From the beginning of her career, Nicki Minaj has taken the moments as they’ve come. When her debut album Pink Friday arrived in 2010, she was navigating somewhat unpaved terrain. Breaking through the barriers of hip-hop’s boy’s club meant defending her craft to people who perceived her femininity as a limitation on her capability, while also proving that she wasn’t a carbon copy of the women who were her predecessors. “When you’re told something for a long time, even when it changes, your mind frame doesn’t change,...

Nicki Minaj has dropped new song “Big Foot.” The diss track arrives following a dust-up between her and Megan Thee Stallion following the latter’s release of “Hiss” on Friday.
On Minaj’s new track, she goes in for the kill, straight-up naming Megan in the first verse. “This little beggin’ whore talkin’ ’bout Megan’s law/For a free beat, you can hit Megan raw,” Minaj spits. “If you a ghost writer, Pardi in Megan jaw/Shots thrown but I still ain’t let Megan score.” The song culminates in a spoken word warning.

Ringo Starr wrote songs for The Beatles that were not-starters. Ringo compared his rejected songs to Sam Smith’s “Stay with Me” for a very specific reason. The “You’re Sixteen” singer also discussed his evolution as a songwriter — and why he prefers to work with co-writers.
Ringo Starr wrote songs for The Beatles that felt familiar a la Sam Smith’s ‘Stay with Me’
With some notable exceptions like “Octopus’s Garden” and “Don’t Pass Me By,” very few of The Beatles’ songs were written or co-written by Ringo. During a 2015 interview with Goldmine, Ringo discussed why some of the tunes he wrote for the Fab Four garnered ridicule. “Well, you know it was very difficult at the beginning for me as a writer because we did have Lennon and McCartney,” he said.
“I used to write these songs and they would roll on the floor laughing because...

The new show NCIS: Sydney is now streaming, and it looks like we have another murder case to solve. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service, or NCIS, seems like a niche branch, but boy, oh boy, do they have truckloads of cases! The original series NCIS aired in 2003, and since then, the saga has been ongoing, spawning various spin-offs where special agents from NCIS get together, often aided by law enforcement agencies of a specific region, to solve criminal cases related to the navy. As the name suggests, the NCIS: Sydney spin-off series is set in Australia, where NCIS officers find themselves in a spot of bother, not able to find the right footing with the Australian Federal Police. They have a case to solve, and the ‘radioactive’ part of the investigation raises the stakes to exciting levels.

Given how outlandish and enormous the "Fast & Furious" film series would eventually become, it's a little mind-boggling to remember that Rob Cohen's 2001 original, "The Fast and the Furious," was little more than a mid-budget "Point Break" knockoff. The story goes that star Paul Walker, having enjoyed working with Cohen on the 2000 college thriller "The Skulls" was asked what his dream action project would be. Walker said that he wanted to appear in an action movie mashup of "Days of Thunder" and "Donnie Brasco." That is: something with fast cars, but also a cop who goes undercover to infiltrate the criminal underground. The subsequent screenplay, written by Gary Scott Thompson, drew inspiration from a 1998 article in Vibe Magazine all about the New York underground racing scene. David Ayer was brought in to work on a draft, and he changed the setting to Los Angeles and made the cast more diverse.

Ana Navarro is thoroughly enjoying the drama surrounding Ron DeSantis and his shoes. On Thursday morning’s episode of “The View,” the ABC host delighted in how it’s such a “complete self-own” by the Florida governor, considering he’s made his opinions on men wearing high heels very clear.
For those who haven’t kept up, DeSantis is currently swatting down rumors that he wears lifts in his shoes in order to make himself appear taller, after folks on social media started roasting some odd-looking boots he’s been wearing. DeSantis maintains that he does not wear lifts, and that he’s 5-foot-11.
As moderator Whoopi Goldberg teed up the segment and gave viewers context around the drama that’s been plaguing DeSantis, Ana Navarro could only laugh loudly as each new detail and development was summed up. And, when it came time for her to weigh in on the situation,...

When it came to its box office performance, Tank Girl was definitely a disappointment. The 1995 sci-fi action film, based on a British comic book, pulled in only $4 million domestically and $2 million overseas, a far cry from matching the film’s $25 million budget. However, the film’s been reassessed as being ahead of its time, and now it’s developed a sizeable cult following, based in part upon the movie’s decidedly feminist themes. Tank Girl starred Lori Petty in the title role, and the shoot was a particularly memorable one for her, even though it definitely wasn’t easy. In fact, at the time of the movie’s release, Petty said it was easily the most difficult thing she’d done.(Click on the media bar below to hear Lori Petty) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Lori_Prtty_Tank_Girl.mp3

Choosing George Harrison‘s best collaborations isn’t easy because there are so many. However, for this list, we kept it to the collaborations that happened in the recording studio only, whether they were on one of George’s tracks or another artist’s. Here are 10 of George’s best collaborations.
George Harrison and Eric Clapton | Dave Hogan/Getty Images 10. ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’
George used Chinese philosophy to write The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” In his 1980 memoir, I Me Mine, he explained that he read that everything is relative to everything else in I Ching, the Chinese classic Book of Changes. So, he used it to write a song. He randomly opened a book and saw the words “gently weeps,” and the tune was born. It’s one of George’s best collaborations because he asked Eric Clapton to perform on it. The guitarist was hesitant...

George Harrison’s “Any Road” draws from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Jefferson Airplane did the same for “White Rabbit.” Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers did the same for “Don’t Come Around Here No More.” George Harrison | Keystone / Stringer
George Harrison‘s “Any Road” is based on a paraphrase of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Specifically, the song was inspired by a conversation between Alice and the Cheshire Cat. Subsequently, the tune became a hit in the United Kingdom but not the United States.
