of axe-swinging as the potential relationship takes some bloody turns. “Taffy says it’s a waste of time to try and fix a boy,” Newton tells her undead suitor about a friend’s advice. “It’s better to just accept a guy’s flaws.”

The high school world is one of pure chaos. What else would you expect when you pack a bunch of teenagers pumped full of raging hormones into the same tight-knit space? It's the kind of environment that could lead to a student developing, I dunno ... a crush on a really cute corpse.
Okay, that's a new one, but it is, in fact, the setup for "Lisa Frankenstein," a film that marks Oscar-winning "Juno" and "Jennifer's Body" writer Diablo Cody's long-awaited return to the realm of high school cinema. The upcoming horror-comedy hails from first-time director Zelda Williams, the daughter of the late, great Robin Williams and an accomplished voice actor whose credits include "The Legend of Korra" and "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." In a since-deleted Tweet (via Entertainment Weekly), Zelda Williams described Cody's script as "the most bonkers, wonderful zombie script I've ever read." She's...

Thandie Newton Was Once Terrified That Tom Cruise Got Too Into Their ‘Mission Impossible’ Love Scene
Tom Cruise brought on board actor Thandie Newton for his iconic Mission Impossible franchise. Although a huge role for Newton, there were a few moments on set that left the actor either upset or confused. One of those moments involved a love scene that Newton was concerned Cruise was too excited about.
Thandie Newton ended up in ‘Missions Impossible 2’ because of Nicole Kidman Thandie Newton | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Newton once confided that Cruise’s ex-wife Kidman played a significant part in Newton’s Mission Impossible 2 role. Newton previously worked with Kidman in the 1991 feature Flirting, and seemed to develop a bit of a bond with Kidman afterwards. Because of that bond, Kidman would eventually suggest Newton for a role in Cruise’s action hit franchise.
“I knew Tom Cruise already of course, and Nicole said he should cast me. And I think [director] John Woo’s a genius,” Newton once told Telegraph.

The wait for "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" is almost over, and today we have a new trailer for the latest Marvel Studios offering. The "Ant-Man" films have been some of the most fun in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. In less than a month, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hope's parents Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne (Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer), and Scott's daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) are heading into the quantum realm to face Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). It looks like this one will be a darker film than the last two, but this is Paul Rudd we're talking about. Even if it's super tragic, there are likely to be some comic moments.

This month marks the twentieth year of the longest-running police reform effort in the United States. The Oakland Police Department was placed under federal court oversight in 2003 following revelations that a squad of officers had spent the summer of 2000 running rampant in a predominantly Black part of the city, beating suspects, planting drugs, and fabricating police reports. Known as the “Riders,” these officers were widely feared in the community.
Keith Batt, then a youthful rookie officer, was shocked by the flagrant violations of the law he witnessed while on patrol with the Riders.
